Chapter 490: Mysterious News Part III
Chapter 490: Mysterious News Part III
“You’re saying that these NPCs don’t have feelings, Mister Vincent?”
Wisana sighed at the question. Then he chose to look away.
“I’m not saying that. But you have to understand. Well, okay, at least understand that she’s a dragon and I’m a human. Don’t you think it’ll be funny if the two of us have a romantic relationship?”
“No, it’s not funny at all if you ask me.”
Lex spoke clearly, then slowly nodded, and continued to explain.
“It’s just all about love. She told you clearly that she just wanted to love you, and that you didn’t need to love her back, didn’t she? She didn’t say that to please you, you know. She was being sincere. Well, I probably don’t understand thoroughly since I don’t have a lover, but I understand one thing, ‘you can’t choose who you love.’ But you have a girlfriend, I’m sure you get that.”
Wisana really wanted to throw up at how cheesy this man was, but he had enough etiquette. He never expected this nerd to speak in a love poem like this before.
“Yeah, I do,” Wisana replied to him briefly.
“Then we’re good, Mister Vincent.” Lex smiled in response. “You can just keep your love life in the real world out of this, can’t you? She only asked to love you in the Pride world. You don’t have to share your love for your girlfriend with her that much. Just cherish her, care for her sometimes, and look after her as well as how you swore to look after your daughter, that’s all. At least do it as a dragon warrior.”
If he could reach out to pat his shoulder right now Lex would have done it already. However, it was his words that made Wisana change his perspective about this. It was not the responsibility but caring that he had to give Sarquros. It was not a duty, but it was something he should do. The differences between these then were like different sides of the same coin. But that was the right thing to do.
He could just choose not to be doing this, but that definitely was not him.
After the thoughts, Wisana forced out a smile, even though it was a completely wry smile.
“I got it.” He sighed. “I’ll try to sort this problem out by myself, including the issue with my girlfriend, but, if there’s a funeral, you’re responsible to be a host on the second night, okay? The first night is already booked.”
Lex laughed at this man’s humor. Even though the situation was going bad, he always knew how to release stress. The man knew that to keep complaining did not make anything better.
And this was a characteristic of a good leader.
“Oh, and about the ring, uh, I mean the Sarquros’ Command.”
Lex spoke after he realized. So, Wisana brought the ring up to the screen.
“This one?”
“Yes.” Lex nodded. “You have to keep it safe with you all the time. For a bonded dragon, the item makes their master’s orders absolute so the dragon can’t resist or disobey.”
Wisana raised his brows, not understanding any word coming out of the thick-glasses nerd before him.
“Explain.” He ordered.
“You already have ‘Dragon Command’ skill in active right, Mister Vincent?”
“Yeah.” Wisana nodded with his reply.
“Dragon Command is the skill to control your dragon in command. However, it has a limit that the dragon you’re commanding has to have a lower level than you, so you can use the skill at 100% efficiency without any problem. So, in Samie’s case, her levels are way beyond yours. That’s why your Dragon Command will barely be effective on her.”
Wisana nodded in agreement. He understood if the master was weaker than their dragon, then it was normal for the dragon to not obey them.
“For that reason, Sarquros’ Command will make Samie absolutely follow your orders. When you wear it on, you’ll be able to use Dragon Command fully effectively.”
“I see.” Wisana nodded again. “So, this item is very important, huh? Since she seems like one of those rash ones.”
“Yeah, just like you.” Lex talked back teasingly.
“Shut up.” Wisana let out a bored sigh.
“Another thing,” Lex said. “Don’t return the ring back to Samie ever, because that will be very offensive to her pride and dignity.”
“Why?” Wisana arched his eyebrows.
“Well, to return the given item means to cancel the bond between the player and the dragon. But for the dragon, it will be like getting abandoned for not being skilled enough by its own master. So, please don’t do that to her, do you understand?”
“Yeah, I do.” Wisana sighed again. “I won’t do that. Only the worst people would do that. At least I know how Samie feels for me now. So, even though I can’t accept it all, I’ll try not to reject it, okay?”
Wisana said, before ruffing his hair harshly, but that made Lex curl up a satisfied smile.
“You’re so kind.” He said smilingly.
“Your compliment doesn’t help lighten up my mood.”
“No, that was unironically, really.” Lex grinned. “I don’t know if I should feel sorry or jealous of your girl. I’m sorry for her that you’re too popular and attractive to girls because you’re kind and friendly to everyone. But sometimes that can be a double-edged sword, you know. However, your girlfriend is enviable for how you love her very much. Or else you wouldn’t hastily call me like this. Instead, you would have been smiling and accepting it as it was already since Samie is this beautiful.”
Wisana smiled slightly. He pushed a sigh out of his nose softly, scratching the nape of his neck to ease shyness.
“Well, you’ll get it once you love someone.” Wisana winked. “And when you find them, you will do anything for them willingly, even giving her your life.”
Lex blinked. Then he smiled until it became an amused laugh.
“Mister Vincent,”
“Yeah?”
“Let me go get a bag. I think I’m going to throw up.”
Hearing that, Wisana burst into a loud laugh right away.
“What, even you said something like this, then why can’t I?”
“No, that’s just too much.” Lex shook his head, “Oh, there’s another thing, Mister Vincent.”
“What now? You sure have a lot of things.”
“This is the most important one.” Lex’s face started to look serious all of a sudden. “About Samie, you have to be careful not to let her get hurt or die.”
Wisana froze for a moment. “Why?”
“A dragon that was bonded by the ceremony is in a different condition from a dragon bonded by blood like Mona Lisa. The dragon bonded by the ceremony can’t respawn once they are killed. So, please be very careful about this.”
The listener gasped slightly as he blinked like this was a lot to process.
“So, when she dies, she just dies for good? Doesn’t she respawn back in Drago Hild?”
“No, she doesn’t.” Lex shook his head. “Most monsters have memory backup data, so they will be the same monsters after respawning. But some that replace one another like Sarquros don’t have that. She will be deleted from Pride completely after she dies, and the egg she laid will take her place as the local boss, and that will be Mona Lisa.”
