Chapter 540: Pride Library Part II
Chapter 540: Pride Library Part II
“Having to attend such a grand gathering for your first time must be tough, Miss Aerin.” The man said.
“Please call me Pairin here...” The girl smiled back. “Mr. Mek.”
“Then, please call me Meka.”
They still smiled at each other. None of them seemed to question anything about how their real identity was exposed.
“We don’t really talk in the office. I wonder how you found out about me, even though I’m sure that it was a good disguise.”
“That’s my question.” The man beamed at her. “I’m ten years younger and you still realize who I am.”
“You didn’t change your name.” The girl smiled so sweetly that the man could not help but chuckle.
“The real you and the you in Pride are so different.” Meka smiled back at her. “You in the game are so clumsy. Yet, the real you are so mischievous. I really can’t really underestimate the president’s keen eyes.”
“I take that as a compliment.” Pairin lowered her head with respect.
“Anyway, our duty today will be tough. At least we have to make sure that nothing will happen to Mr. President and the counselor.”
Meka spoke in his firm voice. The woman nodded.
“Roger that, boss.”

“Gosh... We just got back from Chiang Mai. Can’t we at least get some rest first, Mr. Wisana?”
The sweet voice sounded. Her face furrowed. That might be because she was in an elevator of the Pride office in the center of Bangkok, even though she just got off the plane about two hours ago. Who would have known that Wisana would drag her and his sister out from Sukhumvit to Thong Lor as soon as he put his stuff in his condo room?!
“Big bro, why do we have to come here now? Can’t it be tomorrow?”
Waree asked. She was as weary as Maysa.
She was wearing a light blue knee-length dress and a long-sleeved jeans jacket. Meanwhile, Maysa was in her denim pants and a shirt. They were not exactly dressed for this official visit.
“I have something to investigate at the Pride Library,” Wisana said.
“So, you really do believe Sven.”
Maysa seemed surprised. Wisana nodded.
“At least I do believe that Sven wasn’t lying. He needs us too. We’re all in the same boat now.”
“Na... You’re talking about an enemy that we’ve fought before.”
“I know.” Wisana smiled. “You know the saying ‘enemy today, friend tomorrow’? That may be true.”
Maysa looked at Waree who shrugged back. Maysa rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, whatever.”
Wisana smiled at her and patted her head lovingly.
It had been three days in real life, or close to three weeks in Pride since they snatched Nuchjaree back, and everything seemed to eventually be back to normal. However, the Nemesis guild still needed to be in hiding for safety.
While Nemesis was still idle, Sven, the prisoner of war, had been very obedient. It might be because Nuchjaree was taking great care of him.
Sven had told him one thing when we talked the other day...
‘I have a feeling that those people have something to do with Viola.’
Sven said that while they were talking about that group of mysterious people.
‘Why do you think so?’
‘I overheard them talking. They told each other to be careful of Viola.’
‘Maybe it was just a coincidence with the name? That Viola existed over twenty years ago anyway.’
‘That’s true.’ Sven smiled. ‘But it doesn’t hurt to investigate. If you have time, go to the Pride Library. There should be some information about the players. It may just be my hunch, but I do think you should try.’
He could only raise his eyebrows and look at the arrogant man before him.
‘Why don’t you do it yourself?’
‘I’m sorry. I’m not in Bangkok right now, so it’s not very convenient for me.’
His daydream slowly faded away as the elevator approached the destination floor. In the end, it was him who had to come here to the library since it was only reasonable to look for Pride’s information here. And it also contained secrets that we could not find online.
“Do you think we’ll get more clues here, Na?” Waree broke the silence.
Her brother glanced at her and sighed softly.
“I don’t know. But at least I’m expecting something about the enemies. Just a little is better than nothing.”
Then, he glanced at Maysa. She only shrugged.
Ding~!
The sound of the elevator and the number ‘8’ on the screen reminded them that they had arrived. The doors slowly opened and all three of them walked out of it. It was at the same time that another three people walked past them into the elevator.
Wisana suddenly felt a heavy pressure that caused his body to twitch. A tall figure of the man he did not recognize was only an inch away from him. When they looked each other in the eye, he realized that the man was even taller than him. His golden blonde hair and azure blue eyes clearly stated that he was not Thai.
Wisana halted and glanced at the foreigner. Maysa and Waree did the same.
The man with blue eyes looked at Wisana nonchalantly. But when he noticed Waree, he blinked.
“Waree?”
“Lau?”
Their voices harmonized. Wisana and Maysa looked at them, confused.
“It’s really you, Weree.” The man beamed at her.
“Lau, is this really you? What the heck! You’ve grown so tall!”
Waree was delighted. They put each other in an embrace. That ‘Lau’ guy also greeted Waree with kisses on her cheeks.
“Hey!” The jealous brother screamed loudly.
Maysa had to yank her boyfriend’s arm. “That’s just a westerner’s way of greeting.” She whispered.
“Only a couple of years and you’ve turned into such a beauty.” That man was still beaming.
“You’re as sweet as ever. As expected of a French man.”
Waree smiled and crossed her arms. She scrutinized the man from head to toe and nodded.
“Look at you. You’re so neat I can barely recognize you anymore. Look at this hairstyle. How did you do it? It used to be so messy.”
Then, she patted his head and messed up his hair teasingly. The two men who came with him were so startled that the foreigner had to raise his hand as if to say, “It’s alright.”
Waree threw herself at him again. This time, it was so high up that her feet did not touch the ground. The man did not seem to mind it at all. Actually, he looked quite pleased.
“I miss you so much, Lau. Never thought we’d see each other here.”
“Mhmm...”
The guy nodded. He looked at Wisana and Maysa and gave her a signal. Waree finally realized that they were not alone.
“I’m sorry, Lau. I’ll introduce you to them.”
Waree quickly pushed herself off him and turned to her brother.
Good thing that Wisana could understand English well, otherwise he would not be able to know what they were talking about. As for Maysa, she used to fly back and forth from England with her father who was a Thai ambassador there, so she could make out some of it.
“This is my brother, Wisana. The one I told you about.”
Waree introduced her brother first. The man quickly offered his hand for a handshake. Wisana raised his eyebrow before reluctantly giving in.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Wisana. When we were in LA, Waree talked so much about you every day.” The man smiled. “My name’s Laurent Pierre Di Deschamps. You can call me Lau.”
