As soon as Autumn York spoke, Thomas Fisher was momentarily taken aback, but he managed to remain calm, not making any inappropriate noises.

"What if I said yes? Would you accept it?" he boldly asked, and after asking, he quietly waited for his mom’s reaction.

"Son! Do you think I would accept it? If that were the case, you’d be the third party, and do you think I would let you do such disgraceful things? I definitely would not agree." Autumn’s stance was clear; she would not allow her son to do anything dishonorable. Luckily, her son was speaking hypothetically; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so calm in her response.

The third party?!

How did he end up as the third party? Wasn’t he just in such an awkward position right now? She hadn’t divorced his older brother yet, and his identity was precisely that awkward.

When Thomas Fisher thought of these things, his mood instantly soured, "Mom! What third party? That sounds so harsh."

He had never thought he would end up with such an awkward identity. Not considering it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened; anything seems possible.

Getting closer, he sat beside her.

"I took the day off from work today, so I need to sort out the materials for tomorrow. I’ll head to my room to do it, so I won’t stay here with you." Alice stood up with her laptop. After getting up, she walked out of the living room; if it wasn’t for waiting for him to finish his call, she would have gone back to her room with the laptop earlier.

Thomas Fisher reached out and grabbed her as she was about to leave, looking up at her with a face full of expectation: "Can you keep me company for a little while longer? Just for a bit."

He held onto her arm tightly, as if fearing she might suddenly run away if he let go.
