Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Isn’t this inappropriate?
Thomas Fisher had a mischievous look, and Easton Holmes glared at him impatiently, "Mind your own business!"
After glaring at his good friend, his gaze shifted to Lily Turner, who was sitting beside him, "In the future, don’t just open the door for anyone, especially when you’re home alone."
When he entered earlier, he overheard their conversation and immediately guessed that she had let someone in without confirming who it was. Fortunately, it was his good friend, not someone else.
"Big brother! What do you mean by that? Am I a bad guy? Are you worried I’ll do something to your sister-in-law?" Before Lily could express any opinion, Thomas couldn’t help but speak up.
Easton turned to look at his good friend with a dissatisfied expression, "Are you a good guy?"
"I..."
"You two chat, I’m going upstairs."
As they bickered, she decided not to stick around as cannon fodder.
As Lily spoke, she was already standing up from the sofa. Without glancing at the two men, she walked toward the doorway of the living room.
As she passed by Thomas, he grabbed her. Puzzled, she looked down at him, but before she could react, he eagerly spoke up, "Sister-in-law! Hold on, I have something to ask you."
As he spoke, he felt a chilling gaze from the side.
He took a deep breath with feigned calmness and smiled at his big brother, "Big brother! Don’t misunderstand, I just wanted to ask if sister-in-law is free tonight?"
"She’s not free!"
Almost as soon as Thomas finished speaking, Easton responded, his eyes fixed on the hand holding Lily’s wrist.
Although Lily didn’t know what Thomas’s intentions were with his question, she could see Easton was displeased. She struggled to withdraw her arm, "If there’s something, just say it now."
Since he already said she’s not free tonight, claiming otherwise would clearly be contradicting him. To maintain harmony, she decided not to tell the truth.
"Actually, there’s nothing much. I just wanted to invite you and big brother out tonight on behalf of the other two brothers." Thomas was tempted to provoke Easton further, but worried that pushing too far might lead Easton to truly fall out with him. He decided not to ruin things.
When Easton saw it was Thomas, he immediately guessed the reason. Thomas’s words didn’t surprise him at all, "She’s not free tonight, I’ll go alone."
After speaking, his gaze shifted as he looked towards Lily, who stood motionless, "You go upstairs and rest first."
He wasn’t asking for her input; he was giving her a direct order.
Lily was quite displeased with Easton’s commanding tone, but since Thomas was still there, she refrained from expressing her discontent and instead silently left the living room and went upstairs.
"Big brother! The party tonight is for you and sister-in-law. Going alone isn’t quite right, is it?" Since learning about Easton and Lily’s marriage registration, the other three brothers had been waiting for Easton to invite them to celebrate. But after many days with no invitation, they had no choice but to send a representative to check out the situation and extend an invitation to the newlyweds.
