“You’re still loud as usual, Jeng. Just open your dumb eyes to see if the woman is your enemy or not!”

“That hurts, Grandpa!” The victim shouted in pain. “Well, she’s a monster, isn’t she? Her movement was fast like that, and she just knocked our people out easily, too, Grandpa!”

“If she was a monster, you all would have been dead by now, you fool!”

The old man snapped loudly, making the one with his arm locked freeze and not say a word. In the meantime, the elder glanced at Wisana right away. Their eyes met for a moment, and finally, the old man’s smile spread across his face.

“I apologize for my stupid grandson and the guys, too, girl. It’s just that our village’s been having trouble. We saw strangers walking in, so we had to defend ourselves first.”

Hearing that, Wisana blew out a sigh of relief.

Finally, someone realized that he was not an enemy!!

So, he gave the old man a sweet smile in return right away.

After speaking, Wisana looked up at Jinnie, who was still floating in the sky. The old man’s eyes followed before he curled up a soft smile.

Wisana replied smilingly, feeling kind of weird since he was not yet used to talking like a girl.

“If this is what it is, can you stop twisting my arm and putting the gum away from my head already, jerk!”

“Uh!”

Wisana shouted discreetly. He totally forgot that he was pressing his leg against the other’s neck all the time they were talking. After realizing this, the slim one hurriedly got up, so the one whose arm was locked all along could push himself up and stretch his arms.

“If you’re really not a sand monster, you should have gotten off me faster. You almost broke my arm. You puffed chest!”

“Puffed chest?”

The one who got called looked down at his chest right away. And it seemed that wearing only a jacket on a top bikini was a bit too revealing. After realizing that, the one with too much breast reached his hands up to cover his chest out of instinct.

“You should put a limit on being bad-mouthed sometimes, Jeng. If you don’t want to be single for the rest of your life, you need to learn how to speak to women respectfully.”

The old man, who seemed to be his grandfather, warned with a tired face. A second later, he turned to give Wisana a wide smile right away. And this time, Wisana noticed that his front teeth were all missing.

“I apologize for his behavior, girl. He’s got the worst mouth.” The old man said with a hint of laughter in his voice. “He’s Jeng. He barks, but he’s not a bad person. So, please forgive him for this one time.”

Hearing that, the old man nodded with a lively laugh.

“You’re probably a tourist who came to Vanilia’s hot spring, right?”

The old man asked, and Wisana nodded in response. He looked confused as he looked around this worn-up place again.

“Er, is this town still open for tourism? Because it doesn’t seem like it is. If I’m disturbing you guys here, I’ll leave now.”

Hearing the question, the expression on the old man’s face changed a little. He hurriedly let go of the girls who were supporting him. After that, he held one of those wrinkled hands out to Wisana with a smile that got slightly wry that Wisana could see it.

“Don’t worry about that, we welcome every tourist here. My name is Khao, or you can call me grandpa Khao, too.”

Wisana shook hands with the grandfather gently, before nodding,

“And what do I call you, girl?” The old man asked.

“Uh, me...?” The one who was asked for his name dropped a sweat. He just realized that he forgot to make up a name for his woman self, too. “Er, my name is, Wi ...I mean my name is Vissara.”

“That’s a strange name, but it kind of sounds nice.”

The man smiled in response and nodded at him gently.

“If you’re here for a visit, Vanilia town’s glad to have you.” The grandpa said smilingly. “Anyway, you girls should come to take some rest inside the hotel, you and those who are flying up there, too. You came from a long way, right?”

“Yes,”

Wisana waved at Jinnie as a sign that the situation here was calm now. The AI saw that, so she carried Mona Lisa who was still wriggling down to her master right away.

“These two are friends of yours, Miss Vissara?” The old man asked.

“Not really,” Wisana replied. “The one with blonde hair is my AI, and the little one is...”

“Papa!”

He did not finish his sentence, because little Mo jumped right at her father right away, almost making Wisana drop her. The little child was hugging her father tightly, before glancing at everyone else with eyes that looked like she was ready to fight!

“Papa?”

The old man repeated with a curious face as well as the rest who were looking at Wisana at the same time. Especially Jeng, he was looking at him doubtfully.

“Uh, this one is my daughter,” Wisana answered with a wry smile.

“Your daughter?!!”

Everyone shouted in unison. Of course, they never expected a woman to be anyone’s mother this young.”

“How many times have I told you to call me Mom already?”

Wisana said, bending down to speak with his daughter right away.

“Eh, but Papa is... oops.

Mona Lisa was about to argue, but Wisana was faster. He quickly shut his daughter’s mouth smoothly. At the same time, he turned to give a smile to the people around him.

“Don’t say anything anymore, Mo. Stay quiet and be a good girl, okay?”

He turned back to give her a signal for her to go along with it. How he blinked rapidly to imply that seemed to be working well because Mona Lisa nodded in understanding now.

Grandpa Khao said with a delighted smile. Hearing that, Wisana turned to the people there who were trying to force up a smile for him. Seeing that, he narrowed his eyes.

He made a voice like he did not want to bother anyone, but Grandpa Khao waved his hand at it.

“It’s alright. You’re already here in Vanilia, so you should try our hot spring once, you’re going to like it. Also, our chef can make very delicious food, too, you know.”

Hearing that, Wisana could not say no to the invitation of this old man at all, so he grudgingly nodded along in acceptance. Grandpa Khao then glanced at his grandson, nodding at him as a sign to lead the girls to the hotel. The one who was ordered like that rolled his eyes, not looking so fond of that.

“Come, puffed chest, I’ll show you the hotel’s lobby!”

Jeng spoke up aloud, making the girls jump. And Wisana turned to give the foul-mouthed a look right away.

“You need to stop calling me that.” He said in an annoyed voice.

“Why? There’s nothing on you more outstanding than that. So, stop wasting my time and hurry up!”

The one who was said to have something too huge only let out a sigh of boredom. But finally, he grudgingly followed the tall man with a bad mouth, even though little Mo was giving him a mean look with her bright, big eyes.

As Jeng and Wisana’s party walked toward the big building at the further end of the village, the huge, bearded man named Berm walked to Grandpa Khao right after.

“Chief, we shouldn’t let anyone get involved in this.” Uncle Berm said with an uncomfortable face.

The words made the old man huff out a long sigh.

His sharp eyes were looking after Wisana quietly like something was going on in his mind.

“But you saw it, Berm, how skilled this girl is.” The old man said calmly. “Even Pride staff have abandoned us now. And we have to admit that we’re not strong enough to protect this village. So, why is it wrong if I beg a strong one to protect us?”

“But is she going to accept that?”

Uncle Berm’s words stunned Grandpa Khoa for a moment before the old man curled up a smile finally. His eyes were on the slim one who was walking inside the hotel.”

“I’m good at looking through people, you know. And that girl is surely going to help us. I knew who she really was within a glimpse.”
