Chapter 282: You Have a Conscience

Chapter 282: You Have a Conscience

Adrian Linton?!

Lily Turner was momentarily confused about who Grant Heath was referring to, but she quickly recalled the situation that happened during their last meal, Adrian Linton! That guy really knows how to give himself a name.

"What are you babbling all these truths for!"

Lily Turner raised her hand and smacked Grant Heath. Her actions were not only sudden, but also quite surprising. Grant was startled and annoyed by her words and actions, and his expression immediately darkened.

"Lily Turner! You really are fickle, aren’t you? Now that you have a new husband, you’ve forgotten about your old one—me."

Just as he turned to look at Lily, his expression changed from gloomy to cheerful, showing no sign of displeasure or anger at all.

Due to Grant Heath’s intentional disguise, Lily didn’t notice anything unusual. Upon hearing what he said, she immediately thought he was joking with her.

"Grant Heath! You better watch your head, my husband’s temper isn’t great either."

And he’s petty too, Lily added in her heart, recalling how she personally experienced the pettiness of her own man not long ago.

Even though she was joking, anyone not in the know might think she has two husbands. That joke sure was a bit too much.

Hearing this, Grant quickly looked at Lily Turner, his facial expression subtly changed, but unless you looked closely, you wouldn’t notice at all, "My temper isn’t great either; when the time comes, who knows who’ll be worrying about their head."

Though this seemed like a joke, he was not joking at all.

"Your temper isn’t great???"

In her mind, Lily Turner asked several questions in a row. Grant Heath’s temper was extraordinarily good, she had never seen him angry since knowing him. He was the most even-tempered person she had met.

Grant Heath heard Lily Turner’s doubt and astonishment, but he pretended not to notice. He nodded affirmatively, "Hmm! When I’m with someone I like, my temper is very good, but when it’s someone I don’t like, my temper turns really bad."

My good temper is only for you, did you know? He glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

"So I guess I’m not someone you dislike; that’s unfortunate, I really wanted to see what you’re like when you’re angry." Lily sighed after saying that, matching the regret expressed in her words with her actions.

It’s a relief that she wasn’t as slow as he thought; she knew he liked her.

But when will she know he loves her? He’s already made it so obvious.

Grant Heath sighed quietly, "From what you said, it sounds like you’d really want to see me angry?"

She would never see that in this lifetime.

"I’m just joking with you; it’s not a good thing, after all, I’d rather not see it."

Lily Turner shook her head; she was very curious about what Grant Heath would be like when angry, but she didn’t actually want to see it. She preferred his good-tempered self.

Hearing that, Grant Heath slightly curved his mouth, "Good to know you have a conscience."

"I do have a conscience, alright?" Lily Turner laughed and rebutted, dissatisfied.

Confirming it was safe, Grant Heath tilted his head to look at Lily Turner, "You have a conscience? I didn’t notice, if you had a conscience, you wouldn’t have abandoned me."

"Abandon you? I haven’t abandoned you at all. We’re still like we used t—"

The phone in her pocket suddenly rang, and Lily Turner instinctively stopped talking.
