Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law

Chapter 850 - 846

Chapter 850 - 846

Mila Anderson saw everything clearly, noticing that her precious grandson wasn't the least bit upset. She knew that what her grandson and Camila Ruiz said was the truth, and she breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

Thankfully, the two treasured grandsons won't become romantic rivals.

It seems rumors are just rumors, not to be trusted.

"You guys chat, I'm going for a walk." Mila Anderson glanced at Jimmy Horne and Camila Ruiz, stood up with a light smile, and walked out of the Side Hall. She didn't need to be a third wheel now that she understood the relationships.

Mila Anderson wasn't particularly open-minded, unlike the old ladies of the past. But after experiencing so much, and now at an old age, she had come to terms with many things. Even with Pheobe Rogers, an old rival she hated for thirty years, she could now laugh it off. So she didn't want to interfere in her grandchildren's love lives and tried to learn from her mother-in-law's way of handling things.

After walking out of the Side Hall, she saw Julia and Ruby sitting together. After the family split, Ruby only occasionally came back. The sisters each had their lives and work, leaving less time to spend together, but being both sisters and sisters-in-law, their relationship remained as strong as when they were young. Mila Anderson looked at Julia with both gratitude and affection.

She knew that everything she had today was in no small part due to this daughter-in-law.

She thought of Julia as the Horne Family's lucky star. Since Julia married into the Horne Family in her sister's stead, she had changed the destinies of many people.

Even though Julia was now fifty, Mila Anderson still treated her like a child, cherishing her even more than Adele.

With a gentle smile, Mila Anderson walked toward the two sisters.

Outside the house.

"Master Ivan."

Just as Ivan Horne walked outside, he was stopped by Florence Ford.

On seeing it was Florence Ford, the smile on Ivan Horne's face disappeared, his handsome face became somewhat stern, and he asked coolly, "Little beauty, haven't seen you in eight years, you've become even more stunningly beautiful. What do you want to ask me?"

Florence Ford's eyes flicked behind him.

Ivan turned his head to look behind himself and then looked back at Florence Ford's stunning yet extremely cold face. His gaze became unreadable, and his previously playful demeanor vanished, replaced by a solemn look, not as pronounced as Florence Ford's coldness but carrying an intimidating aura that was hard to face directly.

With a slight parting of his sensual, warm lips, he spoke in a voice laced with sarcasm: "My cousin is inside romancing with Camila. He didn't come out with me. You can ask whatever you want." With that, he turned toward the backyard.

Standing conspicuously at the doorway, he didn't want his family to see him and the little beauty "chatting happily"; otherwise, his mother might pair him up with her, and he'd be the one to suffer. He remembered that scene from eight years ago all too well.

In early autumn, the garden in the backyard looked somewhat withered. The flowerbeds had only leaves, no flowers. Some trees' leaves had begun to turn yellow, only the evergreen trees remained unchanged.

"Master Ivan." Florence Ford, having experienced Ivan Horne's toughness, knew that he was even harder to deal with than her own young master and couldn't be second-guessed easily. She didn't beat around the bush, directly catching up to Ivan Horne and blocking his path.

Ivan Horne paused, looking at her, and asked with a teasing smile: "Little beauty, you're always stopping me; could it be you've fallen for me?" Though he teased Florence Ford, she could still catch a glimpse of coldness in the depths of his eyes, indicating his considerable impatience with her, yet he maintained his composure.

Florence Ford didn't have the same fondness for Ivan Horne as she did for Jimmy Horne, but Ivan Horne's attitude somehow hurt her beauty's pride. Outside of her young master, few young men of the sect didn't like her. She had always prided herself on her looks, but in front of Ivan Horne, who was as devastatingly handsome as a demon, her beauty suddenly seemed lacking.

Why didn't Ivan Horne like her?

Ever since they were young, this man had been nothing but disapproving, always coldly mocking her.

Yet towards Camila, both this man in front of her and the young master inside, their attitudes were entirely different. Are beauties no longer appealing?

"Florence doesn't dare to have any designs on Master Ivan, knowing she isn't worthy," Florence Ford replied flatly.

Ivan Horne laughed, suddenly and pointedly asking, "You have some self-awareness. So why do you remain infatuated with Jimmy? Do you think you're worthy of him?"

Even as a child, he liked to compare the little beauty to Camila. In terms of appearance, the little beauty far surpassed Camila, but in terms of inner qualities, Camila was purer, at least Camila didn't give off an eerie vibe. In his youth, he saw that Florence Ford was fixated on Jimmy, so he refused to share any information about Jimmy Horne with her.

It seemed Florence Ford's infatuation was undying.

Florence Ford's face rarely blushed.

Suddenly, Ivan Horne's handsome face leaned closer, his pitch-black eyes glinting with an inscrutable light, locking onto her face. The warm, masculine breath on her features deepened the blush on her face and his sudden forward motion instinctively made her step back.

As she retreated, he pressed forward.

When she was pressed against a tree, she had to stop retreating. She thought Ivan Horne would stop his aggressive approach, but unexpectedly, he continued closing in, those deep eyes like sharp blades on her face.

"Billy is Camila's! If you dare cause any trouble, I'll make sure you pay!" Ivan Horne's low, cold, authoritative warning resounded in Florence Ford's ears, jolting her back to her senses. Furious, she immediately pushed with both hands, trying to shove Ivan Horne away. But his hand moved like lightning, gripping her wrist, making her hand unable to exert force. She grew angrier, clenching her other hand into a fist and swinging it at Ivan Horne.

Ivan Horne instantly became ice-cold, his handsome face as rigid as marble, devoid of any lines.

He tilted his head, dodging Florence Ford's swinging fist.

The two began to engage in a fight in the backyard.

Florence Ford was flustered and embarrassed, also consumed by jealousy.

Why are all the good men attracted to Camila Ruiz?

Is the heavens' favoritism indeed that biased?

Florence Ford became Jimmy Horne's personal bodyguard leader due to her extraordinary skills. After exchanging a few moves with Ivan Horne, she handled him with caution, focusing her efforts.

Ivan Horne actually lacked real combat experience, while Florence Ford had much more. If it weren't for Ivan Horne's intelligence, in this match, he'd surely lose to Florence Ford.
