Chapter 552: A Challenge from Bloody Iron Beast Part III

“Huh? Ahh...”

The man was a little confused, but he still accepted it and nodded at her. Nuchjaree hit his shoulder.

“You’re better than you look.” She said. “You see your friends in distress and you run to them immediately. Unlike Na, he doesn’t show anything.”

‘No, it’s not like that.’

‘Don’t smile at me like that.’

“Well...” Tunwa said softly.

“As expected of my best friend.” Nuchjaree put her arm around his shoulders. “This is what you call best friends, right? I’ll definitely help you when you’re in need, too.”

She gave him an assuring smile.

However, it was so hurting for Tunwa.

“Let’s see. You like Fhun, the freshman girl, right? You want me to arrange a meeting for...”

“That’s enough!!”

Tunwa shouted. That was the last string of his patience. He avoided meeting Nuchjaree’s gaze. Nuchjaree was shocked.

“What happened? Y-you didn’t have to shout.”

“No, it’s not like that,” Tunwa said. “It’s not your fault. It was mine.”

The girl was confused.

“What’s gotten into you? You were the one who consoled me just now... Or did I trigger something? You can vent it out with me so that we’re even.”

The man gritted his teeth. He felt so irritated with himself.

“I’m not as good as you think, Nuch.”

‘No, I’m totally not...’

‘Because I don’t want someone I love to be with anyone else, even if she doesn’t love me.’

“Huh? What do you m...”

The rest of her words faded away in the wind. She halted. She did not even realize that her lips were covered by a gentle sensation that caused her words to fade. His rough hands on her neck were so warm like never before.

Everything went white. It was too fast to catch up.

The sound of the heavy rain was too overwhelming.

Their lips parted. The girl was still speechless. She did not expect this kiss. The man lowered his head down.

“I know it’s not a good time,” Tunwa said softly. “But I don’t want to regret it later. I don’t want to lose this feeling towards you without being able to do anything.”

“Y-you...” Nuchjaree could not let her words out.

“I know that it’s too late.” Tunwa interrupted. “We’re too close and you’ve never thought of me that way, so I never said it. I just want you to know that you also have me in your options, that’s all.”

Silence overtook the place. Tunwa let out a long sigh before he pushed himself up.

“I’m not pressuring you, Nuch. I just want to let you know.” He smiled gently. “You’ve already promised me that I’d be the first to know, so don’t forget that.”

Once he finished, he walked back into the ship immediately, leaving the girl speechless.

“Wait, Tun!” She called him. It was already too late.

The girl was startled. No, it was more like she was amazed. She touched her lips softly. Even though she did not hate it, it felt strange. She could not figure anything out since her head went so blank. That might be her first kiss, but it was not as surprising as the man who gave it to her was her best friend.

Not as surprising...

“Tun, where have you been? I’ve been waiting for a long time. You see, dragon kebab is really tasty as you said. I kept some for you as you ordered me to.”

The cheery voice of a sweet-looking boy sounded. There were two plates full of food in front of him.

The tall figure walked wearily into the cafeteria and sat opposite Kongkiat. The young boy stared confusingly at the man with food in his mouth. It was obvious that something was off with Tunwa. He was massaging his temples.

“You don’t look so well. What happened?”

Kongkiat asked because he noticed that Tunwa’s face was so red.

“I shouldn’t have done it.” The man muttered to himself.

“Yes?” The boy raised his eyebrows up high.

“Tun, you prick, what have you done?!!”

He shouted and devoured every food in front of him so fast that the boy was startled.

“W-wait, big bro. That’s mine...”

“Kong, go get me ten more plates and a beer.”

“Huh?! I’m not at a legal age yet. I can’t get you the beer.”

“Have someone do it for you!!”

“R-roger!”

The youngest boy of the guild immediately ran out for the errands. Seeing that, Tunwa started to slow down and stopped.

“What am I even doing?”

He fell face down on the table and let out a long sigh.

It seemed like he had probably done something he should not have...

At the deck, Wisana was sitting idly on the captain’s seat. His amber eyes looked out at the calm ocean. His rough hands were stroking his lips as if he was deep in thought. The two girls, Warunya and Aerin, looked at each other, trying to figure out what their leader was thinking.

“Hmm... dragon meat tastes weird. It makes me nauseated.”

A conversation was heard as soon as the door to the deck was opened.

“You think so? I think it’s good.” Another voice rang.

“You like everything, Nam. That’s why you always complain about your weight.”

“May!”

The two girls walked into the room and took off their jackets. It was obvious how much they ate. Waree immediately sat on her seat. Maysa was about to do the same when she saw Wisana there already.

“Na, what happened?” Maysa greeted him.

Wisana did not move.

“Na...” Maysa grabbed his shoulder. “Na, what’s wrong? Wisana!!”

“Woahhh! May! You didn’t have to shout!”

That shout startled him. Wisana put his fingers in his ears since it felt like every lump of earwax started to dance.

“What are you spacing out about? I called you several times.” Maysa frowned.

“Sorry, sorry.” He scratched his cheek awkwardly. “So many things in mind.”

“Worried about something?” Maysa asked.

Wisana went quiet and glanced up at his girlfriend’s worried face. Then, he looked around the room and noticed that everyone was just like her. He beamed at them awkwardly.

“Nothing, nothing. It was just aimless. Nothing serious.” He waved. How could he say that he was worried about Nuchjaree? “Ah, May. Sven wants me to give you this disk. He said everything’s in here.”

He took the disk out and gave it to his girlfriend. Maysa accepted it, but she was still staring at Wisana as if she had not trusted him just yet.

She knew that there was something in Wisana’s mind, but he hid it from everyone.

“The rain doesn’t seem to stop. This is not good.”

Waree broke the silence. Everyone looked outside the window.

Maysa sighed when she heard that. Wisana stood up and prompted Maysa to sit down. She smiled and did just that.

“I pray that the sky’s clear before the Cataral reaches here,” Maysa said.

“At least if God’s on our side, it’s good, right?” Waree added.

Hearing that, Wisana sighed.

“If the rain keeps falling until tonight, I think we should think about the backup plan.” He suggested.

“I agree.” Maysa nodded. “Maybe we may have to take a risk and leave without the concealing system.”

“That’s bad,” Aerin said. “We don’t have enough weapons. If we had to fight a big army like last time, we wouldn’t be able to make it. Our ship is quite worn-out too. Without a good repair, Alexander wouldn’t last.”

“I know that.” Maysa let out a long sigh.

“Or should we try diving? Alexander can operate underwater, right?” Warunya said.

“It can, but don’t forget that Poseidon is one of the enemies we have. We’ll lose underwater.”

“You’re right.” Warunya sighed.

Everyone was so down. Nothing seemed to be on their side.

“We have to pray that the rain stops by this evening,” Maysa suggested. “Otherwise, we’ll have to release Sven as soon as possible, so he can stop the army for us.”

“Mhmm.” Wisana agreed. “It’d be great if no one ambushed us during the operation.”

BOOM!!!
