Chapter 1030: Can You Stay With Me a Little Longer?

Chapter 1030: Can You Stay With Me a Little Longer?

As soon as Autumn York spoke, Thomas Fisher was momentarily taken aback, but he managed to remain calm, not making any inappropriate noises.

"What if I said yes? Would you accept it?" he boldly asked, and after asking, he quietly waited for his mom’s reaction.

"Son! Do you think I would accept it? If that were the case, you’d be the third party, and do you think I would let you do such disgraceful things? I definitely would not agree." Autumn’s stance was clear; she would not allow her son to do anything dishonorable. Luckily, her son was speaking hypothetically; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so calm in her response.

The third party?!

How did he end up as the third party? Wasn’t he just in such an awkward position right now? She hadn’t divorced his older brother yet, and his identity was precisely that awkward.

When Thomas Fisher thought of these things, his mood instantly soured, "Mom! What third party? That sounds so harsh."

He had never thought he would end up with such an awkward identity. Not considering it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened; anything seems possible.

"You’re not the third party, so does it sound harsh or not have anything to do with you?" Autumn York didn’t realize that Thomas Fisher was indeed in such a delicate situation, always thinking he was just joking with her.

From the bottom of her heart, she didn’t believe it was true, didn’t believe the excellent son she had painstakingly raised would do such a thing.

Thomas Fisher didn’t want to continue the conversation with his mom any further; continuing would only make him more depressed. "Mom! I’m not talking with you anymore, bye for now."

After saying that, he hung up the phone immediately, not caring how the person on the other end would feel, nor whether they would be displeased.

After hanging up, Thomas Fisher didn’t immediately leave the study to find Alice Turner but stayed to calm his gloomy mood. Once he returned to a more normal state, he put away the phone and walked out of the study.

At that moment, Alice Turner was focused intently on working on her laptop. Whenever she entered work mode, she wouldn’t think about anything else, seeing only work and ignoring everything else.

When Thomas Fisher came in, he saw Alice engrossed in her work, the second time he had seen her like this.

The first time he witnessed her like this was several months ago during a business trip to J City; he was fortunate to see her at work while in the hotel.

She worked with such devotion that he remembered standing in front of her for quite some time, and she didn’t notice; it was only when he spoke up that she reacted.

Faced with the same scenario today, Thomas didn’t wait as long as last time before calling out to Alice. This time, as he approached her, he said, "Alice! What are you so engrossed in? Can I take a look?"

Getting closer, he sat beside her.

"I took the day off from work today, so I need to sort out the materials for tomorrow. I’ll head to my room to do it, so I won’t stay here with you." Alice stood up with her laptop. After getting up, she walked out of the living room; if it wasn’t for waiting for him to finish his call, she would have gone back to her room with the laptop earlier.

Thomas Fisher reached out and grabbed her as she was about to leave, looking up at her with a face full of expectation: "Can you keep me company for a little while longer? Just for a bit."

He held onto her arm tightly, as if fearing she might suddenly run away if he let go.
