Chapter 619: The Last Training Part I

Chapter 619: The Last Training Part I

Spark rain Arrow

A pink light arrow was shot up to the sky and disappeared. In the blink of an eye, so many golden arrows dashed back down. They stabbed at the ground and created a huge electrical wave that exploded so loudly. So many monsters in the area were burnt to bits!

“Nuchjaree killed 12 Toad Warriors and 14 Motoslams, receiving 670,000 EXP.”

“Nuchjaree had levelled up to 155.”

The AI sounded and the girl whistled with satisfaction. She was a small girl in a blue sleeveless shirt, tight pants, and her favorite sneakers.

“Finally, level 155. The monsters here in Dores are surely suitable for levelling up.”

She smiled before walking to the shade under a big tree in the middle of the field. She took the potion out to drink, while the other hand wiped her sweat off with the towel. She eventually sat down.

“You’ve gained a lot.”

A low voice sounded from behind, startling her. Her rusty eyes turned to look at the familiar man who was squatting there while opening her information screen up to see.

“Mr. Sven, even though you’re my leader now, that doesn’t mean you can pry into my personal information.”

“I’m just doing my job.”

Sven shrugged and closed the info.

“I thought you were going out for a meeting with your war allies and would be back in 2–3 days?”

Nuchjaree’s voice was blunt. The man only smiled and tilted his head.

“Let’s see... Are you sulking because I left you at the guild alone?”

“W... Why do I have to be?!”

Nuchjaree’s face flushed red. Sven sat down without saying anything more. He reached out his hand to take the potion off the tomboy girl’s hand.

“It finished earlier than expected. It looks like the allies have been wanting to invade William Star, too. They seem to be hating the face of that William guy. It’s good news because...”

“Wait, that potion!”

Nuchjaree screeched when she saw that Sven was about to drink the potion. He blinked at her. His hand with the potion bottle was frozen in place.

“What? I can’t drink?” He asked.

“T... That’s not it.” The girl’s face reddened.

“Then, why the fuss?”

He drank the potion. The girl could only raise her hands and freeze just like that. Her pretty face was so red she did not know what to say.

You idiot! That was an indirect kiss!

“And you? Have you gotten used to being here yet? I hope no one’s bullying you.”

“Mhmm... It’s all good.”

Nuchjaree said softly. Sven nodded with relief and gave the potion bottle back to her. It was obvious that he left another half in there for her. But that was not the point! It was where the lips touched!

Nuchjaree received the bottle and stared at it. She clearly hesitated, and Sven noticed it. He grinned.

“I think our lips have touched directly before. Why does the indirect one matter so much to you, Ms. Nuchjaree?”

The girl was startled.

She did not expect him to say that!

“Idiot!”

She screamed and threw the bottle at him. Of course, it was easy for Sven to grab it.

“I knew you’d be like this.” Sven chuckled.

“You’re such an insensitive man!” Nuchjaree scolded him.

“Me? Insensitive?” He laughed. “If I was one, what should I call a girl who just threw a bottle at the man she loved?”

“Who’s in love with you?!!”

Again, Nuchjaree scolded him with her red face.

Sven could only shake his head.

“I’ll try to believe you.”

He chuckled. The girl turned the other way since she did not know what to say back. She could only grumble ‘You narcissistic’.

“Let’s go back to Dores. We still have a lot to prepare.”

Sven cut the conversation short smoothly. He stood up and dusted off his pants. The girl glanced at him and said,

“I’m not going back.”

Sven just knew that this girl was mad at him again.

“What are you going to do here, then?” Sven asked.

“It’s none of your business,” she said bluntly.

Sven grinned. “Don’t tell me you’re mad at me, even though you’re way out here just to wait for me to come back? Let’s go back together.”

“W... Who’s waiting for you?!”

Of course, that was a big fat lie that even made her face more red. Sven could see through that. For Nuchjaree, the ‘no’ was equal to the ‘yes’.

She looked like she was hard to read, but not at all. She was actually easier to read than an elementary school book!

“Then, what have you been doing here?” Sven pretended to ask.

“..I... I’m fighting monsters to gain more levels and you know that. The war is approaching and I don’t want to be a dead weight!”

Sven whistled and smiled at her. He squatted down beside her again. His ruby-red eyes stared at the whiny girl, who was avoiding his gaze as if her life depended on it.

“Please... We haven’t seen each other for days, can’t we just go back to Dores together? You’ve gained a lot already. You’ve always been out here alone since I was gone, right? Let’s rest at the guild.”

He patted her head lovingly.

“I’m not a child.”

She said that, but she did not try to push him away. Sven chuckled.

“What can I do to make up for you? Can I have a hint?”

“I told you I’m not mad.” Nuchjaree turned the other way.

“If I said I have a gift for you, would you forgive me?”

“I told you I’m not mad. And I’m not a child!”

Then, she fell silent immediately because what Sven just raised up in front of her face was a ring. The girl blinked with surprise. The ring was carved with the Cataral’s symbol, which was a rose with thorns.

This silver ring...

Yes, it was. She had seen Waree wearing this kind of ring before, but hers was carved with winged Nemesis. She was sure that the ring was...

“The ring of the deputy leader?” She murmured softly.

“That’s correct. It’s the ring of the deputy leader. Can you hold on to it, Nuchjaree?”

Hearing that, Nuchjaree was startled and turned to look Sven in the eye.

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“Well, if I give you this, that means I’m appointing you the deputy leader.”

The girl pushed the man’s hands back.

“Are you mad?!” She scolded him. “I just got here several days ago and you’re appointing me to such an important role? No way. Your members will rebel. And I’m one of the Nemesis.”

“But now you’re mine.”

Hearing that, the girl froze. Maybe it was Sven’s voice that suddenly turned almost blunt. He did not look pleased. It was clear that he did not like it when she said that she was ‘of the Nemesis’.

“Don’t talk like it’s easy, Sven. You’re the guild leader. You can’t just decide everything on a whim.” Nuchjaree said in a low voice. “I’m only at level 155. And I just got here a while ago. Your members wouldn’t be pleased about this. And what about your current one? What would he feel to be kicked out just because you want me to be somebody in the guild.”

“Don’t worry about that.” Sven grinned. “We haven’t had a deputy leader for three years now. Since the last one quit, I never appointed anyone. Don’t worry about the members, I’ll shut them up. And your level, it’s not that bad. Your former leader’s always said that it’s just a number, right? I agree with him.”

“Stop making it touching, you spoiled man.”
