Chapter 99: The 5th Member Part I

“What?! So, it means that you and Vincent are being targeted by the hunters now?” The shout came from Warunya who was now covering her mouth in shock.

“Yeah, that’s our problem,” Maysa replied weakly.

“They do all this just to steal your items?” Warunya kept on asking.

“Yup, just that.”

“What is this?” Hearing the answer, the pretty girl was speechless. She had never heard about the hunters before and never thought that there would be this kind of cheaters in the game.

“I heard about them, too.” Tunwa interrupted.

“You did?” Nuchjaree, who was sitting next to him, asked.

“Yeah.” The man nodded. “Currently, these item hunters are being the hot issue on the web board I’m on. All my friends have already been robbed by these guys. And the funny thing is the GMs can’t even catch any of them.”

“Can’t they trace the IP address?” The girl friend suggested.

“Well, the question is not whether we can trace the IP or not, but whether the GMs even know who the bad guys are?” Tunwa said tiredly. “These players are such a pain, and they work very well as a team. They can commit it quickly before the victims even see their faces. And how are the GMs gonna get any clue about them? Also, the cheating programs they use are very scary, that the Pride’s staff have to fix the problems day by day, now.”

“Just like he said,” Maysa added with a shrug. And Warunya were just looking left and right, starting to feel bad about it.

“So, Vincent currently is on a run from them right now?”

“Not running but trying to figure out how to deal with them.” The little one corrected. “Don’t forget about how crazy that guy can be. You might already know from when we were party the last time.”

Warunya smiled wryly at her words, because yes, she could remember it so well that Vincent was a truly crazy man. The one who laughed as he fought like that, she just saw this kind of person with her own eyes for the first time!

“Then why did you and he separate?” Her sweet voice asked softly. The dark eyes were restless like she did not want to look at the other in the eyes, making the one who was questioned raised her eyebrows confusedly.

“Did you two fight?”

“Oh, no, we didn’t.” Maysa waved her hand. “I’m the one who told our group to split. Also, Ae and I have some business to discuss in Tristan, so I sent Vincent to farm for levels instead.”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah, also, it’s better for Vincent and me to stay away from each other for a while.” She added, hands rubbing her temples. “Because it’d be too much attention if we stick together since my face is known by everyone now. So, to be safe, we need to be separated, until we figure out how to deal with the hunters.”

“That’s why you have to disguise yourself in a kid’s body?” The continuing question came, making the talkative one pause. She rolled her eyes, before scratching her cheek. The answer was yes, and no. Because she was forced against her will to be in this child’s body by this guy!

She finished thinking, before glancing at Manoch. And the vexing merchant knew that he was getting insulted by the look in her eyes, but still acting casually that it made him slapable so much.

“Something like that,” Maysa replied with clenching teeth.

Seeing the jaw clenching of little Maysa, Warunya and friends turned to giggle with each other, knowing that she was not quite pleased with this body.

“And for this reason, I’d like to ask you a favor, Warunya.” The girl said to change the topic, her cheek started blushing uncontrollably. And Maysa could only curse in her mind.

“Ask me a favor?”

“Not just you, but you guys, too.” Maysa looked at Nuchjaree and Tunwa.

“Us, too?” The two repeated at the same time.

“Yes. This is very important. I’d like to ask you not to share the information about Vincent with anyone else, please. Because I can’t trust anyone now, except for you guys.”

After her sentence, the trio glanced at each other before giving a big smile.

“I can do that, babe.” Tunwa replied clearly. “It’s just a simple thing that we’ll always be happy to help.”

“That’s right, May.” Nuchjaree smiled widely. “Orn’s friend is our friend, too. Also, if it’s about Vincent, Orn’d be delighted to help, too, right, Sis?” Not just saying, but Nuchjaree slightly elbowed her best friend in the side of her body, too, while curling her lips into a grin.

“Nuch!” Warunya cried, her smooth face getting hot. “Just don’t mind her. And about the thing you ask, it’ll be our pleasure to help. We don’t have any bad intention against you guys, anyway.”

“Thank you.” Maysa smiled politely, but her heart felt strangely troubled by Nuchjaree’s words.

“So, that was all you wanted to talk about with us today?” Warunya asked.

“Oh, there’s another thing.” She clapped her hands as if she had just realized something. “It’s about the item I told you to pick from earlier. I’ve brought it to you today.”

“Eh? Did you really ask for that one for me?!”

“Of course, I always keep my promises. Anyway, it’s what you deserve for helping us beat Lord Inferno, isn’t it?” Maysa winked with a cute smile. And that made Nuchjaree turn to catch eyes with Tunwa, who was looking at her confusedly, as well.

“What item, Orn?” Finally, she could not hold the question in any longer.

“It’s the items Maysa got from the boss hunting events.” The girl smiled wryly. “Yesterday, before the award ceremony started, I ran into Maysa. Then she told me to pick one rank S item as my prize for helping them beat the boss.”

“Wow, this was very generous, little one!” Tunwa praised, grinning so widely and happily that it looked like his cheeks hurt.

“And that was how it went.” Maysa shook her head slightly. “I convinced and even forced her to accept it, but Miss Warunya still didn’t seem like she wanted the item from me. Why would you have to be this humble?” She said smilingly, making the one who was questioned let out a dry laugh.

“Well, I didn’t do anything much back then.”

“(Sigh) It’s just how our girl is.” Tunwa and Nuchjaree shrugged and said some similar thing, making Maysa and Manoch let out a chuckle at the same time.

“That’s what I thought she would be like when she was with you guys, too.” The gunner said leisurely. “She’s humble, sweet, and cute, just like the main female character in an old Thai movie, don’t you think so?”

“Aw, Maysa,” Warunya whined. Her gorgeous face got even more blushed.

“That’s why the guy likes her so much.”

“Pardon?”

“Nothing, I just said that you would be liked by many guys.” She quickly changed the words before bringing her inventory window up. Her action was so cold that Warunya did not dare to do anything more than keeping her curiosity to herself.

“Hold on a sec, let me find your item.” Maysa disclaimed, and the other one just nodded in reply. The little one started finding the item in her inventory concentratedly. Her tiny hand was sliding on the screen to turn the pages until she got to the last one. But she still could not find the item she was looking for.

“Wait. There’re many items in my inventory. I probably missed it.”

“Okay.” Warunya kept on waiting smilingly.

This time the little one paid more attention to finding the item. As it could be told from her dragging Manoch to help her with this.

“You can’t find it?” The single eyelid merchant asked.

“Yeah, help me out. It looks like a thick book with a brown cover.”

“A thick book with a brown cover, is it the index of alchemy?”

“Yeah, it is.” Maysa agreed casually. But after a while, she raised her eyebrows. “Wait, how did you know that the book is called the index of alchemy?”

“How would I not, since I was the one who stuffed it in Na’s inventory myself.”

“Oh.” She drawled in understanding, before getting back on finding the item in her inventory again. Then after a few seconds, she choked on the air, before letting out a loud ‘Huh?’.

“What’d you say?”
