Chapter 639: Gungnir! Part V

Chapter 639: Gungnir! Part V

“..W... What the hell is that?!”

What she saw was something she had not seen before in her life. Above the high-rise building in the center of Tristan, a strange-looking giant machine was there. It looked like a cannon, but it was even bigger than the building itself. However, that was not what she was shocked about.

It was the horrifying dark red energy that was gathering in front of the cannon. It was as big as a gigantic balloon. The concentration of the energy was really something.

“...A cannon? What’s he shooting at?” She murmured.

The cannon was pointed at the sky. There should not be anyone there. Or was it not a cannon?

“Whatever it is, I don’t like it one bit.” She frowned. “I hope Sven sees it, too.”

----------------

“Leader, the preparation of Gungnir is not at level B. The first shooting will begin in twenty seconds. The target will be randomized. Please confirm!”

The report got William extremely excited. He took a deep breath and pointed up at the sky.

“Each of my attacks is like a key to slowly stop this war. This will be a spear that penetrates the wicked and demolishes them. Target randomization confirmed.” He swung his hand down.

“Gungnir, shoot!!”

----------------

Swooooosh~~~!!

A screech sounded so loudly. The energy ball was squeezed and minimized. The heatwave and the vibration almost destroyed the whole city. Everyone saw it and wondered what it was.

Nuchjaree, who was walking out of the alley, was wondering the same thing. Her rust-colored eyes looked up and stared at the energy ball. She broke into a sweat, the same as the players who stopped running not so far from her. Even though they were of the alliance, they did not care about Nuchjaree at all. Gungnir got them!

“It’s shooting!” Nuchjaree shouted.

BOOM!!!

The red energy was shot out and created a huge vibration. A lot of players lost their footing. The ray of light was shot up at the sky. Its diameter was around twenty meters!

The ray was shot at nothing, but it was so powerful that it painted the whole sky red. Nuchjaree did not understand what it was targeting.

Then, she realized something. There must be something behind it and it was very dangerous!

Suddenly, the red gleam slowed down and stopped mid-air. In the blink of an eye, the big ray split into thousands of tiny ones and dropped downwards. The dark brown eyes were opened widely.

“Hide! The ray is targeting randomly!”

Nuchjaree shouted before she moved back into the alley. No one seemed to listen to her. They still stared at the red gleams that looked like fireworks in a carnival. Before they realized it, the rays were raining cats and dogs!!

Even though it was a lot smaller, with the amount of it and the same destructive power. They were even more powerful. Nuchjaree did not feel anything. She walked to the end of the alley. She heard so many screams and shouts. She closed her eyes so tightly. The building next to her started to crumble and remnants of rocks and stones dropped onto her. It might be better than standing out there. Everything was so loud. She did not know what was happening. It was so fast and loud like a storm. The storm that destroyed everything!

“Woahh~! What is this? Sven, where are you? What’s happening?!”

The girl screamed with fear. Everything was so scary. Her head hurt because a rock dropped on it. Warm blood dripped down from her head to her lips.

It was only twenty seconds, yet it seemed like an hour. It started to quiet down... as if no one was left alive.

“Ouch...”

Nuchjaree moaned. She tried to take the remnants of the building out of her. She bit her lip tightly to console herself from all the pain. She had lost so much HP, even though the building was guarding her.

“Ouch!”

Nuchjaree screeched and held on to her left arm. She knew right away that the arm was in a ‘broken’ state.

“Damn it. What the hell.”

She gritted her teeth and carefully sat up. She was lucky that nothing big got her. This might be a one-in-a-million chance, judging from what she saw right now.

“W... What is this? W... Why?”

She could not even talk properly. The image before her was just too hard to take in.

It was empty. The city full of buildings was now gone. They were all destroyed to bits, leaving only debris on the ground.

“The biggest city in Pride, destroyed in a single blow?”

She murmured while trying to push herself up. Even though she was suffering from all the wounds, what she wanted to see the most got her heart pounding so much it almost stopped beating. Nuchjaree looked around.

This was not a city anymore...

But ruins!

Nuchjaree brought herself up to a higher place to have a better look. Even though she could barely move, she wanted to confirm something. When she finally reached the peak of one of the piles of rocks, she could see the destruction so clearly. Not only the city but also the players that were gone.

It was a disaster. The corpses of the Cataral members scattered around. They looked so disgusting that Nuchjaree had to cover her mouth to stop nausea. A bunch of players from the alliance were also killed by the rays.

There were no living things around here anymore. She just knew that members of the Dominion and the Pandora were the same.

“What is this? What have you done, William...?”

Nuchjaree moaned shakily. She looked at the center of the city and saw that it was the only place that had not been destroyed.

Nuchjaree gritted her teeth tightly.

“You’re there, aren’t you, coward! You’re in the safest place and using that freaking cannon to kill even your own people!”

----------------

“Gungnir is ninety-five percent accurate.”

“Gungnir is still in perfect shape. It’s not in a cooldown state and will recharge in ten minutes.”

“There’s only less than five percent of players left in the field.”

“The armies have been... destroyed.”

The reports kept coming in the control room, even though they were talking in a hoarse voice. It was maybe because the sight was too much to bear, and it would be imprinted in them for a long time...

Meanwhile, the tall figure was looking at the result with a straight face. His sharp eyes stared at the image on the monitor, seeing the debris and scattered corpses.

He started to laugh. It was a soft one before it got so loud and echoing. He could not even hide his excitement. The laughter of the evil got the soldiers goosebumps. No one dared to look at William nor went against his orders.

They understood now why only females were allowed in this control room. Girls would not dare to go against him. They did not even want to look him in the eye. They all learned that this man had no heart!

“Am I still a clown to you?!”

William screeched and smiled maliciously.

“Armies of the four gods? They’re nothing!” He grabbed his black glasses and wore them before he sat down on his chair again. “It looks like I just won the war.”
