Chapter 529: Prisoner of War Part II
Chapter 529: Prisoner of War Part II
“Nuchjaree?!”
“Yeah, that’s me. Sorry that it’s this chopping block again, Mister Black Bullet of the Cataral.”
The owner of those rust-colored eyes said sarcastically as she put her hands on her waist intimidatingly. Sven just blinked at what he was seeing, never expecting this woman to be the one who saved him from that battle.
“I already told you to get back to your friends, didn’t I? Why did you come back?”
“Why, you asked?” The girl talked back in a high-pitched tone.
But then Nuchjaree pretended to look away, clicking her tongue out of frustration. After a while, she managed to walk up to the man in front of her. Her expression looked openly furious when her bare fist was thrown right into Sven’s cheek so hard that his face turned to the side right away!
“What was that for? It hurts, you know?”
“Yeah. That’s the point of punching!”
The girl snapped as she stepped one foot on the bed with full strength, on the spot that was less than a centimeter away from Sven’s fetal point!
“You asked me why I came back. Then let me ask you as well; what the hell was wrong with you to have a fight with enemies in their territory like that?!!”
“Because there was no other way to avoid it,” Sven answered calmly.
“I’m sure there was if you didn’t invade their base like that!”
Nuchjaree bawled at the other right in his face. She was leaning in so close that they almost touched.
“Why are you still making such a calm face? You almost died, but instead of saying thank you, you asked me why I’m still here. Huh, you’re frustrating!”
The listener could only blink in response. His eyes were on her who turned her face away angrily, and his mind got all confused.
“Yeah, that’s why I asked why you came back. You knew how dangerous it was there, and you still risked your life to save mine, why?”
After hearing the question, Nuchjaree froze. And then she gasped like she was surprised because honestly, she did not expect this talk-back.
“Well, that’s because...” The girls could only stutter.
“Because?” while the listener arched his brows curiously.
After getting pushed too much, she looked at his straight face. And seeing his curious face, her face got even more red now. Nuchjaree ground her teeth while she lost all the words to say.
“No reasons. Just rest!”
She said and pushed Sven back down on the bed again, and that caused a whine of pain from the injured one.
“I’m hurt now, you know. Be more gentle with me.” Sven complained.
“You did this to yourself. So, you shouldn’t mind this.” Nuchjaree snapped.
And then she sat down on the bed, before forcing the blanket up on Sven, making him confused that she suddenly treated him nicely after yelling at him. Like damn, he would never ever catch up with how fast her moods could change.
“And how did we get out of there exactly?” Sven asked.
“I shot a smoke bomb to get them confused, then I dragged you out with “Rewind Feather”.”
Hearing that, Sven raised his brows. The Rewind Feather Nuchjaree mentioned was a special skill of “Ranger” class players. It had the ability to wrap the user back to their saved spot right away. That explained why they could escape from those guys that fast.
This time, he really had to give this girl a compliment...
She sure was the intelligence unit chief of Nemesis.
“Where are we right now?” Sven continued.
“Albasta, not far from Tristan. It’s just that my guild signed some business contract with this town before the war started. So, I have some connections here as well. Luckily, this town doesn’t join the war, so there’re some services available for us.”
“So, this place is?” Sven looked around the room.
“Yeah, the hotel in Albasta.” Nuchjaree smiled faintly. “I apologize for not being able to find better hospitality for the leader of Cataral. This isn’t a VIP room, but the bed is very comfortable. I often check in here.”
Sven smiled at her words and then sighed when he could finally be relieved.
So, the tall man lay down carefreely. He looked up at the girl who was sitting close to him. When their eyes met, it was Nuchjaree who instantly turned away.
“Anyway, for whatever reason that makes you come back, thank you so much for saving me, Nuchjaree.”
The one who got complimented started blushing, not daring to look the other directly in the eyes.
“Y ...yeah.” She forced her voice to reply.
Sven curled up a smile at that. Then he sighed slightly, before deciding to get up again, making the one next to him jump.
“What are you up again for? I used items to heal some of your wounds, but I can’t heal the one on your shoulder, you know. You need to rest some more.”
“I ...don’t have time.”
The man clenched his jaws as he tried to stand up, but his injuries made him lose balance and Nuchjaree had to catch him.
“See? You’re not okay. So, please, just rest!” She snapped.
“I need to get back to my guild, Nuchjaree,” Sven said. “Those people, the ones that I spied on, they’re plotting something. And it’ll be too late if I’m not going to my guild and act now.”
Sven said, then audibly ground his teeth. He reached up to his right shoulder, wondering how long it had been since the last time he was hurt this badly. The man named Lucius was really dangerous!
“Tomorrow is not too late, Sven. The wound on your shoulder is awful, as well as the vision of travelling in the rain outside right now. So, let’s check you in the hospital in town tomorrow, get your wound healed, and then you continue on your way.”
“I can’t wait.” Sven disagreed right away. “Now is the perfect time. They’re probably not expecting me to go back to my guild through this poor vision. Plus, it will be more difficult to sneak back when the sun’s up. My camp is on the other side, I have to go across Tristan no matter what. If I want to go there, I have to go right now.”
“What if you run into them on the way?”
Nuchjaree asked in a raspy voice, her voice looked obviously worried.
But seeing that, Sven shrugged like he was unbothered. Then he smiled gently at her.
“I’d probably make it back to my guild faster, I guess. But I’d lose some of my EXP and be in the hospital for weeks.”
Nuchjaree frowned because he told her that with such a calm face. Then she pushed the man’s chest harshly, making him raise his eyebrows.
“Yeah, keep dreaming!” She snapped.
“Huh?!”
“When I tried to deny myself, you jumped after me to pull me back up. And now you’re trying to do that, too? In your dream, Sven, because I’m not going to let you do that, even though I have to use my force to stop you!”
Those clear, straightforward words made Sven crack out a chuckle right away.
“Girl, this is not the time to get back at me.”
“Y ...yeah, sorry about that, but I’m the most revengeful woman in the world!”
