Chapter 655: A Counter Plan Part I
Chapter 655: A Counter Plan Part I
“Aghh! What are these things?!”
“Hey! Don’t be afraid! They’re only dolls!”
“I... I can’t... They’re undead!”
“Cut their heads off and It’ll be over.”
“No can do. We tried both the head and the legs, and they can still move.”
“Burn it all! AHHHHHHH!”
“W... Woahhh! Go away, freaks!”
The continuous screams sounded on the battlefield. The disarray hit them hard like ocean waves. Not only was the puppet army strong, but they were also very difficult to kill. If they were not cut to pieces, they would still be fighting. They did not even care who was who.
A lot of people had died because of them. So many of the players had been reduced in a short time.
“Scream more. Moan more. Make more of that scared face~!”
Miguel, the puppet controller, said with a cheery, yet terrifying, voice. Her facial expression showed that she was having fun. The more the puppets killed the players and the more she saw how much the players were horrified of them, the more satisfied and spasm she felt!
“Yes, those faces. Be scared more and remember that you’re only worthless human beings. You’re only a tiny piece in this world. Now, get lost.”
Miguel talked to herself. She moved her fingers as if she was dancing.
“Yes, just like that. You can never get to the center of the city as long as I’m here as the last protector!”
She yelled like a madman.
Suddenly, she was startled. She could feel the danger from her nerves that were yanked so harshly as if they were electrically shocked.
Lighting Vortex
Puppet Magic Dummy
Crash!!
Both skills were used almost at the same time. The lightning struck at the puppet that was called up less than a meter next to Miguel.
The tanned lady jumped back. Her fingers were still controlling the puppets. Her honey-colored eyes saw that a girl, maybe less than ten years old, was standing there. She was pointing a strange-looking magic staff at her.
“I found you.”
The girl said coldly. Her ruby-red eyes stared at Miguel.
“A kid?” Miguel raised her eyebrow. “Silver hair and red eyes. You must be the Nemesis’s genius sorcerer, Angela? What a nose you have there. No, you must have followed my Signetic, right?”
The manipulator smiled.
“You’re very good, young lady, for finding me. But you’re not clever coming here alone.”
“Alone?” Angie repeated. “Are you sure about that?”
“...?!”
Miguel halted. The sound of footsteps behind her startled her. It was three steps too late to turn back and look. The last thing she saw was a boy running towards her with his fist being thrown at Miguel’s face. It was less than a centimeter away!

The damage appeared right when Miguel’s face was flung the other way. The small woman rolled on the ground. The young man narrowed his eyes.
“That was so good, Kong!” Angie cried out.
“....” However, Kongkiat did not speak.
Swooosh!
At that moment, the boy bent his head a little to dodge the attack from behind just right on time. His black eyes looked at the source and saw Miguel carrying a giant sword. She dashed at the boy and the blade was only an inch away from his neck.
“As expected.” The boy said.
“Well, well, what great reflex you have despite not possessing the Signetic, Nemesis boy.”
Miguel smiled. Kongkiat and Angie glanced at the woman who rolled on the ground just before this and saw that it was only a puppet whose face was broken because of the punch.
“How did you know that it was a decoy puppet?” Miguel asked.
“I don’t. I just think it feels weird to the touch when I punch it.”
The answer seemed to make Miguel happy. She had been observing there and knew how clever this kid was. He did not have the Signetic, yet he could fight Marcus to that extent.
It seemed like she had failed.
She did not even realize when these kids got to her.
“How did you find me?” Miguel asked.
“It’s easy,” Angie said. “We only followed the golden thread that connects you and the puppet in the battle. To fight manipulators is to kill the manipulators. It always works like that.”
The words that came out of the ten-year-old got Miguel chuckling.
Following the threads? It was not that easy without really good eyesight. Not only a big brain but also dangerous senses this girl had. Miguel broke into a sweat.
“Our job is to get rid of you who’s making things more difficult in the field, Ms. Miguel.”
Kongkiat adjusted the Grand Cross gloves on his hands. His eyes showed no mercy.
“Oh wow, this is adorable. Viola sent you cutesies to me?”
“Viola..?”
Kongkiat muttered. Then, he decided to drop it because Sander had warned him to not give in to anyone’s words.
“If you think we’re only kids, you’re going to get hurt,” Angie said bluntly.
“Even though we’re the weakest in the Nemesis, we’re with the best teamwork.”
“Teamwork?”
Miguel scoffed before she made an apologizing gesture.
“This is so cute. A teamwork?” She covered her mouth and tried not to laugh. “Speaking of that, I have one, too. And I think I have more than you do.”
Puppet Army
Seven puppets were called up in front of the kids. They were fully armed with swords, spears, axes, arrows, hammers, and guns.
“She can still have more.”
Kongkiat murmured softly. He looked around the battlefield and broke a sweat. Even though Miguel was with them right now, the puppets down there were still killing so madly.
“Why are they still moving? She should be focusing on us now.” Angie narrowed her eyes.
“I wonder why?” Miguel smirked provocatively. “I told you it’s useless. I don’t know why Viola sent you kids to me. Oh well, it doesn’t matter one or two. The result will be the same.”
“What about three?”
“...!”

In the blink of an eye, a mysterious sword slashed at Miguel’s torso. The woman jumped back. A wound appeared with blood where the cloth was torn. Her honey-colored eyes turned to look at the new guy whom she had not sensed before.
“Y... You... When did you...?” Miguel muttered softly.
A tall man put the sword on his shoulder and grinned.
“Is it too shallow? But I got you, right? I thought puppeteers like you won’t bleed because you’ve turned yourself into one.”
The man with golden brown hair and green eyes was there. His annoying presence looked so attractive when he smiled provocatively.
“Tun!” The kids beamed widely.
“Don’t ‘Tun’ me!” Tunwa scolded. “You guys are too fast, It took so much of me to catch up to you through those ghost puppets. Well, I’ll take it as a good chance to make way for our army because I’ve already destroyed all of them.”
Miguel was startled by his words.
“What do you mean?!” She yelled at him. “You destroyed all of my puppets? Don’t make me laugh!”
“Make you laugh?” Tunwa scoffed. “I’m a playful guy, but I’m not the one to joke around with my enemy, psycho lady. If you don’t believe me, just see for yourself how close we are to your base.”
Miguel’s lips parted. She looked to the east where the Nemesis was. What she saw shocked her.
The Nemesis was so close to the base. There were only William’s people who were still fighting. The puppets were all gone.
“W... What is this? Since when?”
