Chapter 314: Dragon’s Blood Ceremony (2) Part II
Chapter 314: Dragon’s Blood Ceremony (2) Part II
“Right, without any scratch. Do you know that all these years, no one’s ever challenged my daughter and walked out of it so carefreely like you before, most of them got the worst curse that took them weeks to get dispelled but look at you.”
She was not just talking but looking around Wisana, too. And there was not a scratch anywhere. It was almost unbelievable that this guy had just fought with the 8th-ranked boss of the game.
“Oh, so, the egg’s mother is Au ...Sister’s daughter?” Wisana asked.
“Huh? Uh... yeah, she’s my oldest.” Texela replied confusedly.
“Nice.” Wisana frowned his eyebrows, pointing his finger at the white dragon right away. “Next time, you better teach your daughter to behave. Also, tell her to not be that savage to the one she just met for the first time. Without saying, she just went on a killing spree. She got me all exhausted before I could get her to obey.”
“Get her to obey...?” Texela raised her eyebrows. “Did you kill my daughter?”
“Who would be able to do that?” Wisana retorted right away. “She’s so brutally savage like that with the speed and attack points. The beam that she shoots is like a little nuclear bomb. How would I ever defeat her by myself? I only used a confinement spell to hold her down for a while. It’s probably become ineffective by now, too. ...I’m not surprised though. Like mother, like daughter.”
He turned his volume down at the last sentence on purpose to not let the white dragon hear it. But the dragon’s hearing sense was so good. She could even hear a needle dropping clearly. She just did not mind him, because the words, “a confinement to hold her down” made her feel all dumbfounded.
The one who could fight a monster neck and neck without getting bothered by the level difference like this...
This guy was the first one she knew.
Normally, even though there were those stats potions to help players, the level difference was still the tall wall that could not be climbed over that easily. And, pardon, the monster this guy just fought was a dragon, and it was the 8th strongest boss of the game even.
Thinking about that, her lips were curling up like a smile.
This boy was interesting.
“Anyway, it made you pass the quest now, boy.” She included. “And from now on, the ones who proceed you through the final quest will be Lexiera and me.”
After speaking, she turned to look at Lex, the man with glasses who was holding his palm out respectfully as an invitation, as if to say, “He’s all yours. Torture him any way you like.”
THUD!!
A second after that, the cheeky one was let down with his butt crashing right on the ground.
“Ouch! Aunty! I’m not a freaking stuffed doll, okay? Could you be gentler with me? Throwing me around like this could give me bruises, too, you know?!”
“Well, you should have learned about that already, boy.” The white dragon laughed.
“The hell am I supposed to learn?”
He did not continue yelling more, because the big, black egg floated back to his hands again.
“Quit talking too much already,” Texela said with her voice changing. “You still have one quest left to complete, boy. And whether you pass or not depends on my decision as well. So, think carefully before you speak.”
She spoke, then tilted her head to the side like she was daring him.
And the one who got forestalled in the face like that stayed still, grinding his teeth out of indignation.
“Y ...yes, I understood.” He replied grudgingly.
“Good!”
The white dragon yelled delightfully, before tilting her chin up.
“Now, listen to the details carefully. The quest you’re about to do is called the Dragon’s Blood ceremony. Remember, this quest is very delicate. If you make a slight mistake, you can be counted as a failure right away.”
Hearing that, Wisana swallowed his saliva, before looking the white dragon in the eyes.
“What do I have to do?” he asked in a shaking voice.
“It can be hard. And it can be easy if you put enough effort into it. If you do that, you will complete the quest easily.”
“And that is?” Wisana asked like he was dying to get them to the point.
“Hatch that egg.”
The listener was quiet for five seconds straight before his brain started processing everything fast. He looked at the egg in his hands and looked up to catch Texela’s eyes again.
“Hatch the egg?”
Wisana raised his eyebrows. The doubt was obvious in his voice.
“How am I supposed to do that? Should I sit on it like a hen?” He said, then smiled delightedly.
“If it was that simple. I wouldn’t have requested you to go collect so many items like that, boy.”
It was like she had to let this cheeky joke pass grudgingly. Right now, she was tilting her head up, looking at Thong Yip and Thong Yod, who were standing behind Lex.
“My twins, please help me with that, will you?” She called out for them in a gentle voice.
“Yes, Mother.” The girls accepted in unison.
After that, the twins walked to Wisana who was hugging the black egg confusedly in front of Texela.
“While my daughters are preparing the item for you, listen to what I’m about to say, boy.” The white dragon said with a tender voice, making the man look up at her.
“What’s now, Aunty?” He asked.
The white dragon made a snorting sound in her throat, pretending to not hear this kid being rude and calling her Aunty again. Actually, she was kind of fond of that fearless attitude and how he adjusted to new people so quickly, showing that he had good social skills. Or it could be just that he was too crazy to be affected by the new surroundings, too.
“What I’m going to tell you is the most important thing of our dragon master class.” Texela started talking right into the topic for the first time. “As you see, we have many quests for the candidate to make sure that we surely have the right person to be one of us.”
She moved her face down to the cheeky one.
“And as you might already know, in the Pride world, the strongest monster race is the dragon, like us. So, the candidate must have every qualification in the top ranking including skills, intelligence, heart, dignity, and leadership. For a dragon warrior, those qualifications will be merged into one person. And I have to admit that you’re one of those as well.”
Hearing that, Wisana felt like his chest puffed out a bit. This was the first time that the aunty dragon complimented him honestly. Apart from this, it all sounded weirdly sarcastic.
“But don’t be too flattered, yet.” She continued like she knew what he was thinking. “Whether you will become a good dragon warrior or not doesn’t depend on your skills only. But it depends on the one that will be fighting alongside you and to be your glory warrior. That cannot be anyone else but the dragon that will make the promised bond with you.”
“Promised bond?” Wisana raised his eyebrows.
“That’s right.” The white dragon nodded. “As you know, the dragon warriors can’t be strong by themselves, but it’s the dragon in their command that determines the strength of the dragon warriors. For that reason, how well they can make their promised bond dragon skilled and get along with the master, is what makes the dragon warrior intimidatingly stronger.”
“So, it’s going to be like summoning a dragon to fight for us?” Wisana asked.
And hearing that, Texela shook her head slightly.
“Wrong. It’s not summoning the dragon to fight for you, but to fight side by side with you.”
