Chapter 343: The Night Before War Part III
Chapter 343: The Night Before War Part III
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Suddenly, there was a knocking sound on his room door, making Wisana pause.
The tall man pushed himself up as he glanced at the door from afar, feeling curious about who would have come to his door during a rest time like this. Because if this were Tunwa coming back, he would have used his keycard to get in already.
So, who the hell came when he was about to take a nap?
“Yes?”
After that, the tall man got out of bed, before walking to the door. He pressed the button by the door softly before the door became transparent and let him see the person who was outside the room clearly.
And when he saw the visitor, even Wisana raised his eyebrows. He never thought that this woman would be the one who visited him at his room like this, the woman who had black hair, those lavender-colored eyes, and a lively smile.
“Valentine?” Wisana spoke to himself.
And it seemed like the one on the other side could not see that he was there looking at her from this one-sided transparent door because she was adjusting her hair and her clothes a little shyly.
Seeing that, he could not help but feel amused.
“The four gods are humans, too, I guess. That’s why she can act like that as well.”
He smiled amusedly, before switching the door’s lock off and swinging it open slowly with a sweet smile that he always had when he switched to Vincent.
“Can I help you, Miss Valentine?”
The black-haired woman did not say anything. She just replied to him with a smile.
“Yes, there are so many things you can do to help.” She nodded. “First, it’s about our younger siblings.”
“Our younger siblings?”
----------------
The night had fallen on this busy day. Above the clouds, the moon was shining brilliantly, surrounded by many groups of stars in the black sky, looking like a painting by one of the most skilled artists in the world.
At the center of the enormous airship of the GMs’ that was flying to Tristan Capital, there was a large hall with a glass ceiling that could be seen through to the view of the stars above, which was the place being used to host a fancy evening party right now.
Many dinner tables were set with fine meals. The ceiling above them was decorated with colorful magic crystals like some beautiful chandeliers. There was a classical band playing a beautiful song in another corner of the hall. The guests were gathering inside in their pretty dresses.
This did not look like a party before the war started at all.
And one moment later, the large door of the hall swung open again.
“Mister Vincent and followers have arrived at the party.”
A voice shouted in front of the door, followed by the sound of a small bell that was ringing as it was waved around, making every eye in the hall turn to look at the newcomers who were walking inside with sour faces.
“Do I find myself in an old-time English party or something? There’s a name announcing like we’re nobles, too.”
“Come on. Don’t mind that.”
The man who was walking in the front turned to whisper to the girl next to him. And the girl sent him a look like a warning for him to hide his feelings a bit.
And right at that moment, the chattering sound in the party was quiet down, leaving only the music playing in a corner of the hall. Every eye was looking at the newcomers altogether. Especially the girls, some of them were giggling, and some could not hide how enchanted they felt, and it was obvious on their faces.
Wisana was dressed in a good-looking tuxedo. His black shiny hair which was usually messy was now many times more well-kept and neater. He seemed like he was used to being the center of attention at a party and dressing up like this as well. So, he was walking in the party hall with elegant manners, totally different from the others who were walking behind him.
Nuchjaree who was in a blue one-piece dress looked awkward walking in high heels that she once swore that she would never wear for the rest of her life.
As well as Tunwa, he seemed to have a problem with his necktie quite a lot. And when he was about to pull it off to end the annoyance, Maysa would turn to gaze at him intensely, so he had to grudgingly keep it on.
“You seem used to this kind of thing, Na, walking with your chin up like that.”
Tunwa nagged once they got inside the party.
“My parents used to drag me along to this kind of social event a lot when I was a kid. So, yeah, I do.” Wisana replied.
“How about you May? You seem used to wearing this kind of dress as well.” Nuchjaree asked, too.
“I often attend this kind of event with my dad as well since he works as a diplomat.”
Hearing that, the two rivals glanced at each other’s eyes, thinking, ‘Yeah, my family’s social background is average! My parents don’t take me out to social events as a hobby.’
“You two should try getting used to it though. There will be another party after the war season ends as well.”
Another voice rang up lively from behind them.
The speaker was a slender girl in a pink and white evening dress. There was a thin silk shawl put around her shoulders, making her look beautiful like an angel. In other words, she was born to wear this kind of clothes truly!
And when the girl walked inside the hall, she looked even more glowing with the lights from the crystals in the room shining on her.
“Look at that woman. She’s so gorgeous.”
“She’s Waree, the vice leader of the Nemesis guild, isn’t she?”
“Yeah, that one. As expected of Vincent’s sister, if I didn’t know before that these two were normal players, I’d have thought that they were some NPC that the game created, even. Like, how could they look so good?”
Some chattering noise started coming to Wisana’s ears, making him shake his head slightly. At first, he thought that Waree might not be attending the party at all. But after he saw her smiling sweetly as she walked to them like this, the brother now felt relieved.
“What? Where’s Orn?” Waree asked right after she joined the gang.
“She said that she had business to talk with her unit. So, she’s probably having a meeting through the guild channel in her room right now.”
Nuchjaree answered smilingly. And Waree nodded in acknowledgment.
Meanwhile, Wisana walked to his sister and touched her head softly.
“You’re okay?” He asked with a smile.
Waree paused a little, but she could cover it up quickly before she gave her brother a smile.
“I am.”
Seeing that, Wisana was still for a few seconds before nodding in understanding. As her brother, he knew what Waree was thinking right now.
“Mister Vincent.”
Suddenly, there was a woman’s voice rang up. The speaker was a lady in a black dress, which let him know in the first glimpse that she was one of Thada’s staff.
“Yes?”
“I’d like to take you and your followers to the Nemesis guild’s seats, please.”
The staff said politely. Wisana raised his eyebrows.
“We have to sit on assigned seats even in a party as well?”
“Yes, you do. And please don’t waste your time and follow me this way.”
She replied briefly and started walking past them to be in the front. The guild members turned to look at each other and shrugged a little, before following that staff. Of course, the Nemesis guild was getting everyone else’s attention along the way.
Some of those people were dressed in more earnest clothes, unlike the attendees at the party. Moreover, each of them also had a tag hanging around their neck that read, “Visitor” as well. And seeing that, Maysa knew right away who those people were.
The journalists?
