Chapter 402: The Real War Part IV

Chapter 402: The Real War Part IV

And Sven was confident that he had never been wrong on calculation once, except on that battle.

He was greatly confident that he was able to take Vincent down.

At the second his shot almost made that guy one of his war prisoners, but his calculation missed. The shot was taken by a little child and her attacking back nearly killed him, even.

That was the first time that his plan went wrong. It might look like a fluke for Vincent because it would be silly for him to make a tiny girl take the damage for himself.

Anyway, that was when he made a mistake for the first time.

And that man was the one who made his plan fail.

After thinking, Sven curled up a smile that looked like he was disappointed, but it also looked like a smile of relief as well. He started to understand now why Marcus and Lavi were obsessed with the man this much.

He was the only player that Sven could not calculate his true abilities in numbers.

“What a shame.”

Suddenly, Sven spoke up as he thought, making Nuchjaree pause.

“What? What are you regretting about?”

Sven just looked at her with a smile without saying a word, while he was thinking to himself that this battle, no, since the last war, he always felt that the victories he got were too easy and meaningless.

So, this war was the same.

If the Nemesis was blocked out of the war like this, then he started to see the future somehow now. The red pirates’ army would be defeated within a month. No matter how strong Valentine’s defense was, just her alone would never be enough. Eventually, Marcus and Lavi would destroy her ground in a brief time and his side would be the winner.

He would not call that a war.

That would be just like the previous one, an official kid bullying.

But he wanted it. He wanted to see the real war.

He was also curious to see how long Vicent was going to stay modest!

“What’s up? Why are you suddenly saying weird things and then smiling to yourself like that? Are you a psycho?!”

Nuchjaree snapped again, placing her sandwich back on the plate.

Seeing that, Sven cracked into a laugh, glancing at her face finally.

“What a shame that I didn’t bring you any new clothes. I should bring you a dress next time. I think you look good in a dress.”

Hearing that, Nuchjaree’s face turned all red to her ears. She managed to throw a pillow at Sven again. But this time, he was too lazy to dodge it, so he caught it with his hand instead.

“Pervert!” She bawled. “I’m not a doll for you to dress up for fun. Also, keep dreaming that I would put on a dress for a person like you to see again!”

“Why not?”

Sven already knew the answer, but he pretended like he did not anyway.

“None of your business!!”

“Why do you want to dress like a boy? Girls’ stuff suits you. To be honest, you’re kind of good-looking, too, even though you’re less curvy than a Yakult bottle.”

“You-jerk!!!”

After the shout, a storm of pillows crashed all over the room right away, leaving the tall man the very least time to evacuate himself to behind that coffee table.

----------------

“What?! The Nemesis didn’t come with the other army?!”

A shout from the top of someone’s lungs was heard resoundingly through the area, even though there were some loud explosion noises and yelling from the battle that was going on around.

Marcus was now tightening his large hands around his man’s shoulders, shaking him back and forth harshly with his own immense strength, making his head swing uncontrollably.

“What is that supposed to mean? Why isn’t the Nemesis coming? What about that Vincent guy? Crap, then what did I come all the way to Tristan for?”

“Ugh, Bo ...ss, sir, ...if you ...keep shaking ... me like this, I’ll ... throw up.”

Hearing that, Marcus clicked his tongue with dissatisfaction, before taking off his hands on his close thin guild member named Wittaya right away.

They were standing on the top of a building in the north of Tristan. From the 60 floors above the ground, Marcus could see the view around the capital clearly, and he was wondering why he had not seen any trace of Vincent.

The answer was that the kid did not join this battle.

“Are you sure?” He turned to ask his man again.

“More than sure, even. We just checked a while ago and we could only detect Valentine’s signal, and we didn’t see Vincent anywhere.”

“Could he be ambushing from outside the battle or something?”

Suddenly, another voice asked up. It was from a small man who just appeared out of nowhere to be standing next to Marcus with a man who had his face and body covered in a large gray cloak.

The owner of the question was Lavi. His sharp eyes were staring at Wittaya like he was forcing the answer out of the man.

“No, he is definitely not, Mister Lavi,” Wittaya replied. “We just had the little bee station fly around the area, and we didn’t see any support unit or anyone from the Nemesis at all.”

Hearing that, Lavi knitted his eyebrows together tightly, while Marcus looked extremely disappointed. His large hands were messing with the dreaded hair frustratedly as Lavi turned his face away, scratching the nape of his neck.

“Come on, if Vincent’s not here, then there’s no reason for me to be here either!”

Marcus shouted angrily. The tall man looked like he was about to leave by jumping down from the top of the 60-floor building. And seeing that, his small close man Wittaya jumped, hurriedly grabbing his leader’s shirt sleeve.

“That’s probably not good! Are you just going to let us fight on our own like this? What are we supposed to do without you giving orders?”

“I don’t know!” Marcus turned to yell at him. “Let Tryne handle it. The other side only has Valentine, so I don’t see how it’s scary at all.”

“Come on, how could you say that? Even though that’s just one out of the four gods, that’s Miss Valentine, Boss. Also, chief Tryne is fighting in the battlefield right now, so he’s too busy to be in charge.”

“You handle it yourself then. You’re the chief of staff, too, aren’t you? So, go show off your skills.”

After pushing the responsibility away, Marcus dropped himself down from the building right away. The small chief jumped. It was too late to yell after that leader now, so he decided to rush down the fire escape busily.

"That was very irresponsible of him, damn.”

Lavi was the one who spoke up briefly, before letting out a sigh.

“I hope that you wouldn’t do the same thing, would you, boss?”

Another voice followed. The owner of it was a man of the same height in a gray colored cloak. He curled up a slight smile, making Lavi shake his head.

“Honestly, realizing that Vincent isn’t going to be in this battle kind of gets me bored as well.” Lavi said wearily, “But if I sneak out of here, Em’ll give me a long butt lecture, too.”

“What are you going to do then?” The man in the cloak asked.

“I’m not going to do anything. I’ll just stay here and observe the battle. If there’s something interesting happening there, I might be joining them.”

Hearing that, the other one slipped out a laugh.

“Then I think that your legs will get sore standing here because I never see you interested in anyone except for Vincent.”
