Chapter 519: Blending In Part I
Chapter 519: Blending In Part I
“It’s good to know everyone is safe.”
The deep low voice was from the tall man sitting on a large chair that turned away from the desk as if he wanted to look at the night view of Bangkok better. One of his hands was holding a burning cigarette that had not once smocked in at all, while the other one was holding a phone to his ear.
“That is good. I have to thank Alice for saving everyone. Things would have been so much worse if there wasn’t her.” The man on the chair spoke in a tired voice. “Anyway, please continue to keep your eyes on them. Keep them safe, Pairin.”
“Yes, Sir.”
The sweet voice replied before the call was hung up. He let out a long sigh. His hand was shaking as it clenched around the phone tightly.
“What are those kids planning to do? Everything is all your fault, Frazier.” He whispered to himself. “Because of your madness, everything’s been messed up like this.”
KNOCK! KNOCK!
But a moment later, there were a couple of knocks on the door, followed by the light from outside shining in the room once the door swung open with the shadow of a person standing in the doorway.
“What are you doing here, hm, old man?” The annoying voice rang up.
Hearing that, the man turned his chair around to look at the newcomer.
And then he saw a tall man with long hair kept in a loose ponytail. Moreover, this man was dressed in a white shirt topped with his favorite blazer. A few of his shirt buttons were undone, revealing his tanned chest. His face looked like he was in a good mood with an unfamiliar way of grooming his beard.
“Win?” The man at the desk greeted.
“If you don’t hurry home, your lovely daughter will get worried.” The tall man named Win greeted him back with an irritating expression.
“What about you? If you don’t hurry home, your wife won’t stop complaining.”
The older man talked back in a stiff voice. And hearing that, the irritating one chuckled.
“I told you I’m working overtime tonight.”
“I’m working overtime, too.”
The man at the desk replied with a tired face. Then he moved his chair in the light, revealing a man in his 60s sitting on it. His white hair was slicked back off his forehead, making him look clean. His neat clothes made him look strangely dignified. His aged face had a white beard growing around his mouth.
“The company president is doing OT? Isn’t it too strange for that?” Mawin talked back.
“Huh! it’s just as strange as the company consultant doing it." The older man did, too. Then, he narrowed his eyes to the other one in front of him. “But anyway, what in the world processed you to grow your beard like this, Win?”
The one who was asked raised his eyebrows.
“It’s cool, isn’t it? Nit even said I look handsome like Robert Downy Junior.”
“You look like a dog.”
After nagging, the old man grinned, making the one who just got compared to a dog flinch and hurriedly reach up to touch his beard.
“I never get my daughter’s taste. What does she even see in a slick ass like you?”
“Huh, are you trying to pick a fight or what, old man!?” Mawin held his fist up.
“Especially about this irritating manner of yours. Who in the wide world even calls their father-in-law an old man like you do?”
Mawin made a snorting sound out of his throat, before placing his hand on his waist.
“You want me to call you ‘Father’ that much, Uncle?”
The old man openly looked disgusted after hearing that. Then he pushed himself up, grabbed his suit jacket that was hanging from his chair, and put it on right away.
“Let’s not. I already got a goosebump thinking about it.” The old man said.
“You’re irritating.” The son-in-law nagged as loud as he could.
Shortly after, the older man put out the cigarette on an ashtray on his desk without taking the smock in his lungs at all. Clearly, he just got too stressed out to even breathe it in, and Mawin knew right away what the old man before him was serious about.
After the older man walked to him, he sighed and tilted his head up to look at his son-in-law who was slightly taller than him.
“You already know what’s happening, don’t you?” He asked.
“Yeah, I do.” Mawin nodded in response. “Don’t think that you’re the only one who gets the best assistant, old man. My secretary is one of the best as well.”
The older one let out a long sigh again. He pretended to look away as if he was considering something.
“Maybe it’s time to arrange an urgent meeting.” He said wearily.
After hearing that, Mawin let out a sigh. “Yeah, maybe it’s time we discuss this.”
“But damn, the organization is in chaos right now, too. The French branch had just promoted the new leader, and now this. Like, come on.”
The old man reached up to ruff his hair in displeasure. Meanwhile, Mawin frowned at his words.
“So, they really made that kid the leader?” He asked the other one.
“Damn right they did.”
“How? Didn’t we tell them that he’s still too young?” Mawin shouted aloud.
“Well, because his skills are way beyond his age. Don’t you know that this kid almost once got chosen to be the king of all instead of Wisana?”
“I do.” Mawin huffed out a sigh.
“At least we can be relieved, because his skills are real.”
“But I hate this brat. You see his upturned nose? I really want Wisana to punch it to the side so much!”
The old man sighed out of boredom.
“You hate the kid’s attitude, or you hate him because he’s closer to your daughter than you?”
“That’s irrelevant!” Mawin yelled aloud.
“Hope that’s true.” The old man curled up a soft smile. “But at least he’s friends with Nam, best friends even. So, you should be open-minded with him, because I’m sure he will come to this urgent meeting as the leader of the French branch.”
“Huh! Good thing is that Nam’s in Chiang Mai now. So, he will absolutely not get to see my daughter.”
The older man chuckled.
“Actually, the beard started to suit you now, you know.” He said, before grinning.
“What do you mean by that, old man?!” Mawin snapped at him.
“Well, most fathers who are possessive over their daughters have a beard. So, the beard started to suit you, because you’re such a jealous dog right now, Win!”
The old man burst out in a good mood of laughter after he finished speaking. He pushed his son-in-law to the side, before walking past him to the door, leaving the one who got one-sided attacked grinding his teeth tightly.
“Oi, you have a beard, too, don’t you?!” Mawin shouted at the old man’s back.
“Huh, if I was actually possessive over my daughter, I would not have given Nit to someone so out of her league like you.”
“Hey, you old snake, get back here and say that to my face once more!”
Then the outsider of the league stomped after the old man who was walking away with a satisfied laugh.
“Go home, dumbass. You’re keeping your wife waiting.”
“You go home, too, old man. Your daughter probably has been frowning by now!”

“How’re they doing?”
The soft voice rang up from behind, making the slim one who was sitting on a small chair flinch a little. Her light grey eyes then turned to see Shindanai leaning against the door frame with an emotionless face.
“Nothing to worry about their physical injuries, but this guy’s still unconscious.”
The slim girl replied. She reached out to touch the cheek of her boyfriend who was lying on the bed defeatedly. Even though he did not have any wounds on his body, his face when he was asleep already showed how exhausted he was.
“What about you, Shin?”
Maysa asked the man standing at the door with a tired smile.
“I’m alright. I thought it would be worse at first, but well...”
Shindanai said with a slight shrug.
“And Nam?” Maysa asked.
“Still unconscious as well,” Shindanai answered briefly. “She has the same condition as this guy.”
