Chapter 589: A Surprising Improvement! Part VI
Chapter 589: A Surprising Improvement! Part VI
“That’s right. Don’t think too much during the fight. Absorb everything with your movements and open up your mind to let your Signetic work.”
Hearing that, Wisana started to get himself back to his form.
He did not realize that Baron’s eyes turned so dim as she looked at him. Her smile was wiped off her face. She only gritted her teeth. She clenched her small hands as if she was trying to tell herself to be strong.
Do not let your weakness show, Viola...
Have you not been preparing for this for the last twenty years?
You have prepared to be hated by this boy one day.

Back to another party, which was on the sixteenth floor of the dungeon at 8 p.m. on their second day of training. The non-stop training of Mr. Sander had been paused. Every nerve inside everyone’s body was screaming. They were so hurt that they could not move an inch. Even though they got to lie down on a soft mat and a good quality blanket next to the bonfire to keep the monsters away, the fatigue did not let Maysa sleep.
She put her arm on her forehead. Her body really needed a good shower right now. It was obvious that she had not had any for days now.
“Are you awake, May?”
A second later, a soft voice called out to Maysa. The light gray eyes glanced at her best friend, Waree, who was lying next to her. The equally worn-out girl with messy hair smiled at her.
“I can’t sleep. Too exhausted.” Maysa told her.
“Me, too.” Waree smiled happily. “I’ve never been so tired in my entire life.”
Maysa giggled and flipped.
“That old man Sander is a psycho.” Maysa smiled.
“But his training’s good, don’t you think? You’ve been gaining the most levels, and your Illusion is through the roof now. Next time, you should be able to fight alongside Na. You’re secretly happy about it, right?”
“Why do I have to be?” Maysa asked.
Waree giggled at the question.
“When you just started the game, you fought together since you were still at the same level. The more days have passed, the stronger Na becomes that you can’t keep up. If you can do that again after this training, your relationship will definitely be closer, don’t you think?”
Then, Waree put her hands up to guard since she expected Maysa to attack her because of the tease. But she was wrong. Maysa went quiet and her facial expression totally changed into anxiety. Maysa turned away from Waree.
“May, are you mad? I’m sorry. I was just teasing you.”
Maysa halted. She glanced back at her friend and realized that she had done something that she should not have.
“N... No, I’m not mad. I’m just thinking about stuff.”
She brushed it off. Waree narrowed her eyes.
“What are you thinking about that makes you so down?”
Maysa bit her lips. She looked the other way and lied.
“The war. I’m worried if we’d be able to win.”
Waree frowned.
“Why’s that? You’re not the type who gives up so easily, right?”
“It’s not like I’m giving up.” Maysa sighed. “But now that I have a chance to train with Mr. Sander, I know now how good he is. And the enemies that we’re going up against aren’t different. Do you really think we’re going to make it? As a planner, I can’t really see the future in this.”
Waree could not agree more, since she just realized it, too, how badass Sander was. If she had not seen it with her own eyes, she would not have believed that these people even existed.
“Of course, we can!”
Suddenly, a loud and hoarse voice sounded, making the girls sit up straight. They glanced at the source and saw a die-hard man with a bottle of liquor. He walked into the room with his reddened face.
“Mr. Sander?” Maysa said softly.
“As long as I’m still with Baron, we’re winning this war.”
Then, the old man sank down beside the girls and offered the bottle to them.
“Want some? So your face will turn pinkish and cute.”
“We’re girls!” Maysa scolded.
“Why? Girls can’t drink?”
He took out his tobacco pipe and held it in his mouth. He used his fingers to trigger the fire and lit it up. The girls could only shake their heads.
He would never regret anything in his life with this combination.
“You’re so worried you can’t sleep?” Sander asked.
“Not really,” Waree said.
She actually wanted to say, “It was you who did this to us.”, but then again, her heart was telling her to “Be still if you don’t want to get hurt even more.”
“Don’t worry.” He slapped Maysa’s shoulder. “This training won’t go to waste. Even though I can’t guarantee it, Baron is the real deal. Believe me, the boys will come back with full potential for sure.”
Maysa nodded and lowered her face down as if she was thinking about something.
“Why the long face? You don’t believe me?” Sander asked.
“That’s not it.” Maysa shook her head. “I just have some doubts about Ms. Baron.”
The old man tilted his head and smiled.
“What about her?” He asked.
Maysa looked up at Sander’s face, wondering if she should ask. In the end, because of her suspicion, she finally did.
“Is Ms. Baron really Viola?”
Sander laughed out loud.
“Why do you think so?”
“She’s really good. She even managed to kill Dysandwal in less than five minutes. There shouldn’t be anyone that good in Pride, other than a legendary Viola. Moreover, judging from what she can do, she should be in the Masterclass, and there’re only a few people and only a few girls in there.”
The old man smiled. He patted Maysa’s head lovingly. He knew that this girl was wise, but he did not expect her to be this good. It was a shame that she did not possess the Signetic, otherwise she would have been another invincible monster here.
“This will only make you worry more.” Sander shrugged. “Like she said, it doesn’t matter who she is anymore. Baron is Baron, the craziest friend of mine, that’s it.”
The girls looked at each other.
“Are you very close to her?” Maysa asked.
“Are we close?” He laughed. “I don’t know how much, but we grew up together.”
The girls grinned. They moved closer to the man.
“Does that mean your families are close, too?” Waree asked.
“Family?” Sander beamed at them. “We don’t have a family.”
The girls halted.
“Ever since I remember, Baron grew up without her parents. She struggled so much that she could write that into a pocket book.” He drank some liquor and let out a happy moan. “It was good enough for her to have food for the day. When I think about it, I can hardly believe how we survived those days.”
Sander laughed happily, while the girls were so quiet. No one dared to pry any further because they knew that the story would not be a happy one.
“But nah...” Sander said. “Even though it was really bad, we’re happy now. She may not look like it, but she’s married with kids. I couldn’t even imagine how at first. I’m surprised she can be such a perfect mom.”
“W...What about you?”
