Chapter 542: Pride Library Part IV

Chapter 542: Pride Library Part IV

“Stop blabbing about your friend, Waree.” He said. “We’re working here, okay?”

“Yeah, yeah.”

Waree made a cheeky face at him before taking out her Blackberry phone. Maysa also took out hers. It was obvious that they intentionally bought the same phone model.

As for Wisana’s, it was an iPhone. They clicked on something on their phone, and this popped up...

“You bought the newest model?” Maysa looked at her boyfriend’s cell phone.

“Yeah. I need it to access the Pride Online system. I’m so short this month.”

Wisana let out a long sigh.

“I told you to get the same model as me. A lot cheaper.” Waree said sarcastically.

“It looks bland. Only this iPhone suits a cool one like me.” He waved his phone in front of his sister like a kid.

“Huh! You didn’t even know what a ‘Line’ was and you’re saying you’re cool?”

“Shut it!” Wisana cut the conversation short immediately. “Just search for the information and let’s get out of here. We have to go grocery shopping later, too.”

“Yes, yes, guild leader.”

Maysa waved her hand before walking towards the door. As soon as she was there, a small computer screen popped out of the door. It looked like a black mirror with red sparkles. Maysa, then, put her phone on it.

“ID 3685 Maysa, confirmed. ID level A. Please proceed.”

A familiar AI voice sounded from Maysa’s phone. It was none other than Albert, her shy AI.

The library door was opened to welcome Maysa in. Wisana and Waree did the same thing. The first thing that they noticed was the silence. There was not a single soul in there. The library was an enormous hall about three stories high. It was full of countless books. The classy wooden bookshelves and a double mezzanine with circular stairs made the library look strangely gorgeous.

“Welcome to the Pride Library.”

Suddenly, a sweet voice of a girl sounded. All three of them turned to the source and saw a woman with black hair that was pulled up in a neat bun. Judging from her attire, it was obvious that she was a librarian.

“Hello.”

They greeted her. She nodded back.

“Is this your first time here?”

“Yes,” Wisana said.

Actually, he had only been to a library twice since he was born. The first time was when his teacher assigned him to do research on world history in ninth grade and another was when Nuchjaree dragged him there to search for information about some old Italian composer. Of course, he was only there to take a nap.

“Then, I’d like to suggest that you use your personal AI system to search for the books you need.”

The librarian took out her phone. It was an iPhone about 2-3 models older than Wisana’s.

“Mine’s way cooler,” Wisana whispered to Maysa. She hit his arm in return.

“Yes?” The librarian raised her eyebrow.

“N-nothing... Please continue. This guy’s just weird.”

The librarian gave them a sweet smile before calling up the AI system on her phone.

“As you may know, Pride opened a new system called Pride Online only several months ago. It connects all the websites in the world, including bank transactions and trading business. It can also act like a GPS with accurate information. Furthermore, you can use Pride Online to search for news and information around the world that collaborate with our company. Our members will transmit the Wi-Fi signal in the form of information for you to be able to download it in the shortest time possible.”

The librarian gave them a long explanation with a smooth tone of voice as if she had been doing this for some time now.

“I’m already sick of your talking and now I have to listen to this lady too?” Wisana whispered.

“Just listen, you idiot!” Maysa scolded him.

“Like the one in the game, there’s also a voice recognition system in Pride Online. Your AI will be the one who receives the order. The AI will manage it through the worldwide system.”

The librarian continued.

“The Pride Online can also be used with this library. You can order your AI to pinpoint the location of the books you need.” She pointed at the innumerable bookshelves behind her. “And if you’d like to download any information from the book to your AI data, you can easily purchase them with your credit card through our easy payment system.”

She smiled sweetly at the listeners who looked as if they were starstruck.

“Only the last part was necessary. Why did she have to say all that?” Wisana whispered again.

“Shoosh!” Maysa hit him in the arm.

“Any questions?” The librarian asked.

All three of them shook their heads.

“Then, I hope you enjoy your day here.” She said. “Oh, and one more thing.”

“What is it now?”

He was so annoyed that he slipped. Maysa had to hit him again for the third time.

The librarian was still nice enough to smile at him as if it was something that she had to experience every day.

“For the ID package to be used in Pride Online, you can purchase the add-ons or upgrade it here. If you’re interested in the A level, we have this promotion...”

“We’re all A. Thank you.”

“Of course. Thank you very much for your patronage.”

The librarian did not flinch, even with Wisana’s rude attitude. The man dragged his girls out of there as fast as he could, otherwise, the librarian would not let them go for sure.

“She’s not a librarian. She’s more like an insurance agent.”

“Just bear with her. She’s just doing her job.”

Maysa tried to calm him down, even though they were already far away from the librarian.

“Well, let’s get to work here,” Waree said. It seemed to her that her brother would not let it go that easily.

“Okay.” Wisana sighed. “We’ll split and search for the most useful clues possible. We’ll focus on those mysterious men, be it their names, professions, or anything that’ll be of use to us. Don’t forget that information about Viola and her subordinates is the best clue.”

“Do you have their photos?”

Maysa asked. If what they were searching for was this generic, it would be best for them to at least know what they looked like.

“Of course.” Wisana nodded. “Sven sent me the photos last night. I’ll send them to you via ‘Coolhood’.”

The girls looked each other in the eye.

“It’s Bluetooth, you moron!” Maysa scolded.

“How uncool.” Waree shook her head.

“Bear with it. Okay, you got it?”

A second later, a notification sound rang from the girls’ phones. There were four photos in total.

“Those are the people Sven met at Tristan,” Wisana said. “And those two were from when we took the photo while fighting in the middle of the sea. You guys have it already, right?”

Maysa and Waree nodded. They opened all the photos and were ready to get to work.

Wisana nodded back.

“And you? Is Jinnie back to work as normal now? I don’t see her online much.”

“If it’s the Pride Online, it shouldn’t be a problem. Jinnie can work normally. Before we got on the plane, I checked the weather forecast and it worked just fine.”

Maysa’s smile was awkward.

“Did you guys have a fight? It’s like she is trying to avoid you.”
