Chapter 387: Secret Meeting Part IV

Chapter 387: Secret Meeting Part IV

“The meeting’s over?” Wisana asked.

“No. I just sneaked out. The longer I was there, the more I realized that it was pointless.”

Maysa sounded like she could not care any less. She brought herself out to the porch by the water as well, before Wisana noticed that she did not come here alone. She was holding someone in her arms. The little one was leaning her head on Maysa’s shoulder, while she was sleeping soundly.

“Miss Stella said that she’s fine now. She gave her some kind of herbs that made her condition a lot better. So, she told me to bring her back to you.”

The gorgeous girl said, before sitting down next to her boyfriend.

“At least Mo lets you carry her now, huh?”

Maysa cracked into a little laugh at his words.

“I think she’s too defeated to act up. But well, kids are the most adorable when they sleep anyway.”

“That’s right.”

The father said, before leaning closer to look at his child’s face. His rough hand was caressing her clear cheek that had some lock of glossy hair falling on. He curled up a smile, before carefully kissing Mona Lisa on the cheek gently.

“You totally saved Papa’s day. Thank you very much.”

As if she heard him in her sleep, for a second Wisana saw his girl moving her lips into a delighted smile. He and Maysa then looked at each other for a moment, before cracking into laughter in unison. After that, he leaned his face in until his forehead touched Maysa’s softly.

They both were smiling at each other without saying anything.

A moment later, Wisana held his hand up to touch her cheek gently.

“Thank you, too.” He spoke. “If you weren’t there, I would have been captured as a prisoner to the enemies’ base by now.”

“And by now, I would have gone crazy as well.” Maysa giggled. “It’s what I have to do anyway. No matter what happens, I’ll be the one who looks out for you.”

“Yeah.”

The man replied quietly as the woman put one of her arms around her boyfriend’s neck to feel his warmth more.

They understood each other without saying too many words. It was kind of strange that after they sat with each other to look each other in the eyes, to be close, all the pressure and negative feelings they had before were completely gone. They started to have confidence.

They were confident that when the other was by their side, everything would turn out fine.

“How’s the meeting going?”

Wisana asked. He took her hand to hold it on his lap, while Maysa was still holding Mona Lisa with the other. She let out a long sigh, resting her head on his broad shoulder.

“Not so good,” Maysa answered in a slowed voice. “It seems like Willam doesn’t want to make it subtle about hating our guild anymore after I got back at him like that. He didn’t dare raise his voice at me or anything though. He’s probably still scared of you.”

They both cracked out amused laughter after she finished. The two still remember the expression on William’s face when Wisana yanked him by the shirt collar so well.

“I knew from the first glimpse that this guy was nothing. He’d probably be shaking in a battle.” Wisana said.

“His mouth skill is something though,” Maysa said, before smiling amusedly. “The William Star guild is known for being one of the guilds with the most members in the game. There’re some rumors about the leader that say he isn’t that good at combat that much. But if it’s about administration, the guild’s probably the best.”

Wisana whistled after listening to that,

“So, they’re like office workers, right? That’s plain.”

“Well, but there’s still some good in that plain.” Maysa disagreed with a smile. “The guild members are very obedient to his orders. The guild’s benefits are good. Also, there’re many other leaders who are close to William, and they all have a lot of respect for the guy. So, I’m not surprised why he can act bossy around like that.”

“That’s actually smart. Building connections before the war started, huh? Maybe we should do that sometimes as well since we don’t have any allies yet.”

“Well.” Maysa sighed. “Our guild has openly announced that we’re ready to challenge every one of the four gods. So, if there were a guild making an alliance with us, it means that they would become enemies with the four gods as well. That’s why there’s no one who dares to be friends with the Nemesis.”

“I see.”

Wisana replied quietly, before letting out a long sigh, too.

He was aware of that well. Besides the victory, their goal in this war was to build a reputation for the guild. They wanted to make the Pride world confident that he and his friends were definitely able to take the four gods down.

But well, they fell face flat on the ground from the very first battle.

“Things are really not as easy as we think they are, right?” Wisana spoke, sounding worn-out.

“Right,” Maysa replied. “They’re not easy. I was being too naïve, too. I thought that everything would go according to plan, and we’d be the winner eventually.”

After speaking, their hands squeezed into each other softly. Even though no one said it, the word ‘lost’ still popped up in their minds at the same time. This was the first time that everything was not favorable to them at all...

This was the first time that Wisana got helplessly beaten up like this,

The first time that Maysa’s plan turned out to be all wrong.

“Well.”

Suddenly, Wisana spoke up in a harsh voice, startling Maysa a little.

“What?” She asked.

“I think it’s kind of fun like this.” He said, smiling down at her. “Every time, we’ve been fighting as a challenger, haven’t we? We lost this time, but my mom said that the more you lose, the better you get, you know? Because defeat will be our fuel to make ourselves stronger.”

Hearing that, Maysa was surprised a little that his mood shifted this fast. But well, it was his liveliness again that made her giggle.

“Why? What did I say wrong?” Wisana said in a withering voice.

“No, you didn’t. I just think that I’m very lucky.” She said before a big smile came across her face. “Lucky to have you by my side. You’re strong, so I can be weak. If you were someone else, I would have had to act unbothered and be the one who comforted the others instead.”

Wisana did not say anything in reply. He just let out a throaty laugh, before holding her hand tighter.

“We’ll get back at them next time, I promise.”

“Yeah,” Maysa replied.

“We’ll win, and there won’t be something like this happening again.”

“Yeah.”

“I’ll make sure the Nemesis guild is remembered forever. You and I will become the legend of Pride.”

“Yeah.”

“And finally, we’ll have three kids. One girl and two boys.”

“Yeah.”

She was totally carried away. Suddenly, the slim one paused. Her grey eyes widened after it took a while to process the words that came from the one beside her. Then her face was blushing. She pulled herself away, before smacking his shoulder softly.

“You’re unbelievable to joke about that in such a time like this. Now, the mood’s ruined.”
