Chapter 681: Desperation Part V

“A gunner wants to do a close-range combat? Is this bravery or foolishness?”

In the blink of an eye, Valentine approached the target. She shot the illusional shots at Lucius. The man dodged it fairly easily. It was as if they were dancing gorgeously, yet deadly.

Lucius leaned back a little, and, while Valentine was not careful, he put his hand on Valentine’s face and ignited the bomb in close range!

Valentine was fully hit. She was thrown off backwards. However, she flashed a smile and Lucius had to narrow his eyes.

Valentine did not hesitate to throw her Illusion up high. Lucius knew right away that the close-range combat was a decoy!!

And now, a man was above Lucius. He was a tall man with only one eye, Vis the Eagle Eye!!

He grabbed the gun that Valentine threw and dashed down about an inch away from Lucius. He pointed the gun at Lucius’s chest!

“Even if it’s you, this close is hard to dodge!”

Vis shouted and pulled the trigger.

The gunshot echoed. Yet, there was no damage to be seen from Lucius. He looked nonchalant. When Vis took a closer look, the bullet was the same as before, slowed down, and stopped in front of Lucius.

“W... What?!” Vis screeched.

At that moment, Lucius grabbed Vis’s leg in mid-air. The man halted and was about to flip back. However, Lucius foresaw that. He looked at Vis coldly before he roundhouse kicked Vis’s neck. His brain shook so much he almost blacked out!

Then, Lucius threw Vis up high and shot an explosive magic at him. Vis dropped to the ground!

“It was a good trick, Valentine. Your Signetic is ‘Scan’, which allows you to find weaknesses in your enemy with your nerves. What if your enemy doesn’t have any weakness? What’s the use of it?”

Valentine could only open her eyes widely. She glanced at Vis and realized that only a single hit of his got her friend unconscious!

Suddenly, a roar sounded, and the gigantic body of the Bloody Iron Beast was there. He was back to his beast form!!

The heavy fist had been thrown only an inch away from Lucius. Even though he was attacked from behind and could not sense the brain wave, at the moment when he sensed the killing intent, his body moved instinctively. Even Wisana or Lavi would have been hit!

“Bursting out the Signetic wave to conceal your brain wave? Interesting, you in a beast form. It’s a shame that you can’t possibly hide your killing intent completely.”

Marcus threw another punch without all the care in the world. Whenever he was in a beast form, he would only do anything to win!

However, Lucius dodged it easily again. It was like a matador and a bull. Even though he only evaded and Marcus gained more speed every time he attacked, it was only a child’s play for Lucius.

“Even if you’re a beast that feels no pain, if you’re hit in the essential organ, it must at least sting a little,” Lucius said and reached his hand out to grab Marcus’s mask. “Where’s the mad beast? I don’t see any.”

Sounds of explosions continued. The explosive magic got Marcus so hard that he writhed back and forth on the floor. The healing factor did not even have the chance to activate. His face received so much damage that it started to show. Then, Lucius cruelly pulled the mask off his face!

The beast screamed so loudly. The mask was a part of his body, so pulling it off like that was no different from skinning his face alive!

Crimson blood splattered from his face to his body. Lucius was emotionless. The big man rolled on the ground pathetically.

“The Bloody Mask is too dangerous, especially in the hands of a monster like you. Allow me to destroy it.”

“D... Don’t!”

Marcus tried to stop him, even though he was still covering his face on the ground.

Then, Lucius crushed the Bloody Mask to bits. Marcus gritted his teeth and pushed himself up. His face was soaked in blood and covered with wounds.

“Y... You!!”

He growled furiously. The last bit of his strength commanded him to dash at Lucius, who was nonchalant about it. He raised his hand up and brushed Marcus off like a fly. Then, he put his hand on Marcus’s chest softly.

“Now I get one.”

The same ray that hit Wisana pierced through Marcus’s chest. The big man opened his eyes widely before he dropped to the ground. His consciousness started to fade.

However, after he took care of Marcus, everywhere was shaking so hard that Lucius had to turn around. Lavi, The God of Thousand Weapons, was there.

There were as many as five hundred swords floating behind him. They were all that he had. He was going all out!!

Then, he burst out another incredible power. He was standing still without anything to shield him, yet he dodged the hits by only moving parts of his body where it was necessary. Lucius moved his body parts up and down and he evaded every single hit that used to take down Marcus earlier. This had become a game for him.

What Lavi saw got him dropping down on his knees. He was speechless. Every sword plunged into the ground uselessly. There was not a single scratch on him!!

“T... This is crazy.”

“Is that all?” Lucius asked. “Now it’s my turn.”

In the blink of an eye, he appeared again next to Lavi. It was too fast for anyone to see. Before he even realized it, Lucius hit Lavi’s neck with his hand and strangled him. The smaller man was lifted off the ground.

“A... Agh!”

Lavi could not speak. He could not even breathe. His eyes got so red, and he was about to die. He tried to swing his arms to fight back, but it was not enough for Lucius to release him.

“The Warrior’s Grave isn’t something a baby like you should play with. Allow me to destroy this dangerous item.”

Lucius crushed the necklace on Lavi’s neck to bits along with Lavi’s neck. The smaller man twitched. He knew right away that his neck was broken.

“I’ll teach you what the real attack is, Lavi.”

Lucius threw him up high before he called a red energy ball out and threw it up, too. The energy ball changed into thousands of energy strings that wrapped around Lavi, who was slowly falling down.

“The second one.”

The explosion was so bright that Valentine had to cover her face to protect her from the massive heat. She frantically looked around for Lavi’s body, but she did not find it.

He was apparently smashed to bits cold-bloodedly!!

The lavender eyes were opened so widely. Fear suddenly hit her so hard that she had goosebumps all over. She turned to the invincible man.

“Now, there’re only you and Sven.” Lucius turned back to her. “Don’t be afraid, Valentine. I’ll end it in a blink. I’ll make the four gods the past!”

“....”

Valentine was speechless. She could not even stand up from the last hit.

Two of the four gods had already perished. And they were the most powerful ones!

Lucius had not even gone all out. The two players who were the best in this world had not made him sweat a drop. He was still nonchalant as if what he did was so easy that a two-year-old can do!

Valentine could only swallow her saliva. She tried to look for a way out, but it was so dark!

This was a total disaster for Pride.
