Chapter 398: Mission to Steal the Crystal (2) Part IV
Chapter 398: Mission to Steal the Crystal (2) Part IV
“Oh, I increased the degree, making it a lot faster to get drunk. Especially the ones I told Lala to serve to William, that’s the strangest one. I named it the Dragon Conqueror.”
Hearing that, Mek burst out a loud laugh, slapping his knee out of satisfaction.
“I can see now why they’re wasted like that,” Mek said smilingly.
“Anyway, what about you? What did you put in the booze?”
Hearing Manoch’s question, Mek curled up a cunning smile right away.
“It’s a secret, my friend, but I assure you that you’ll be wheezing about it tomorrow.”
Manoch slipped out a laugh as well, but he changed his mood quickly. He waved his hand to Mek as a sign that they better proceed to their next plan before something went wrong. After getting the confirmation, the two companions started rushing out into the dark instantly.
Most people in the temporary base of the red pirates were crowding at the party at the moment. Every tent was empty and quiet, except for the furthest tent that was the target of the two.
The tent that kept the holy crystals inside.
The tent that was still unexpectedly being guarded by a player, making Manoch and Mek hit their brakes instantly, barely found a place to hide.
“Damn it. The others are having a fun feast like that, but this guy still didn’t join them?” Manoch whined out of feeling displeased.
“I wish I could have this guy at my house. With loyalty in his job like this, no thieves would break into my house ever.”
Mek said, scratching the nape of his neck.
“I guess we need a plan B now, Mek.”
“Totally.”
Then the two looked at the guard at the tent that kept the holy crystals. He was a tall man with short messy hair and a sword in his hand.
Seeing that, Manoch looked at the other side of the tent. Then he held his thumb up to send a signal to someone who was standing there.
One moment later, there was a slim figure of someone walking out of the dark shadow over there. The holy crystals’ guard jumped as he turned to look at that person with his sword in readiness right away.
“Who’s there?!” He brawled resoundingly.
“Goodness!”
With his loud voice, the newcomer jumped, too. She tripped and fell to the ground right away. And that was all to make the guard raise his eyebrows.
He looked in the direction that the high-pitched voice came from and saw that she was a woman that he had probably seen once before. He knew that she was in the Nemesis guild and worked in the medical unit or something like that.
Why would he even recognize her?
Because this woman had a very outstanding character.
Not just the fair skin and a cute-looking face, but also those things that she had gotten an immense load from her mother.
“You’re Miss Aerin from the Nemesis, aren’t you?”
The man asked. He finally curled up a smile after he saw that the one who just appeared out from the dark was not some kind of an attacker. He was actually a little happy to see her because this girl was quite popular among men on the topic of whether ‘her bras are a bigger size than D or not?’
“Sorry for startling you like this.”
Aerin spoke in a shy manner. She hurriedly bowed her head a little at him, even though she had not been able to stand up yet.
“Oh, that’s fine, so white!”
The man was intentionally about to accept her apology, but something distracted him from what he was doing. The girl in front of him was flashing her underwear again, making him embarrassed instead. He swallowed his saliva down.
“White?” Aerin raised her eyebrows.
“Oh, no, there’s nothing.”
The man brushed her off, before turning his face away as he walked closer and held his hand out to help get her up.
“By the way, what are you doing here by yourself? Everyone is having fun at the party over there.”
Aerin asked, grabbing his hand and using it as support to stand up.
Meanwhile, the man who was so happy with a hand touch with this cute girl, hurriedly acted cool, then shook his head in reply.
“My duty is to guard the holy crystals, so I can’t join them right now.”
Hearing that, Aerin blinked a couple of times.
“Eh, isn’t that unfair?”
“It’s okay. It’s a duty.”
This guy quickly acted manly right away, even though he had already been insulting William’s dad for assigning him this boring job, while all his friends were out there having fun with the party!
“But I think you deserve some time to relax as well. It’s totally not fair for you to be lonely here by yourself.”
Aerin looked up and gave him a sweet smile, making the one who was stared at start blushing.
“N ...no. I’m fine. I can’t leave because I’m assigned to guard the tent.
“W ...well, ...actually, I’m feeling alone, because I’m here by myself, too.”
These words of hers made the guy stunned. He noticed that Aerin’s face was blushing a little, as she was seemingly shy and avoiding his eyes.
“A ...and what about that?” The guy tried guessing.
“Well, if it isn’t too much to ask, I’d like you to come to the party with me, please?”
“Er ...but I.”
When he was about to reject her this time, Aerin drew her ultimate card out. She managed to take his rough hand and place it on her chest. That action almost got blood running out of his nose. Meanwhile, the two guys Manoch and Mek exclaimed "Whoa" in unison.
“You can feel how lonely my heart is now, right?” Aerin said in a sad voice. “S ...so, please come with me.”
“Yes! I’ll go with you everywhere!”
Finally, the guard could not help but fall for Aerin’s trap, too. She clung to his arm right away, before taking him away from the tent like she was taking a dog out for a walk. Meanwhile, that guard was just thinking to himself, “It’s like winning the lottery!” as he went.
It did not take long before the two of them disappeared, leaving only Manoch and Mek who were slowly peeking out of their hiding spot. Then they looked at each other in shock.
“Did you tell her to go that hard?” Manoch asked.
“No, that’d be crazy, man. Who would have asked her that? Even though this is just a game, that would be a crime.”
“Y ...yeah, you’re right.” Manoch stuttered. “She can be bold, too, huh, Miss Aerin.”
“Or she just doesn’t care about that at all.”
After speaking, the two shrugged at each other as in ‘Whatever,” and moved on.
Finally, there was no obstruction on their way to the target anymore. It took a few moments for the merchants to get inside the tent where the holy crystals were kept. In the small space inside the tent, there was just a table with two crystals placed on it.
There was no trap.
No NPC guards.
Not even a single district curse was cast.
Seeing this, the two turned to look at each other wearily.
“I started to feel sorry for our army somehow. Such important crystals like these, their protection is just as soft as a wet napkin.”
Manoch said, sounding fed up.
“Well, that isn’t our problem anymore. Let’s finish this up and get out of here. Alexander is dying to see me back right now, dude.”
But Mek said excitedly.
And Manoch was quite amused by that, maybe it was because their struggle on the project was about to end now. The last material that would make the Alexander complete was finally right here in front of them.
The golden crystals were so clear that they could see it through. Their aura was dazzling in a way that could lighten up the whole room.
“Alright, let’s get this done and bring Alexander to life,” Manoch spoke up.
“Okay, my friend.”
