Chapter 355: Viola and Winter Part VII

Chapter 355: Viola and Winter Part VII

“And what that 1 conquers 1,000 is about?”

“Well, it’s literal as it is.” She grinned. “She had defeated a thousand players by herself. This woman was unstoppable in the war back then. You can say that she’s truly the number one player of Pride because there has never been anyone that can be compared to her after that.”

He whistled after that. The world was really a large place and there was a monster like that living in it, too. Speaking of that, it was such a shame that she was born so many years before him. If she were in the same era as him, maybe he would have got a chance to battle with this Viola girl as well.

He thought, then suddenly giggling. Maysa, who was looking at him, curled up a sweet smile like she knew his thoughts so well.

“If you challenged her in a battle right now, you would surely be known for bullying an elder. Look at her, when she was on the cover, she would probably be around 18-19 years old. So, after 30 years pass, she should be in her 50s by now.”

Hearing that, Wisana laughed.

“You’re right.”

“But you know what else is interesting about this Viola girl?” Maysa said with an amused expression.

“What?”

“Look here.”

She said, before turning the pages into the book and pointing at the article that had the interview about Viola. There was a question that the interviewer asked her what she thought about achieving next.

And the answer that came out of this silver-haired lady was,

‘I’m going to form a guild and make the guild Pride’s forever legend.’

The familiar answer made Wisana look up to catch eyes with Maysa with a big smile and a hmm sound in his throat. Her sentence looked familiar, exactly like how he had once announced it out loud.

“I thought there were just us who were like this.”

Hearing Maysa, he continued reading the next interview question that asked if she already had the name of her guild in mind.

And her answer got Wisana’s eyes widened instantly...

‘The Dominion.’

“Dominion?” He repeated after he read.

The Dominion guild, that was Marcus’ guild, wasn’t it? If so, this woman was the founder of the guild, and the guild had become the legend of Pride until today, exactly like she announced in the interview.

“This’s kind of shocking, isn’t it?” Maysa smiled amusedly.

“Yeah.” He nodded. “I’m so shocked. I never thought that she would be the one who formed one of the four gods’ guilds, and the guild has become legendary just like how she wanted.”

“She’s probably the type of person that won’t give up until they succeed. It must be that kind of person to be able to become legendary.”

Maysa smiled sweetly as she honestly admired this silver-haired woman. Viola had everything that she wanted to have, including elegance and skills. If Maysa had to look for someone to be her role model, this woman was the most perfect one for her right now.

“These old magazines are very useful, you know,” Maysa said with a smile. “There’re articles about the war, including the strategies used in the battlefield back then as well. I think I can learn from them and use them in our war as well.”

“And there’s only one here?”

Wisana asked out of curiosity because he was kind of interested in reading these old game magazines as well. Maybe that was because there were still many more interesting things about the game that he had never known of.

“There’s plenty more. I found about ten of them.”

She said, pointing in another direction to show him a pile of the same magazines there. After seeing that, Wisana sat up slowly, before crawling and reaching for one of them with interest.

He took the one on the top and saw that it was an issue that was out in the same year as the one that Maysa was reading, ...but this one was published many months later. That cover had a short-black-haired man on it. He had a pair of sharp amber eyes and a very lively-looking smile that almost looked annoying.

“Winter?”

Wisana read his name softly, making Maysa who was sitting with her knees up lean in to look at the book in his hands as well...

“The later rising star who has bravely announced to make his Bunny Burner guild legendary. The man’s ready to challenge Viola fairly.”

After the sentences ended, their eyes caught each other for another time.

“Winter?” Wisana repeated.

“Bunny Burner?” Maysa, too.

And then a wry smile came across each of their faces.

“Valentine’s guild?!”

----------------

In a quiet bedroom, the sound of the clock was ticking at a steady rhythm. The pendulum hanging from it was swinging left to right continuously. And then there was a slim woman sitting still on her bed for about half an hour now.

She did not make any move, and she was staring at a photo in her hands all the time. It was a photo of a tall woman with long, flowing silver hair and a man with short, black hair. Their eyes were the same color. It seemed that they did not get along so well because it was obvious from how they were facing and sneering at each other, unbothered by anyone who could possibly take this photo of them.

Moreover, at the bottom of the photo, there was a signature written scribbly in black magic ink, saying,

‘Viola & Winter’

She, who kept staring at this photo at that time, really wanted to smile, but she could not. Her small hands were gripping the framed photo tightly. But a while later, there was a clear drop of tears falling on the frame glass, followed by the sound of her sobbing uncontrollably.

~ Someone’s calling. Pick up the call. Please pick up the call right away! ~

Suddenly, there was a ringtone coming from her cell phone echoingly in the room. Wimon, who was sitting on the bed, hurriedly wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. She inhaled as deeply as she could before reaching for the phone on the headboard of her bed.

“Alice?” She greeted the other in a serious voice.

“Yes, it’s me.”

“You probably saw it, the fighting test between him and me this morning.”

Wimon lowered her voice like she was trying to restrain her sensitive emotions from a few seconds ago.

“Yes, I did from the memory system in your brainwave.”

Hearing that, Wimon pressed her lips together, letting out a hard sigh.

“His physical body has awakened. right now, Wisana’s ready to be tested.” Speaking about that made Wimon grit her teeth tightly. “He’s improved beyond what a normal human can do now. If he was one, his neck would have been broken and killed him after getting kicked like that. But he barely got injured, just a knock on his head that made him pass out.”

“Yes, I’m aware.”

The one on the other end of the phone said briefly, causing silence between them after that. Wimon did not know what else to say, while it seemed like the other was being uncomfortable about this situation.

“In that case, I’d like to have confirmation through your words again, Miss Viola.”

The other one asked calmly. Wimon took a deep breath, before closing her eyes. Her other hand was holding the framed photo up and placing it on her chest like her mind was wandering about something else...

After a while, she curled up a slight smile.

“I approve,” Wimon replied with a shaking voice. “But with a condition that you have to help and support him as much as possible. I am aware that what he must face from now on will be dangerous to his life, but you have to promise me that. You’ll protect him with all you have because he’s one of your bloodlines as well.”

There was silence for a moment. The one on the other side did not have a hint of hesitation, she was just put under the pressure of the care that Wimon had toward her son,

“I can’t promise you that he’ll be safe. But I promise you that I’ll help and support him with anything I have.”

Hearing that, Wimon nodded slightly, before saying one last thing on the phone.

“That’s already enough. Please take care of my son for me from now on.”
