Chapter 71: The 4th Member Part V

Chapter 71: The 4th Member Part V

“What do we do now?”

“I don’t know!” She shouted. “I was begging her to help go easy on us, but she just kept rejecting me. I also tried to invite some of my friends to join, and one was interested. Damn. Why is it so difficult just founding a guild?”

She finished before holding up a hand to mess with her hair. Wisana frowned, eyebrows knitting together.

“I don’t understand why four members?”

The question made her let out a long sigh, leaning back on the couch defeatedly.

“There have to be at least four members in a guild because there are 4 essential positions to take responsibility for and claim some privileges.”

Maysa spoke as she was holding up four fingers.

“The positions include a leader, a deputy leader, a chief of staff, and the chief of finance. Each position has a different responsibility. For example, the leader has to take care of the members, and they tend to have absolute power in making decisions. They will have some privileges for some events, moreover, they will gain special attack skills and stuff.

The deputy or the second has to coordinate with the leader and the members. Even though they don’t have the same absolute power, they still have to act in place of the leader in the event of the leader’s absence. People in this role will earn some defensive skills.

And for the chief of staff, they’re like the crisis manager and the adviser of the guild. They make plans to achieve the guild’s goals. In this position, they’ll get the analysis skills.

And the last one, the chief of finance. They take care of money and items for the guild. Their roles sometimes include improving items and weapons, too. Of course, in this position, the privileges are commerce skills and item creation skills.”

After she finished, Wisana made a sour face, thinking that he should have had a pen and paper to take note of this lecture. He could not process all this information at one time!

“And now we need just one more member!” Maysa bawled, spatting her lap in frustration.

“Don’t you have other friends, May?”

“No, I don’t,” the gunner whined. “I’ve tried inviting so many people, but they weren’t interested. Well, to form a new guild is quite hard to do currently, since there already are countless of them. Also, most of the guilds affiliate with the four gods, making it more difficult for the new guilds to make progress. And I didn’t want to tell them that Vincent was in our guild, too. I was afraid it would be another issue for us,” she said, leaning on Wisana’s shoulder tiredly. “I know you’re curious about the four gods, I’ll tell you about this later. I’m just too tired right now.”

“It’s okay. You should rest. We can work this out later, too.”

“Thanks.”

Wisana held up his hand to stroke on his friend’s hair gently to soothe her. And the one being soothed almost purred with comfort after she was exhausted from walking around the city all day.

“And the positions you were talking about, have you decided on who would get each role?” Wisana started a chat.

“I have, actually,” Maysa replied. “The leader is you, the chief of staff is me, and the finance is Ae.”

“Huh?! I am the leader? Why wouldn’t you take the position yourself?” He yelled, making the one by his shoulder crease her face, turning away like she was annoyed by his loud voice.

“Don’t shout. And yeah, isn’t it obvious? You’re the brave Vincent, aren’t you? Who would have fit perfectly in the leader position more than this.”

“I thought you would take the position.”

“At first, I thought so, too. But the privileged skills in the chief of staff position would suit me better, so I want to take it. Or, would you prefer having Ae as a leader? Then, just count me out of this guild.”

Listening to her explanation, he did not have anything more to argue. He agreed that a position that required more brain would fit Maysa better, but it was a bit off that he was the one who took the guild leader position here!

“So, you guys just need one more member to found the guild, right?”

“Yeah,” Maysa drawled in reply, smiling relaxingly as she was having the guild leader massaging her temples, looking most comfortable. She was so comfortable that she did not even notice that it was not Wisana who was speaking.

“Well, I’ve been listening for a while, and it might be rude to bug in. But if you don’t mind, may I take the deputy leader position in your guild?”

“I just told you to be the leader, and why are you asking me to be the deputy...”

Her words died off mid-sentence when she realized that the voice just now was too sweet to be Wisana’s. The young face leaned out to see who was speaking immediately.

“Can I? Er... May, right?” Waree said with a polite voice and a friendly smile.

“Are you really seriously joining our guild?” Wisana asked loudly after he could process her words.

“Yup, your guild looks fun.”

“Really?! Great! See, May, we’ve got the fourth member!”

“Wait, wait, hold on. I don’t mind having a new member, could you please tell me who this girl is?”

Maysa asked confusingly. She had never expected someone asking to join in this easy. Even a few hours ago, she was turning the Pride upside down to look for a member. And when she would get one, the member was just sitting there?

“She’s Nam, my sister,” Wisana introduced her proudly.

“Your sister. You have a sister that plays the game, too? Is she a new player like you?”

The owner of those grey eyes said as she was forcing out a dry smile. Well, if there were a new member, she would prefer the skilled one. Because only the ones they had here were almost not enough to fool anyone now!

“Don’t worry about that. Nam’s way more skilled than me.”

“Okay but leave the skilled or not alone first. Because the most important thing is, does she know our real intention?”

Maysa tried to lower her voice when she talked about the last part. And of course, the sister supporter nodded rapidly, before he placed a hand on Waree’s shoulder.

“I’ve told her everything, so don’t worry about this. Also, she’s my sister with a personality that I assure you’re gonna like her.”

“But, well, it’s kind of too sudden. Let me think...”

“May! Count her in, now!” Suddenly, a shout like thunder came from the back of the store, almost leaving no time for Maysa to cover her ears. When she looked in the direction of the voice, she saw Manoch stomping straight to them with an extremely serious expression.

“What’s wrong with you, Ae? Why did you shout all of a sudden like that?”

“Shut up. she seems to be a nice person also, very cute. Then what are you waiting for? Na insists that his sister is good. And she asks to join us when we’re in need. Do it, do it, do it, there’s no time to overthink now.”

Seeing Manoch enthusiastically convinced to take Waree in like that, the frenemy like her could not help but raise eyebrows in surprise.

“What is this really about, Ae? I’ve never seen you backing up someone like this all my life.”

“I’m not backing up anyone. I just told the facts. Also, we really need a member to found a new guild, don’t we?”

“Ae, I know what you’re doing here.” The cold warning from the same possessive brother made the other man feel a shiver in his spine.

“Please, Na. You’re just gonna reject her out because of this? Come on bro, you know she’s the most important member for us right now, don’t you agree?!”

Manoch had a point, but his point also had the other intention that Wisana wanted to spit his forehead so much.

“He’s right, May. Let’s just accept Nam into our guild.” But he could not argue with that, so he turned to Maysa with his begging eyes. And when every eye was looking at her at the same time, how could she not get soft and give in. So, the guild’s chief of staff sighed, nodding grudgingly.

“Fine. If you insist, I’ll trust Nam to be our guild’s deputy.”

“Really?” Wisana put on a big grin.

After she nodded to confirm, the man happily pulled her into a soft hug right away. He also thanked her by messing up her hair, getting another joyful laugh from the group.

“Alright, now that we’ve got all the members, then let’s fill in the form. I’ll bring it back to the guild office before it gets dark,” Maysa commanded amusedly.

The Nemesis guild just got another member out of the blue. Wisana was so glad to have Waree in the same guild. So, he would be able to see the endearing smile inside the game, too. And it was fun to watch their guild making another progress.

Who would have thought that their meeting at the small potion store between Maysa and Wisana, would be the beginning of their limitless adventure in the future?

“Welcome to the Nemesis, lil sis, no, Deputy.” Wisana turned to smile at Waree.

“Yes. Thanks for having me, brother, no, Leader,” she replied with a delighted smile.
