Chapter 579: Announcing The War Part V
Chapter 579: Announcing The War Part V
“I won’t let them do it.”
Baron wanted to encourage them, but Wisana interrupted. Everyone, including Baron, halted.
“Knowing that Pride is this important, I can’t let them just do what they want,” Wisana said and turned to everyone. “I’ll stop them.”
Baron was silent. She turned to look at Sander. The old man secretly laughed and shrugged as if he was used to this.
“Na, what can you do? Jinnie has something they want, too.” Tunwa said.
“And they’re the cores of this world,” Warunya said. “And they’re as skilled as Mr. Sander, too. We won’t be able to do anything.”
“I agree, Na. I think it’s better for us to stay away from them, especially you. If they could steal Jinnie from you, we’d all be doomed.” Manoch said softly.
The warnings from friends were making Wisana annoyed. He pushed himself up and looked at everyone.
“The result will still be the same!” Wisana shouted. “They’ll find me sooner or later and we’ll have to fight them anyway. I’m not a defensive type, so before they steal Jinnie from me, I’ll cut off that Lucius’s head first. Everything will be a piece of cake.”
His announcement got everyone blinking in awe. Sander laughed so loudly. He really loved what his student said.
Baron stared at the boy’s back. She smirked. Her eyes were somehow glowing with hope. She did not know why, but she could see another man in him. The only man whom she had never won against.
“Are you sure, Na? We’re at the lowest point right now.” Manoch said softly.
“We don’t have enough people.” Tunwa.
“Not enough items,” Warunya added.
“And no plans.” Maysa mocked him with a smile.
Wisana scoffed and raised his fist.
“I don’t care! I’ve decided!”
He quickly turned to Baron. The smile on his face was so cheerful that it was as if he had changed into a different person. Being able to change the mode so quickly was one of his good leadership traits.
“Ms. Baron called us here to ask us to join you guys in the fight, right?”
Baron grinned.
“No.”
“Wha...?”
The boy drooped down. His friends laughed. The atmosphere was clearly getting lighter.
“Then, why did you call us here?” Wisana pouted.
“Judging from your abilities, you’re not ready to fight them.” Baron was straightforward. “First, your levels are too low. Your leader’s reckless. You don’t have enough people. The items you have now are all trash. Don’t you think you’ll only lose if you go out there?”
“Not at all.”
Wisana said with a straight face. Sander laughed again. Baron could only sigh.
“How did you teach him, Sander? How can he be this mad?” Baron asked him.
“I didn’t. He was born like this. Why don’t you ask his mom?”
The masked lady halted. Her amber eyes glared at the old man like she was going to devour him whole. The man only shrugged.
“So, you’re not going to let us join?” Wisana asked. “Don’t tell me you’re dragging me here to hide? Hey, if it’s true, I’ll call every promise off.”
Smack!
Baron did not say anything. She pushed the boy’s head with all her might.
“Listen to me, kid!” She yelled.
“That hurts...” Wisana stroked his head where it hurt.
“I called you here because I can see that you have the potential to help me. I’ll decide again whether or not you’re good enough to fight Lucius and those guys.” She stared at Wisana. “And you, kiddo, what level are you?”
“100, why?” Wisana asked.
“Why?” Baron raised her eyebrow and looked at Waree. “What about you?”
“Eh? Err... 153,” Waree answered.
“And you, Maysa?”
“I’m 112.”
She asked their level one by one and looked back at Wisana after each one. Everyone there had a higher level than him. Even Manoch and Warunya who were item crafters!
“How about it?” Baron smiled at Wisana.
“And? What are you trying to say?”
Bonk!
Baron knocked his head with her fingers. The no-brainer boy sank and covered his head.
“What kind of a leader are you, kid? Your level is the lowest here!”
“Huh! I don’t care about the numbers. Magtiria can help me with that!”
Bonk!
Again with the same thing he got just before this. Wisana started to get teary.
“I suggest you care about it more, you little Vincent.” Baron smiled wickedly. “If you want to help me fight, first, you have to improve yourself. At least you should have the highest level in the guild. Otherwise, you can say goodbye to the fight.”
“Eh? Why?!” The boy cried out.
“Because I said so,” Baron said and turned to Sander. “It seems you’ve been too kind to your student, Sander. If you don’t mind, I’ll take your place from now on, deal?”
“Of course.” Sander shrugged.
Wisana screamed.
“Teacher! How can you do that so easily?!”
“You choked me just now, remember?” Sander grinned. The boy’s face was wry.
“What the hell?!”
“Not just this kid.” Baron grinned. “Every one of you has to be exclusively trained by Sander, too.”
“Hehhh~!!”
The kids cried so loudly, especially Maysa. She still recalled Wisana’s screech when he took intensive courses when he was hunting Ouroboros. Only the thought of it gave everyone goosebumps.
“I’ll be in your care, kids.”
A mad uncle waved at them. Everyone was still crying.
“And you, Shindanai The Hunter.” Suddenly, Baron called Shin. He turned to her, puzzled. “Only you’ll be joining the little Vincent in my training, deal?”
Shin looked Baron in the eye. He thought that this would be a good chance for him to improve because he knew that this woman was really something.
“Deal.” Shin nodded.
“Good. You’re such a good boy.” Baron smiled sweetly at him. “Unlike this kid.”
She pushed Wisana’s head again. He raised his eyebrows.
“What? Stop bullying me.”
Baron did not care. She stood up.
“Now, we’ve come to the conclusion. I’ll have you trained intensively within this time limit to ready you for the war. I’ll decide again after this if I’ll let you join me, understood?”
She turned to Wisana again. They looked as if they were reading each other’s minds. He could see how determined she was in her eyes and how hopeful she was in her smile. Wisana raised his fist to her.
“Understood. Come at me!”
Hearing that, everyone screamed “What!” very loudly. Most of them did not want to train with this hellish Sander at all. Only Baron smiled satisfyingly.
“Good. Then, eat something and rest. We’ll plan our training tomorrow.”
“Okay!” Wisana said loudly. The rest of them only moaned.
Baron grinned. She looked at the horizon far away from there. Her amber eyes were blazed with so much hope again. Her rosy lip curved into a smile.
Just you wait, Lucius.
Once my king released his sword from the sheath, your head would be cut off!
