Chapter 84: Thada’s Warning (2) Part I
Chapter 84: Thada’s Warning (2) Part I
“So, you two know each other in real life?” The question was asked by this cute girl who was now frowning like a displeased child. Maybe this was because the man she disliked was now smiling, sipping coffee across from her.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you about this earlier,” Waree said guiltily, her slender hand shaking Maysa’s arm slightly like she was asking for forgiveness. But Maysa just rolled her eyes, before they caught the young GM again.
She was still upset about him pretending to harass her like it was just a tease like that.
“So, your brother doesn’t know, either?”
“No, he doesn’t.”
Hearing that, Maysa looked at Wisana who was sleeping again, then she gave Thada a deadly gaze.
“And what’s your business here? Just how you forced us to come out in the public was awful enough, and you even harassed me, too. Just wait, I’m going to report you to the office and get you fired!”
Her threat made the other one laugh. The pair of amber eyes were looking at the younger one in front of them with half amused, half adored. Then he shrugged slightly.
“Just do as you’re pleased.”
“Is that a challenge?” Maysa raised her voice.
“No, it’s not. I’m just trying to tell you that the Pride will not fire me for these reasons.” He took another sip of the coffee. “Also, I told you I was kidding earlier. Well, do you think I wanted to kiss you so much, huh?”
“Kidding?!” the victim said, eyebrows raised. “God, that was what you call it ‘kidding’, Mister Thada? Because I also want you to know that was an ‘indecent assault’. If this was outside the game, you were probably going to jail right now!”
She shouted angrily, but the young GM just burst out laughing like it was the funniest thing ever. And Waree just shook her head, tired of the bad habit of her acquaintance.
“Da, please be nice to May.” She said, then she turned to smile ashamedly at Maysa. “My apologies for Thada. He liked teasing girls like that when he was in the U.S., too. But it was a bit different because those girls seemed to be okay with it.”
“Narcissistic jerk.” A burning insult came up, making the one who was laughing shut his mouth.
“Come on,” Waree tried to compromise. “Please forgive him just this one time, May, for my sake. And don’t worry, I’ll educate this man later.”
When her friend said that, Maysa did not have any choice but to get along. But when she saw the cause, who was faking a guilty face, she just felt her hand itch with a desire to slap that fair face off somehow!
“Fine! But don’t forget to educate your friend that women aren’t objects that he can do whatever to them. And if there’s another time, he’s going to meet my lawsuit!”
“I will. Thank you so much for understanding me,” the brown-haired girl said with relief and did not forget to send a reproaching look at the tall man sitting next to her. So, Thada creased his lips, rolling eyes disregarding.
“So, why are you here? You haven’t answered me yet.”
Hearing Maysa ask with a cold voice, he then realized the distressing fact that Maysa would never have a nice attitude toward him in this lifetime. But whatever, it was no use provoking her again. He did not want her to start crying like earlier and himself to get scolded by Waree.
“Hey! Then hurry up and start talking. Is your mouth sucking at something or what?” She asked impatiently. Thada sneakily glanced at Waree for help, but she just responded with a shrug, implying that he had better not try to mess with her.
“I came here to warn you about something,” the GM started his point.
“Warn me? About what? If this is about you doubting that we might use a cheating program, we already have proven that we did not. So, what’s the problem now?”
“No, this is not about that,” Thada corrected patiently. “Don’t worry about that now. Also, I didn’t mean to do that in the first place. And I apologize if those words displeased you. But believe me, I’d never do something against my morals.”
The deep voice did not sound as gentle as usual. Instead, it sounded a lot more serious and formal. He did not have the annoying smug grin that she hated on his face anymore. And that was the first time she saw him being serious. So, Maysa decided to be calm, narrowing her eyes.
“If this was not it, then what are you warning us about?” the woman asked with a bit better attitude.
“I’m here to talk about the items you requested from us. I think you knew that the game’s been updated to a 9.0 patch version already, didn’t you?”
“Yeah, and...?”
"I want to warn you about the items you have now."
His words made the black-haired girl raise her eyebrows, turning to catch eyes with Waree, who was shaking her head as a response that she did not understand either.
“Briefly, the new patch that was just updated has a change about S ranked item ownership to create more balance to the server.”
“S ranked item ownership?” The girls asked in unison.
“That’s right.” Thada nodded. “Let me explain, first, currently the server has added a new rank for items, separated from rank S items, which is called key items.”
“Key items?” Maysa repeated confusedly.
“To make it easier to understand, this rank is like legendary items. At first, I suggested just calling them rank SS items, too, but the team said it was too plain. And finally, we came up with the key items.”
“And how is it different from rank S item?” Maysa asked straight to the point because she was so fed up with him babbling about himself that she did not have to do anything with it.
“They are completely different from each other.” Of course, Thada knew what she was thinking, so he let out a sigh. “For example, the Illusion that you own, and Nam’s Babylon necklace.”
The slender one looked down at the item in her hand, then looked up at Thada to tell him to continue.
“The difference between them is that the necklace can be found on the market, even though it’s an S ranked item. Unlike the maya illusion that Maysa owns, it’s a rare item that has only two pieces on the server. One is with you, and the other is with Valentine, one of the four gods.”
The name Valentine made Maysa pause for a short moment before she hid her expression very quickly.
“So, the difference is the number of the item. That’s all, right?”
“No, it’s not just that,” the GM corrected with a plain voice. “I just want to tell you that the illusion is a weapon that cannot be remade anymore. From now on, there will be only two players who can own these items.”
The pair of grey eyes narrowed down after she heard that.
“And why can’t it be remade anymore?”
“Because the item’s formula has been destroyed.”
“What?” Maysa yelled. “What do you mean by that? The one who invented it had to register it with the association of item development, right? So, the formular had to be kept on the server as well. Then, who would be able to destroy it?”
“I would. I’m the one who destroyed the formula.”
