Chapter 854 850: Accident or Conspiracy? (2)

Stay away from Charles!

Jimmy's domineering words suddenly flashed through her mind, and Camila uncharacteristically agreed, "Alright, I'll drive myself to work today. If I don't, I'm afraid the car will get rusty. Brother Charles, what about you? My parents aren't home, why don't you drive my dad's car?"

"Don't worry, I'm not foolish enough to walk."

Charles let out a sentence, sighed softly, and turned to leave her room.

After Charles left, Camila quickly changed her clothes. After getting ready, she picked up her handbag and left the room as usual.

As soon as she exited the room, she took out her phone, planning to call Jimmy. Jimmy was going to the Black Emperor Group today, officially taking over and having a meeting.

Just as she was about to call, Jimmy called her first.

"Camila."

The soft and melodious voice came through, and as soon as Camila heard this familiar voice, a smile appeared on her face.

"Up already?"

"Yeah, how about you?"

Camila slowed her steps as she descended the stairs, chatting with Jimmy as if they were having a casual conversation.

"I'm on my way to the company," Jimmy replied in a low voice. "Just woke up? Remember to have breakfast. If not, I'll have someone deliver it to you."

Camila checked the time; it was only 7:10 in the morning. Jimmy was already on his way to the company. As the CEO, he didn't need to be at the company so early. He could arrive after nine and no one would say a thing, or even not show up at all.

"I want to get to the company earlier to look over some documents and get a general sense of how the company has been running lately," Jimmy explained gently, as if he had read her mind.

To gain management experience, he had worked in some of the subsidiaries of the organization. But taking over the Black Emperor Group for the first time, with those senior managers all being from the organization, he needed to have enough presence to keep them in line. If he wasn't aware of the current situation, it would be hard for him to assert himself at today's meeting.

These past few days, he hadn't asked a word about the Black Emperor Group, focusing entirely on spending time with Camila.

"Alright, go for it. If you run into difficulties, you can ask Brother Ivan," Camila encouraged Jimmy.

Despite her slight doubts, Jimmy was very happy because she supported him!

"I'll pick you up for lunch at noon, make sure to wait for me. Don't get in Brother Ivan's car, and absolutely don't go with Brother Charles, understand?" Jimmy's voice was deep and magnetic, yet incredibly domineering.

Charles loves Camila, that much was clear to him. He wasn't worried about Charles hurting Camila; he was worried that because of Charles, Camila might get hurt by Joseph.

The last time the car caught fire, Camila was accidentally caught up in it.

He only had someone discreetly teach Joseph a lesson and didn't go too far.

But if Camila got hurt again, he would flatten the entire Colson Family.

Hurt him, he could endure, but hurt Camila—sorry, he doesn't know the meaning of endurance.

"Got it," Camila replied with a smile. The feeling of being claimed by him made her feel a sense of reality; no longer a dream, no longer just waiting, he had truly become part of her world.

"Camila."

Jimmy on the other end of the phone suddenly called her name in a low voice, even softer than before, as if he wanted to share a secret with her.

"Hmm." Camila focused intently, afraid that she might miss his secret if she wasn't careful.

"I love you."

Even though Jimmy's voice was low, his words were clear, and she heard them distinctly.

Camila's heart couldn't help but flutter, her face showing happiness mixed with a hint of shyness. She retorted, "I know." He had said it eight years ago.

"And you?"

Jimmy eagerly asked back.

Even though the two of them had been inseparable, almost igniting the spark, she had never told him she loved him. He knew her heart but just wanted to hear her say she loved him.

Don't think only women like sweet talk; men do too.

"Hehe, not telling you," Camila teased with a mischievous smile.

Silly guy, if she didn't love him, why would she wait for him for eight years?

"If you don't tell me, you'll have it coming at noon," Jimmy warned on purpose.

In his heart, Camila was already his wife.

Marriage was just a matter of time.

"I'm hanging up now. I'll have some breakfast—I'm really hungry. Mwah!" Camila reached the ground floor and was about to hang up the call. Before doing so, she playfully and boldly gave a kiss over the phone, deliberately teasing Jimmy on the other end.

Hearing that sound, Jimmy chuckled indulgently, muttering, "Don't beg for mercy at noon, teasing me now."

Driving Jimmy to the Black Emperor Group, Florence overheard his conversation with Camila. She remained silent, her face expressionless, but her heart was filled with a sharp pain.

Maybe she should learn to let go.

After all, she had entered the organization and could no longer be the daughter-in-law of the Reyes Family.

But after so many years of infatuation, letting go might only be possible if she stayed away from him.

Yet, she couldn't bear the thought of leaving him.

She enjoyed being the only one by his side, protecting him while he handled matters, feeling that he wholly belonged to her in those moments.

Unable to have him, just being able to see him was a kind of happiness for her, even if that happiness was tinged with bitterness.

At the Ruiz Family home, Charles had already sat at the dining table, eating his breakfast.

Camila put away her phone and walked in happily. She sat down opposite Charles and picked up the cutlery to start eating the Western breakfast he had prepared for her.

"Is it good?" Charles looked at her expectantly.

If he could win her stomach over, at least he'd have a significant place in her heart.

"My mom's apprentice, I'm satisfied," Camila responded playfully.

Rachel Bailey's cooking skills had been honed over decades, reaching a level comparable to a five-star chef. Under her influence, Camila and her siblings, as well as Charles, all understood cooking. Especially Charles, who, feeling a sense of inferiority from living in the Ruiz home, diligently learned to cook to take care of Camila and her siblings. Consequently, he was the most serious learner and the best cook among them.
