Chapter 586: A Surprising Improvement! Part III
Chapter 586: A Surprising Improvement! Part III
“Then, before we rest for ten minutes, let me make a speech.”
Then, Sander walked into the middle of the kids’ circle and looked at Tunwa.
“Tun, your defense got a lot better. When your level rises, your shield gets thicker, too, which is a good thing. However, don’t forget that you also have the ability to strike back. It’s true that defense is important when it comes to a tank like you, but you should counter, too. Not only will the enemy get the abnormal status, but it’ll also lessen the damage on you. “Attacking is the best defense”. Remember it and get training.”
Then, he looked at Kongkiat.
“Kong, you’ve improved a lot, too. You’ve been gaining speed. However, you need to be careful when you step on and look around you before you decide to land the final blow. If Maysa didn’t restrain the monster just now, you’d be countered. Understood?”
“Yes, sir.” The boy said wearily.
“And you, Angie.” He turned to Angie. “Your magic is strong, but you should choose the appropriate one to use according to each monster. It’s true that you could kill it instantly just now, but the result may be the same if you choose the magic with a lower level. You’ll be able to save your SP that way. Remember, in the war, only one SP could result in death. Don’t forget it.”
“Yes, sir.” Angie nodded.
“And you, Nam.” Sander continued. “Your support magic is invincible. They’re flawless. Your choice of magic is also perfect. You must be feeling uneasy that I took you out of the front line and made you a supporter.”
“Yes,” Waree said. “If I was a tank with Tun, the fight would have been easier.”
“You’re not wrong.” Sander nodded. “It may be good for the party, but it’ll be harder for you, no? You’ll have to fight and, at the same time, support the others. You may have to use your magic with the enemies, too.”
“....”
Waree did not say anything. Sander was quite right.
“From now on, I want you to be the flexible one in the party since you’re good with anything. Keep training until you’re an expert in every kind of fight. Increase the speed of both attack and defense. Your supporting abilities can also be used for yourself. To put it simply, train and master them just in case you have to fight by yourself one day. Believe me, you’re indispensable in this war.”
“Understood,” Waree said firmly.
“And lastly, Maysa.” Sander turned to Maysa. “Your movements and choices of magic are flawless. You’re the perfect core of the party who decide and plan everything so incredibly and fast.”
The compliments got the girl beaming.
“However.” Sander continued. “It looks like you haven’t mastered the Illusion just yet. If possible, I want you to train more. Illusion is a magical weapon with hundreds of styles. From the look of it, you can only do a few.”
“I don’t think I’ll have a chance to use it much.”
Maysa smiled. Sander raised his eyebrows.
“What makes you think so?” He asked.
“I have to be in control of the ship. It’s impossible for a captain like me to be in the field. That way, it’s easier for me to plan.”
“But I think otherwise.”
The girl raised her eyebrow a little and tilted her head.
“Believe me, you’ll have your chance to be in the field. At least I believe Baron wouldn’t keep someone so skillful locked inside the ship.”
“But...”
Maysa tried to argue when a big hand landed lightly on her shoulder.
“Believe me, you’ll be in the field.” He smiled. “Among the Cores, there’s one whom we think is suitable for you. You’ll be the only one who can take him down. At least, you’ll be able to help Wisana with that. It’s worth it, right?”
Hearing that, the girl looked the old man in the eye. She thought about it for a while before nodding back. Sander smiled back at her.
“Then, your task now is to master the Illusion. Understood?”
“Understood.” Maysa nodded.
Sander smiled satisfyingly before patting her head. He walked past the kids and to the path up front.
“Then, I’ll be exploring the path to the next floor. Rest up, everyone.”
The kids let out a moan. Some wanted to sleep, and some wanted to take a shower, but the hell training had not ended just yet. So, now they could only lie down wearily.
“I truly thought he was a kind man.” Tunwa moaned.
“I know, right? He doesn’t understand ladies at all.” Waree still insisted that she wanted a shower.
Maysa was the only one who was smiling and laughing so loudly that everyone turned to her.
“What’s gotten into you, May? Don’t tell me the training got you good?” Tunwa raised his eyebrow.
“That’s not it.” Maysa smiled. “I laughed because I was thinking about what Na had to go through when we were hunting Ouroboros. We’re all together and it’s taking us so much. It must have been tough for that man to go through this alone.”
Hearing that, everyone looked at each other and started to laugh, even Angie. Kongkiat and Aerin were confused since they got into the guild after the incident, so they did not know what happened.
“Then, now we know why he was screaming so much.” Tunwa laughed.
“He must have been through the potion bottle-smashing scene too,” Waree added.
“I can imagine how shocked he was before he rushed back to training,” Maysa said.
The more they thought about it, the more they laughed. The good vibe relaxed them. They started to gain their strength back.
Even though the leader was not here, he was still the one who brought smiles back to everyone’s face. Meanwhile, Maysa sat down and called up the information screen to make sure that Wisana was still alive and kicking. She saw that his HP gauge was still full and he was in a ‘sleep’ status. She smiled.
“Do your best.” She muttered softly.

The next morning came again with another hellish training. After the recharge, the boys were healthy again. It was thanks to Stella’s incredible healing magic that got rid of the fatigue.
But then again...
Personally, Shin did not know how that would help them get through this since they would be back to death again anyway. It might be even worse today because Baron started the training with...
“What!? You want me to take off my Element and Darkness!?”
Wisana shouted so loudly that the man next to him had to turn the other way and narrow his eyes from ear pain.
“Yes. Take them off.” Baron put her hand out with her straight face.
“Are you crazy? How do I fight without them? I needed them for every fight, sis!”
Bonk!
Another finger bonk landed in the middle of the boy’s head. Wisana sank to the ground, covering his head.
“You spoiled kid. Because you’re so used to being buffed, that’s why you suck.” Baron put her hands on her hip. “The order of your teacher is final. Take them off.”
Hearing that, Wisana halted. He looked up and pouted.
“What would I do without them?” He asked.
“That’s your job to figure it out.”
“Wha...”
