Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Can You Spare Me?

Lily Turner repeatedly said she wanted to leave, and Sophia Wood was so angry she almost jumped up. She took several deep breaths before gradually calming down a lot.

"You leave? Where are you going? The Military District Compound?" Her eyes were angrily glaring at the person standing not far away, and her expression did not look good.

"I’m married now. Where else can I go but there?" Lily was not afraid of the anger emanating from her mother and spoke truthfully.

Sophia stormed over, reaching out to grab Lily’s arm. Filled with anger, her movements were very rough, "You’re about to get divorced. From today, stay at home and don’t go anywhere."

After saying that, Sophia forcefully pulled Lily back down onto the sofa beside her.

"Can you just let me go?"

After stabilizing herself on the sofa, Lily struggled to pull her hand back. However, she did not get up to leave; she just moved aside, putting some distance between her and Sophia.

Seeing that Lily had no intention of standing up and leaving, Sophia didn’t move closer but turned her body to face Lily, "Let you go? Do you mean I shouldn’t care about you anymore?"

Her face still maintained the unpleasant expression from before, though the anger in her eyes wasn’t as intense as earlier.

"I’m already twenty-two years old. I can make my own decisions and take responsibility for my things," Lily didn’t say it outright, but the implication was clear, and she was unusually firm in her tone.

This was the first time Sophia heard Lily speak to her this way. She was shocked and extremely angry and hurt at the same time.

"Your wings have hardened, and I can’t control you anymore, is that it?" Pausing briefly, she continued, "I’m telling you, I will meddle in this matter. You have to divorce that guy named Huo."

Lily’s attitude was very determined, but Sophia’s was even more so. At that moment, the mother and daughter were at a standstill.

Sophia looked angrily at Lily, and Lily looked back at her, equally angry. Neither mother nor daughter was willing to back down. "Whether I divorce or not is my own business, and even if you are my mom, you can’t control it."

Earlier, she had intended to get a divorce, but not now. Not at all. If only for the sake of winning this argument.

"Let’s see if I can stop you."

Sophia’s attitude remained firm without any sign of easing.

Lily did not respond verbally to Sophia’s words; instead, she abruptly stood up from the sofa.

As Sophia realized what was happening, Lily quickly walked out of the living room, heading toward the door with increasing speed.

"You little brat! Stop right there for me!"

Sophia reacted quickly and chased after her, but her actions were still a bit too late. Lily had already reached the door and was reaching out to open it and leave.

"You little brat! If you walk out that door today, don’t ever come back!" In a hurry, Sophia shouted at Lily, who was standing at the door about to leave.

Bam!

Sophia thought that after hearing her words, Lily wouldn’t leave. However, the result left her immensely disappointed and angry. Lily not only left but didn’t even turn back to look at her before walking out the door.

Ungrateful child! I raised you for nothing! Ingrate!

Watching the door that Lily had just closed, Sophia angrily ground her teeth.
