Chapter 598 - 5 Hell Stages Part II
Chapter 598 - 5 Hell Stages Part II
“Hey! We want to buy something~~!!”
The shout that was like a thunderstorm worked. The small guy was startled and jumped off the box. His round and scary-looking eyes looked around in panic. The hands full of membranes automatically raised up in front of him to guard.
“What? Who wants a piece of me, ribbit?”
A hoarse voice shouted. Then, he noticed Manoch. He narrowed his eyes and acted like a thug.
“Are you the one who disturbed the great Fredoric’s sleep, ribbit? You want to die? Don’t you know that people call me Fredoric the Hell Frog, ribbit?!”
“The hell frog? Then, can I try grilling you? Let’s see how crispy your skin can be.”
The boy grabbed the frog’s back collar and held him up. The frog screamed and struggled.
“Hey! Don’t bully those who can’t fight back, ribbit.” He rebelled.
“You started it, hell frog.” Manoch put him up in front of his eyes.
“W... Who are you and how did you get in here, you ill-mannered human?” He pointed at Manoch. “How dare you get into my treasure room, ribbit?”
“I’ve been calling you a million times, hell frog. I’m a customer.”
“A customer?”
The frog was surprised. He scrutinized Manoch from head to toe and sighed softly. Then, he flicked himself off Manoch’s grip.
“Good, then.” He drawled. “The selling items are all out there. There’s a catalog in every corner. Buy whatever you want. I hope you know how to buy stuff from the NPC shop, ribbit.”
Then, he jumped back into the box. He gathered around the hay and was about to go back to sleep.
“Hey, aren’t you the owner? Don’t you have to go out there for us?” Manoch scolded him.
“It’s self-service.”
He cut the conversation short and waved at Manoch as if nothing happened. Manoch was confused. He was about to drag the frog out of his bed when Sarunya called him.
“What’s wrong, Mr. Ae? I can hear it all the way here.”
The sweet voice and the owner of the voice who walked into the room with hands over her nose made the frog halt.
“It’s nothing, Ms. Taii.” Manoch was annoyed. “I’m here for the owner, but it looks like...”
“What would you like from me, Ms. Beauty? Ribbit.”
Faster than the thought, the green frog appeared on the box next to Sarunya. It bowed down in an elegant manner (which Manoch thought that it looked silly). He raised one hand up like how a gentleman did.
“Eh... I mean... Who are you?” Sarunya looked at Manoch.
“My name’s Fredoric, the owner of this shop, Ms. Beauty, ribbit. You’re the customer, I see. Let me do the honor and take you for a tour. I’ll guide you to every single one of them, Ms. Beauty. Please don’t hesitate to ask. People around here call me Fred the Sweet Frog.”
Pow!
Ribbit!
Manoch punched the frog back into the wooden box. Sarunya was startled and giggled awkwardly.
“Sweet my ass. You just told me you were a hellish one.” He sighed. “And what merchant are you with this double standard? If you have the time for this, sell your stuff to us, damn it!”
“O... Ouch... It hurts, ribbit.”
----------------
Back to Nasen dungeon, it was at 8.40 pm on the fourth day of the training. The two boys were still walking along the dungeon walls very cautiously with their full strength. It was truly amazing that Wisana and Shin could get to the forty-fifth floor without drinking a single drop of potion.
There were monsters here along the way, but they tried to keep the fight short and quiet. They wanted to avoid being surrounded, which would definitely waste time and strength.
Oh well...
Baron told us to get to the fiftieth floor. She never told us how, though.
Then, Shin suggested that they went down and avoided as many fights as possible so that they did not have to waste their limited potions. This dungeon might look like a maze, but it was so spacious and dim that they could use the advantage to hide from the monsters.
Wisana agreed because the deeper they went, the stronger the monsters that would give them trouble. Fighting only when necessary would be the best choice.
Even so...
When Baron was not here, they did not have to deal with her buff for the monsters.
But what gave them headaches was...
“Another dead end?!”
Wisana screamed and looked at Shin with a wry face.
“Don’t look at me. You chose this path.”
Shin said. Wisana could only scratch his head.
“Ahh, this is almost nine and we’ve only gone through five floors. We’re too slow.”
He opened up the map again. Without Jinnie’s help, the headache doubled, especially when he thought about the map that Baron gave him. It was the D-level map, which was the lowest quality one! Other than darkness, he could barely get anything out of it!
“Now I know how much use that brutal Baron can be.”
Wisana complained and walked back to where he came from. Shin followed him.
They had been like castaways these past two days. They looked as if they had not been taking a shower for months. Their clothes were torn. If they sat on a pedestrian overpass with a bucket, people would surely be donating them money!
“If we can’t get to the forty-eighth floor before midnight, we’re doomed.”
Shin said. Wisana scoffed, frustrated.
“Before that, we have to reach the next floor first.”
The quiet man sighed.
They reached the intersection again. They looked at each other and sighed.
“Another intersection,” Wisana complained. “What now?”
“Same thing,” Shin said.
“Then, I’ll choose the right.” Wisana pointed.
“I’m the left, then.”
The two boys looked at each other before quickly whipping their hands out. Wisana’s was a clenched fist and Shin’s was an open palm. Seeing that, the man who just lost the rock, paper, scissors game let out a long sigh.
“It’s left this time.” He said, disappointed.
“Mhmm.”
They decided to take the left path without any theory or strategy. The desperation got them into believing in ‘fate’. At least, they hoped that the God of luck would offer his hand for them (even though Na always had the God of bad luck with him).
“What’s your level?” Shin asked.
The other man raised his eyebrow as if he was surprised that he was not the one who initiated the conversation and that the quiet man was the one who did.
“162. You?” Wisana asked back.
“178.”
The interviewer let out a super long sigh.
“So high. But it’s only reasonable since we’ve been fighting monsters level 140 and up lately.” Wisana shook his head. “I don’t want to even imagine what kind of monsters are waiting for us next. Look at me, with no weapons, how do I fight?”
He raised his bare hands. Shin scoffed.
“You know that she wants you to depend on yourself more than those cheating weapons,” Shin said.
“I know.” Wisana drawled. “But I don’t have this peace of mind without them. At least, can’t I have them in my item box?”
“I think you better spend your complaining time searching for a way down, Vincent.”
“Tsk.”
