Chapter 487 - 404 Uncle’s Family
Chapter 487 - 404 Uncle’s Family
After arriving home, Leng Mochen playfully ruffled Li Si’s hair. "Why did you give her a hint?"
Li Si pretended to be oblivious. "What hint? Did I say something?"
He shook his head with a smile. "Well, it’s going to be quite a challenge to find her! Your Brother Wu never makes things easy to uncover!"
His words instantly piqued her curiosity. "I only said it because I already knew! But come on, tell me — where exactly did you send Zhou Rou?"
She only mentioned Zhang Yao being in a psychiatric hospital because she overheard Long Wu’s phone call when he mentioned it.
But as for Zhou Rou’s whereabouts, he’s never disclosed anything!
Leng Mochen smugly pointed to his own cheek. "Give me a kiss! If I’m satisfied, I’ll tell you!"
Li Si leaned forward generously and planted a loud "smooch" on his cheek. "Satisfied now? Spill it!"
Leng Mochen gave a wicked grin, wagging his index finger. "NO! NO! NO! Not passionate enough! Again!"
Li Si bit her lip and gave him another kiss. "How about now?"
"Once more!"
"Now can you talk?"
"Not fiery enough!"
"And now?"
"Shh! Don’t talk..."
"Mmm... You’re such a liar!"
Li Si eventually learned that Zhou Rou had been sent to a remote mountain village in Yunnan, a place without transportation or electricity.
Apparently, she was handed over for free to three old bachelors in the area. Each night, they took turns being her "groom," and Zhou Rou became their "bride" night after night.
When Zhou Gang got married, they couldn’t locate Zhou Rou. Years later, someone in a secluded Yunnan village spotted a barely recognizable Zhou Rou, utterly emaciated and on the verge of collapse after years of torment!
Of course, that’s a tale for another time! Let’s set it aside for now!
The next day, Leng Mochen was incredibly excited because the three-month mark had arrived. After fasting for so long, anyone would be thrilled to finally enjoy a feast!
Li Si noticed his enthusiasm as soon as she woke up. If there hadn’t been an important company meeting he had to attend on time, he might have devoured her on the spot, savoring every moment!
Still, before he left, he made a domineering demand. "Stay at home and wait for me! Don’t go anywhere!"
The implied look in his eyes said it all!
Li Si’s cheeks couldn’t help but flush and turn red. "Got it!"
This guy!
The morning flew by both quickly and slowly! From Leng Mochen’s perspective, shareholder meetings were dreadfully dull and tiresome!
What could compare to the satisfaction of heading home to cuddle with his sweetheart and enjoying "exercise" together?
That’s why some shareholders at Leng Family noticed something strange. The always serious Mr. Leng had a subtle smile in the corner of his eyes today!
How odd!
Jiang Feng inwardly complained. It had to have something to do with the boss’s wife! Where was his own love life? While Mr. Leng was busy with sweetness and romance, he was buried in work, work, and more work!
At home, Li Si pampered herself with a fragrant bath and carefully applied moisturizing lotion to her skin. Touching her smooth and tender skin afterward, she couldn’t help but feel gorgeous.
After breastfeeding, Little Buding promptly fell into a peaceful sleep!
Everything was perfectly prepared — except for the "east wind," which got held up elsewhere unexpectedly!
As Leng Mochen exited the meeting room, Mrs. Leng and Leng Ning showed up at the company to tell him that his uncle’s family was returning from abroad, arriving that afternoon at two o’clock.
Mrs. Leng had been so busy these past two days that she’d forgotten all about it.
Leng Ning smirked. Her mother wasn’t busy at all — she had been sulking with her father but then reconciled, completely forgetting the uncle’s family’s return date in the process.
Leng Mochen glanced at his watch. The timeline was tight, but reluctantly, he agreed to tag along to the airport.
Meanwhile, Li Si learned about this news at home and found it hilarious after reading his grumbling text message. She was practically gleeful.
Even if nothing had interrupted his return, what would he have done in broad daylight anyway? The man was truly frantic!
She quickly instructed Sister Ding to pack Little Buding’s essentials, and Jiang Tong drove them to Elder Leng’s mansion.
Mrs. Leng insisted that her brother’s family should stay in their own home instead of a hotel — it would be too impersonal and unlike family!
Plus, Elder Leng’s place was the proper site for the first visit. Her brother had barely returned home in all these years, and now his wife and son were accompanying him. It was right for Elder Leng to see them.
So, by the time Li Si and her baby had been at the mansion for over two hours, she earnestly thanked Elder Leng. After all, the previous incident definitely had consequences for the Leng Family.
But Elder Leng waved her off and wouldn’t let her continue. He said no Leng Family member should ever let outsiders hold them down.
Li Si couldn’t help but smile. She had talked about this very topic with Leng Mochen before, and he had mentioned that Elder Leng was exceptionally protective and would never let anyone make a mockery of their family.
While Li Si was chatting with Elder Leng, Mrs. Leng and her entourage returned from the airport with the guests.
A middle-aged gentleman walking behind Mrs. Leng enthusiastically stepped forward to bow to Elder Leng. "Uncle Leng! I’m back! How have you been all these years?"
Elder Leng was equally delighted to see him. Looking at the man who had departed as a young lad but returned with graying temples, he felt a pang of nostalgia. "Good! Good! Zhenglin, sit down and let’s talk! Who’s this?"
"This is my wife, Wang Meishu, and our son, Ouyang Hongming. Come pay your respects!"
After formal greetings, Elder Leng invited them to sit.
Mrs. Leng happily introduced her daughter-in-law and cherished grandson to her brother’s family. Li Si thought her uncle, Ouyang Zhenglin, was an exceptionally handsome middle-aged man with a very polite demeanor.
Her aunt, Wang Meishu, looked exceptionally youthful after years of good care. Yet her gaze toward Li Si carried a hint of scrutiny that Li Si found odd. She politely exchanged greetings but said nothing further.
Ouyang Hongming appeared to be in his early twenties — handsome, with striking almond-shaped eyes that sparkled with mischief.
Once everyone settled in, the little darling of the crowd was undeniably Little Buding. Ouyang’s family had brought gifts for everyone.
Little Buding, oblivious to it all, curiously glanced around, prompting an endless stream of compliments from Wang Meishu that Li Si found insincere and over-the-top. Sure, her child was adorable, but the aunt was laying it on way too thick. She glanced at Leng Mochen seated beside her, his calm expression making her stifle a laugh.
Taking advantage of the lively chatter, Leng Mochen sneaked a playful wink at her. Seeing her glowing face, fragrant and radiant, he was growing impatient to leave!
Li Si shot him an admonishing look. With so many people around, he needed to rein in those thoughts!
Leng Ning, having little memory of her uncle, didn’t feel much familiarity toward him.
Ouyang Hongming, on the other hand, was very talkative. From the drive back from the airport, he had been using awkward, stilted Chinese to recount his overseas adventures.
To Leng Ning, he came across as a carefree playboy who indulged in partying and womanizing, void of any real substance. His conversations revolved around leisure, and he lacked depth.
The lively ambiance continued until Housekeeper Xu announced that the meal was ready. After eating, Leng Mochen and Li Si brought their baby along and spent some time at Leng Mansion before returning home with Mrs. Leng and the others. (To be continued.
