Chapter 318: Dragon Bible Part I
Chapter 318: Dragon Bible Part I
“Congratulations on passing every condition of our quests with such a brilliant score like this, Mister Vincent.”
A delighted voice came with the sound of clapping a few times, followed by some confetti from party poppers that were pulling with a loud ‘bang!’ sound. People who were sitting in the room in the first place jumped by that, especially the little girl who was sleeping deeply. She got scared and helplessly opened her eyes.
Seeing his new daughter jump out of her sleep like that, the crazy father would never forget to stare at some annoying person in blaming him.
“You’re yelling for your dad, Lex?” He snapped in a harsh voice.
“I apologize. I didn’t know your girl was sleeping.”
Lex replied with a delighted voice, before walking into the living room in the dragon master office, while Thong Yip and Thong Yod were putting the used party poppers into a small bin around there.
“But she went back to sleep not long after opening her eyes to this world for the first time like this could be because her energy hasn’t yet been fully charged. I guess she might have some kind of immense strength in her as well. But since she’s got some characteristics from you, the one who hatched her, that’s not so surprising though.”
“Stop talking too much.” Wisana snapped. “You keep us waiting for a long time before you decide to show up. I was just thinking that if you hadn’t come in ten minutes, I’d have left and got back to my guild already. I’m kind of in a rush here.”
“I’m sorry for your inconvenience, but we don’t have the time to stick with you all day either, you know.”
Lex retorted with a smiley face, before taking a seat down on the couch across from Wisana, who paused and made a snorting sound out of his throat.
Such a big mouth the guy had there!
“Yeah, whatever. "He changed the topic. “Anyway, I’ve passed the quests of your class now, right?”
“Yes, you have.”
Lex smiled widely. “But let me state it again officially. Congratulations, Mister Vincent for completing every challenging task from our class so greatly like this. And as the head of the dragon master class, I’d like to name you as one of our people from now on.”
After that, Lex and the twins started clapping again. Wisana and Angie had to look into each other’s eyes, before turning their faces away to sigh.
“You totally memorized your speech script so well, Mister freaking Lex.” Wisana nagged.
“Well, yeah, it’s the class’s official congratulations speech.” He said and then grinned at him. “But I’m really happy for you. It’s been many years that no one has been able to complete our tough class quests. That’s why we’re overly impressed by your intelligence and skills.”
Getting complimented like this, instead of getting shy, Wisana felt awkward somehow.
So, the man pretended to look away as he spoke up in a soft, whispering voice.
“Where’s Mae Ui (1) anyway?”
“Mae Ui?” The listener raised his eyebrows. “Oh, you mean Texela, right?”
Wisana nodded and Lex immediately laughed.
“She’s caught up with something else right now. She’s been gone since you started sleeping. She also said that she would be right back just in time before you woke up, so in a minute...”
CREAK
“I’m here.”
Lex did not finish as the door swung open with a sweet voice speaking up, making every eye in the room turn to the newcomer right away. And then, those amber eyes of Wisana widened after he saw that there was a slim woman walking in the office’s living room right now.
Her round, big eyes were yellow gold. Her hair was silver and let down to her hip with a little curling, making her look beautiful like a goddess or some noble queen. Her gestures looked grand and she was in a long white dress that made her look pure instead of clumsy.
She stretched her lips into a smile. Her sharp eyes glanced at Wisana as soon as she walked in.
“It took you long enough, boy.” She said and gave Wisana a soft smile.
“Yes?”
And the one who had not yet made head or tail of it got even more awkward. And that was because he was positive that he had never seen a woman as beautiful as her before. She looked aged, but that made her look too elegant and powerful to be called old!
“Why are you giving me that look, hm?” she asked amusedly.
“Er, ...we’ve known each other before?”
After hearing that, the rest of the people who were sitting around there looked at each other before Lex burst out a loud laugh.
“I knew that you would be like this.” He said then walked up to Wisana, before slapping his shoulder harshly. “You really don’t recognize her? Even by that signature sweet voice, at least?”
“Voice?” The confused one raised his eyebrows.
Wisana then turned to look at the beautiful lady again. And when he saw her smile at him, he even had to blush for the second time. Her voice already sounded familiar to him, but it was just a little bit hard to believe.
The auntie’s human form...
Could be this beautiful?!!
“Er, ...Texela?”
He guessed with a blushing face, and he was even avoiding her eyes, too. The female dragon in a human form started giggling, and that made her look many times more adorable!
“What’s the matter, boy? Why are you suddenly behaving? Seeing you like this is really strange to my eyes, you know.” she said, holding her hand up to stroke his hand gently. “Well, you’re kind of cute this way though.”
“...Shut up.”
Wisana said with a soft voice, turning his face away. Texela smiled widely, before taking a seat next to Lex. And then the Thong Yip and Thong Yod twins hastily brought a tea set out on the table.
“How long have you been up? I thought you would take longer than this, tomorrow even.”
She said, before laughing amusedly.
“He could have been waking up tomorrow if he were someone else.” Lex turned to Wisana and Angie, making them look at him as he said. “But like I told you, this man is not ordinary. Even though it was a Sarquros’ egg, he spent just a few hours to hatch it, when normally it takes a lot longer to do that.”
Lex spoke with a smile as Thong Yod started placing the teacups on the table.
“A dragon’s strength has an effect on a hatchling’s difficulty?”
Angie was the one who asked out of curiosity.
And with that question, Texela turned to smile at her sweetly in reply.
“Yes, it does.” She spoke. “The rarer and the stronger race a dragon is from, the longer it will take to be hatched. I don’t have to tell you how long it will normally take in case of a Sarquros’ egg, right?”
“But he only took a few hours.”
Lex still confirmed that he really admired Wisana’s ability, but that only made the one who got complimented a lot look away like he was sick of the other guy.
“And that’s my granddaughter, right?”
A second later, Texela spoke with the sweetest voice, while she was looking at a little girl who was sleeping soundly on Wisana’s chest right now.
“Huh, oh, yeah.”
Wisana nodded confusedly, before looking down at the girl sleeping on his chest.
“May I have a look at her closely?” Texela asked.
“Yes, ma’am. Here you go.”
Then he was going to carry the girl to Texela, but she held her hand up to stop him first.
“Don’t bother. She’d wake up and start throwing a tantrum, I’m afraid. I’ll handle that.”
