Chapter 81: Thada’s Warning (1) Part II
“Say, you requested an interesting item, too.” She was pointing at the round locket with a six-pointed star symbol that the other was wearing around her neck. The brown-haired girl just gave a knowing smile in reply, before picking it up to look.
“It was the item I used when I was playing in the U.S. server.”
“I see. I heard the players could only transfer the character to a new server, but they needed to leave the items on the old one, right?”
“Right.” The woman nodded in agreement. “This item is very important to me. I’ll be able to fight with my best abilities with it,” she said, caressing the six-pointed star necklace cherishingly.
The item on the slender neck of Waree was called, ‘The summoning of Babylon necklace,’ the best item for players in the summoner class. Even though it was a lot cheaper than Maysa’s items, it was still worth about 130 million coins anyway.
“Anyway, are you really sure that you want me to have this item?” Waree asked doubtfully.
“Why not?”
“Well, aren’t these the prizes you and Na deserve after all? I didn’t take part in this, and I just joined your party after the events. Then to think about this, it’s kind of...”
“Hey! Don’t be too courteous.” Maysa hit her friend’s hand softly. “You know that Wisana and I didn’t care much about these things anyway. Look at him, since when did he care? He didn’t even touch his shared items piling around here.”
She said, pointing her chin to the said man who was singing off keys with Manoch on the other side.
After seeing that, Waree just let out a dry laugh in response.
“And don’t you deserve it, too? When you’re already one of our friends. Well, you’re even closer to our leader than I am, actually,” the gunner said jokingly, making the other one burst out with a laugh.
“It sounds like you’re being sarcastic.”
“No, I’m not. I’m being honest here,” Maysa replied, while she was trying very hard to hold back her laughter.
After they chitchatted for a while, the pair of grey eyes glanced at the guys who were still drinking. Then she made a tired face.
“Talking about being courteous, why can’t Ae be just a half like you?”
Maysa said, before rubbing on her temples. The listener raised her eyebrows confusedly.
“Why is that?”
“Well, just look at him. He’s not courteous at all, even though he didn’t take part in killing Lord Inferno. Wisana just spoke for him saying that he helped by inventing the butterfly effect scarf, and he just asked deadpan for his share, too.”
“Well, I saw he didn’t seem to want it at first either, did he? If Na didn’t insist, he wouldn’t take it anyway.” Waree was trying to make an excuse for him.
“I know, but he didn’t have to be that happy!” Maysa could only complain, clenching her jaws as she got pissed off. “And look at what he asked for, the unlimited service robot! It looks so out of the fantasy theme!”
She rolled eyes to the white little robot that was playing songs for those drunk heads, then she shook her head.
Of course, this robot was an S ranked item, too. It was a service robot that was very popular among the players in the merchant class because of its versatility, which ranged from doing housework to being a sidekick in an urgent fight. Also, it could be upgraded and modified the other abilities limitlessly.
But looked at them now! Was it really appropriate to use this expensive robot to serve their cocktail and turn it into a karaoke box like this?!
“I’m so fed up with them,” Maysa said, displeased, and Waree just forced out a wry smile.
“What was it again? Did you girls talk crap about us behind our backs?” A slurring voice came from the cocktail party, before a tall figure of a moron jumped at her, putting his arm around her neck, almost making the smaller one fall.
“Ew, you’re reeking of alcohol, Wisana.”
“Not that reeked, babee.”
The man laughed joyfully, while he was messing her black hair up like it was a toy.
“You’re wasted now, brother. I think you better get some rest.” Waree tried to help get his hand off Maysa, and she would have succeeded if it was not so sticky like a Velcro. Wisana’s hand was still clinging to Maysa’s neck tightly, making the victim shake her head apathetically.
“It’s okay, Nam. I’ve already been used to him being an awful hugger like this. And soon you’ll be, too,” she said unbothered, waving her hand as a sign for the other to sit back down.
“He...So, Na likes hugging you a lot. Does it mean that you guys are...”
Her sentence stopped mid-way before she smiled knowingly instead. Maysa blushed right after she saw that.
“Are you crazy?!” She scolded with a high-pitched tone. “We’re not a thing, really. We just...”
“Love each other so much.” suddenly Wisana yelled out, reddening her cheeks. And Waree who was watching them, gave a playful look before she started teasing them with a sound, ‘Aw...’.
“Moron! Why’d you said that? Your sister is going to misunderstand us now!” But he did not stop grinning so widely. Instead, he held up her hands and waved them, unbothered.
“I’m-just-kidding.” Then he burst out laughing by himself. And May was half annoyed, half amused with the silly drunk acts of the man here.
“Well, Na, wasn’t it inappropriate to tease a girl like that? Don’t do this again, okay?”
“Right, right. How could you say such a thing about a girl, bro?” After a moment, Manoch joined in from behind, even though he could not really walk straight now. The glasses merchant sat down next to Waree purposefully, before giving her a big smile.
“And what’s the problem with that?” Wisana asked, raising his voice.
“Well, nothing. It’s just that you shouldn’t joke about it. If you don’t like someone, then say you don’t like them. But if you do like someone, then you tell them you like them. Just like how I’ll do it.” Then he turned to the smaller one next to him, before putting his arm around her neck like his bro did.
“Waree, I think I like...”
THUDD!!!
A second later, a kick of someone went straight in the chest of the drunken guy with full force, sending the thin figure of him rolling on the ground before he could stop. Then he lay still there.
“BWUHHAHAHAHA! You thought you could flirt with my sister when I was drunk? In your dream, scumbag! Even though I got stabbed, dying, I’d still get up to kick those who dared hit on her! HAHAHAHA.” The possessive brother shouted. He was laughing with his arm staying in the same position, which was a hand hugging around Maysa’s shoulder and a foot pointing to the direction where it just sent Manoch to.
“That was a bit too harsh, brother!” Waree scolded, displeased after she saw her other friend getting lulled into sleep by a kick. But when she turned to be serious with her brother, he was already passed out on Maysa’s lap now.
The scene got the wearied face out of Maysa.
“See, you were so wasted like this, but still trying to be possessive over your sister,” she said, pinching on his nose with aggressive endearment. “Just the cocktail could make people get ridiculously silly like this.”
“They’re kind of cute, though,” the clear voice added, but the other frowned.
“You all are silly.”
She said, moving on to pinch him on the cheek now, quite adoring the man’s sleeping face.
“Aw, your eyes look so soft when you look at him, Miss Maysa.”
