Chapter 722: I’ll Revolt Against the World! Part I

Chapter 722: I’ll Revolt Against the World! Part I

“Welcome to the Pride world, Master.”

A sweet voice greeted him as he walked in along with a cold breeze and showers of rain. His amber eyes blinked several times before he looked around.

He only had worn pants and boots on. His torso was bare. Yet, he did not care about his state at all since everything around him was even more surprising.

“What the hell is this?”

Wisana muttered with a confused face. He could only see empty spaces and wet grounds without any trees or buildings in sight. There was even a huge hole from the disaster in front of him.

The rain was heavy now.

But what he was seeing was so clear that he went still.

“Where’s this, Alice? Why’s it...”

“Here’s in the central area of Pride. We’re on the 368th road, the closest one to Tristan.”

“What...”

Wisana asked through his teeth.

His eyes were fixed on the hole in front of him. If this really was the 368th road of Pride, this would be a nightmare. It used to be such a green road with fields of grass and flower gardens. It was the road that led to Tristan, the capital city of this game.

If this was the 368th road...

...Where’s Tristan?

“Don’t tell me that the hole is...”

“That’s correct. That’s Tristan. What used to be, that is.”

Wisana pressed his lips hard without saying anything. The last memory that he had before he went offline was so bright. The explosion of Lucius’s gigantic energy ball was too much to bear. He did not think it would turn out like this...

What the hell was this power, Lucius?!

“Yikes... This is more than I’ve imagined.”

A cheeky voice sounded from behind. The tall figure stopped at Wisana’s side and put his hand on Wisana’s shoulder like he always did. He covered his eyes from the sun and looked around.

“Mr. Sander,” Wisana said.

“Damn, only several years and Lucius’s gotten this bad.” He scratched his wet head. “This is a big problem. To be honest, the only ones who can take him down are Winter and Viola. Even I won’t be able to do it. I’m not trying to discourage you, but stealing Jinnie back isn’t easy. You should prepare for the worst, boy.”

Wisana did not answer. He still looked ahead, even though the rain was pouring hard. He could sense the strange gloomy aura everywhere.

“That’s not entirely true.”

The voice of a girl distracted them. Both men looked back and saw Rattana and Thada.

“It’s true that Lucius’s very good, but don’t forget that a part of that is because he has Alice,” Thada said. “At that time, Mr. Vincent didn’t have Alice with him. Now, the chance would be 50-50.”

“Nah, this boy’s still at a disadvantage.”

Sander got both GMs parting their lips.

“What do you mean, Mr. Sander?” Rattana frowned.

“Familiarity.”

“Familiarity?” Both of them harmonized.

“Yes, Lucius is the Core and he’s connected to the Pride system. That means he has brain waves that are completely compatible with Alice’s. Meanwhile, this boy’s just been together with Alice for several days and his brain hasn’t completely synchronized with the Pride system. I don’t have to tell you about how different they are, right? Even Viola, who’d been in synced with Alice for a longer time, could not withstand it. Experience points count, too, and also the difference in levels. Even though he has Alice to support him, the other has one, too, and he’s more skilled.”

The long explanation got both GMs standing still.

What Sander just said was true. The ugly truth was that Lucius had become the worst villain. Even without Alice, his clever brain and experiences were above and beyond Vincent.

“Not yet!”

However, Wisana shouted through the heavy rain with a big smile. Everyone stared at him. They halted when they saw the smile on his face.

“There has to be a way,” Wisana said. “As long as we’re still breathing. As long as there’s still the light at the end of the tunnel.”

He pointed at something about two kilometers away and everyone looked at it. There was something on the ground so small that they had to stare. Only Wisana smiled.

“What’s that, boy? I may be old, but my eyesight’s still good. How can anyone see something that far away?”

Sander said. The rain kept falling down.

“I mean... I think it looks familiar.” Rattana said softly.

“What is it, Mr. Vincent?” Thada asked.

“Our hope.”

----------------

“Damn! This baby’s tough!”

Sander laughed. He knocked on the huge metal piece in front of him, while Wisana walked through the mud in front of him and climbed the ladder to the ‘baby’ with a smiling face. He patted it lovingly.

“You did so well, Alexander.”

He said and sighed.

“Even though the outside is a bit worn, it seems like it still works. Damn, the whole capital city’s gone, but the ship still stands. As expected of the Nemesis’s ship.”

Then, Sander jumped down from the small window in the middle of the ship and landed on a mud pool that Rattana was trying so hard to cross without messing up her skirt.

“Ahhh! Mr. Sander! Can you stop being a monkey for five seconds!?”

The GM screeched. Her white skirt was full of mud.

“Woah, lady Anne, stop being so noble!” Sander said.

“I’m not! You’re just too low!”

“Tsk! You annoying brat.”

“What did you just say?!”

They started fighting. This was the first time that Wisana saw her like this. He always thought that she was such a gentlewoman. She was kind of cute when she acted like this.

He laughed.

“It’s always like this when they get together,” Thada said wearily while walking towards Wisana. “...We should shelter ourselves from the rain here, Mr. Vincent. It should take a little more time for June and Alice to search for the enemies. It wouldn’t be good to wander around pointlessly. We don’t know when we’ll run into those people.”

“Mhmm.”

Wisana agreed and looked up at the sky.

“At least, I hope the rain stops soon.”

“That’s true.” Thada sighed. “...And what do you want to do with this ship? I hope you’re not thinking about using it in a fight. Not only the fix won’t be worth it, but it also won’t stand a chance against Lucius. What’s the hope you’re talking about?”

Wisana smirked. He nodded at the inside and Thada turned to where that was. At the same time, the door there was opened widely as if to welcome back its master.

“Follow me.”

Then, Wisana disappeared inside. Thada blinked several times before he glanced at his friend and Sander, who were still fighting. Eventually, he sighed and followed Wisana in.

Along the narrow path inside the ship, it was clear that it was still in the best condition, unlike the outside, even though the lights were flickering due to electrical issues. Other than that, it did not look like a fallen ship.

Whoever built this ship was so amazing...

Thada could not help but admire the durability of the ship, including its great potential in the war.

“This room.”

The walking stopped. Thada halted when he saw that Wisana was in front of a big metal door with a ‘Main Engine Room’ sign on it.

The door was opened right away after Wisana put his hand on the print scanner. The cold vapor gushed out of the inside, making Thada halt. Wisana walked through without fear. There were so many strange-looking machines in the room. There were electrical cords intertwining from the edge to the circular base in the middle of the room.

The metal base was about a meter high from the floor. There was a golden yellow crystal sitting on it. Even though the room looked so worn out, the crystal was still bright and beautiful.

“That’s the sacred crystal,” Thada spoke through his teeth. “That’s impossible. It should have been modified into a ship. Why’s it still here?”

“You’re wrong, Thada.” Wisana turned to him and smiled. “My men didn’t use it for the ship. They only extracted the energy from it. We didn’t use it to its best potential. We only needed its ability and endless power.”

“Endless power?”
