Chapter 603: VS “Anubis” (1) Part I
Chapter 603: VS “Anubis” (1) Part I
“May, please shoot at its weapon and defend me.”
“Okay!”
“Angie, take care of the minions. There’re too many of them it’s annoying.”
“Okay. Get out of the way, Tunwa.”
“Kong, I sent Ifrit out. Get on its back!”
“Okay, Nam!”
The orders could be heard continuously in such a systematic manner. Five of them were frustratingly dealing with a ‘Tarantula’, the spider boss level 180 on the thirty-eighth floor of the dungeon.
Tunwa, the oldest one in the group, had to be a tank and deal with the minions in the form of small spiders (that loved releasing poison). However, it seemed like he was having fun with being a tank now. The boss’ attack did almost nothing to his muscular body. It was maybe because he was now at level 185, the highest in the team. His defense was a lot thicker. Even though he did not need good armor anymore, he was confident that even Ouroboros could not beat him!
As for Kongkiat, he got an important role like his big brother: being “an annoying decoy”. His free form was as good as Wisana’s. Even though he was not as fast, he was very careful in his movements. His instinct towards danger was excellent. This boy’s duty was to pierce through the shell of the Tarantula. His skills greatly affected the enemy’s status. Not only did he make the fight easier, but he also attracted the attention of the enemies and gave his friends the opening to attack.
Maysa and Angie, at the center, were to make the most damage to the enemies. Maysa’s agility in using her Illusion had improved a lot. She could surprisingly adapt it for so many things as she wished. The more the Illusion was used, the more horrifying it was. Angie’s choice of magic had also developed. She did not randomly and recklessly attack with only strong magic anymore, yet she was still as dangerous. The magic she chose might be at a lower level, but it was substituted with her speed which could fire the magic like a machine gun!
And the last one was Waree, who had now been switched into a fighting type. Even though she was at the back line, her poisonous magic like the ‘Direction Ray’ seemed to have covered the whole arena. Waree even adapted it into a continuous magic now. The Tarantula’s life point was being drained out repeatedly as long as Waree still stood. The Solomons she possessed seemed to be very aggressive, especially ‘Ifrit’. It was a fire beast that had stomped on so many baby spiders and now was collaborating with Kongkiat by carrying him to the back of the big boss. It tore the Tarantula’s skin off and let Kongkiat use his skill on the wound!
“This is more like it.”
Suddenly, a low voice sounded so happily before drinking the liquor out of his bottle nonchalantly. He wiped his lips and put his pipe into his mouth.
Sander was sitting with his knee up on the higher path. There was a bonfire to keep the monsters out and grill the whole pig to accompany his booze. His sharp eyes looked at his five students whose development was truly satisfying.
“Compared to the first day, they’re like different people. I actually thought they wouldn’t make it. But by killing a Tarantula without the help of Wisana and Shin, they passed. At least, they should be able to fight alongside those two now.”
He let out the white smoke from his mouth. The girl next to him had to cover her nose with an annoyed face. Her deep sockets looked at her master worriedly.
“But Lala isn’t sure about thaaat.” She drawled. Sander turned to her. “It’s true that they’re better and their level’s higher, but it’s only an experience from such a short tiiime. Lala thinks that it’s very important in the real fight since those people have been in Pride a lot looonger than them and there’s a huge gap between their experiences. Do you really think it’ll wooork?”
“Of course.”
Sander said and smiled confidently.
“You’re right about the experience, but it depends on how you deal with the situation.”
Then, he glanced at the screen that showed information of the whole party that he had been having beside him at all times.

Seeing the kids’ improvement got Sander chuckling. He was right to use the party system to train them which resulted in such an incredible outcome. The more members in the team, the more multiplying numbers you got. The more they fought, the more bonuses they received. Looking at the accumulated EXP, it proved a lot of how many they had killed.
He drank another big gulp.
“Don’t worry, Lala. I’ve taught them everything and they’ve already memorized it without even knowing. Believe me, it’s going to be an entertaining war.”
Hearing that, Lala let out a long sigh and glanced at the kids, who almost succeeded in killing the beast. She shook her head.
“It’s up to youuuu, master. Lala agrees that there’s no better way than this.” She turned to look at Leonard who was sleeping so soundly and sighed.
“Get upppp, Leonard. The kids are almost done. Prepare the poootions!!”
“Y... Yesss!!”
The tall figure sprang up and ran to the other side to the cooler filled with freezing-cold potions. Sander laughed at them and glanced back at the kids.
“It seems like they’re ready now. I wonder how Viola’s doing.”
He, then, flashed an entertained smile. He, somehow, really wanted to see the two boys with their sharpened Signetic skills.
----------------
“Yawnnn~~!! Finally, a good night’s sleep to gain back my strength.”
He yawned so loudly without even trying to cover his mouth. The tall figure slowly walked down the stairs while cracking his neck.
“We reach the last floor and still have five hours left. We’re quite something.”
He never missed a chance to praise himself. Wisana kept his hands intertwined behind his neck and glanced at the boy next to him who was waving the torch around to illuminate the path.
“Don’t be so full of yourself, Vincent,” Shin said softly. “Don’t forget that there’s still this final test waiting for us. You’ll have the right to boast around once you pass.”
Wisana scoffed.
“You talk like the hag.”
“I’m just careful.”
Shin said just before they reached the end of the stairs after a long walk. A gate with an ancient Egyptian pattern was there in front of them.
They looked at the stone gate with amazement. It was bigger than the previous ones. It was no less than eight-meter tall. And the pattern of the gate was strange-looking.
“Anubis, I see.”
Wisana said when he saw the pattern.
“Hmm?” Shin turned back to him.
“There.” Wisana pointed at the picture. “It’s an Egyptian god with the face of a black dog. A god of death who judges spirits with his scales with a bird feather on one side.”
He pointed at the pattern at the gate. There was Anubis with its staff in one hand. It had the face of a black fox. It was surrounded by spirits. The scales with a bird feather on one side were there, too.
“It looks like you know a lot about this, Vincent,” Shin said.
He thought about when he was fighting Ouroboros several months ago. This man also seemed to know about alchemy, even though it was not something that normal people would know.
“It’s normal.” Wisana shrugged. “I’m studying arts. If I don’t know about this stuff, why would I waste my time on that?”
