Chapter 260: Four Months Later Part II

Chapter 260: Four Months Later Part II

“Well, since the Vincent fever has been trending, the workload has increased as well.”

Maysa said in a gentle voice, before letting out a long sigh.

“That’s exactly what I’m bored of right now.”

“Come on, why did you say that, Boss?” Maysa grinned so brightly. “After the images of you taking down those item hunters and killing Lord Inferno for the second time got spread out, you’ve been viral over a night, so, right now, you’re like the good magnet that pulls other players to join our guild. Our trading has also been going so well. Ae’s been incredibly happy lately. So, if he heard what you just said, he’d probably get shocked to death for sure.”

Wisana did not say anything more, he was just looking below the cliff wearily.

What he saw down there were the remains of an enormous monster with tentacles that looked like an octopus, but its body was covered in green mucilage. It was a type of plant called Hydra, a middle-level boss in the game that was quite frightening as well.

Right now, that disgusting boss was being sliced into pieces by dozens of the players, since the players from chef class said that its meat was edible, Manoch said that Hydra’s tentacles could be sold to those alchemists to compound some potions, and inside the body was full of many types of crystals as well.

That was the reason why many Nemesis guild’s members had to become the butchers to dissect parts of this Hydra before its remains disappeared automatically in a half hour. And right now, Manoch and Tunwa were in charge of instructing the workers intensely.

“These guys are really energetic, and they just fought like hell a while ago.”

Wisana said in a bored, quiet voice, but it was loud enough for Maysa to hear. That was why she let out a soft giggle.

“They need to work harder for their boss who has sneaked out to hang out with me here.”

“Actually, I didn’t want to sneak out like this, but I have something to talk to you about.”

“With me?”

Maysa repeated, not looking at him as her hands kept on typing on the keyboard.

“Sure. What’s up? ...Uh, if it’s about the plan to hunt a swine dragon’s heart, I’ve completed that already. But we have to wait until next week because it has been raining a lot lately. If there’s just a single drop of rain coming down during the hunt, we’ll all be screwed for sure.”

“No, it’s not about that.”

Wisana cut her off in a tired voice, making Maysa raise her eyebrows as her eyes kept on looking at the information on the screen in front of her.

“Then what is it about? Say it.”

“Uh, well,” After getting pressured to talk, he suddenly got nervous somehow. “We’ve known each other for quite a while now, May.”

“Uh-huh, and?” The girl continued asking, not really minding that much.

“Er, it’s been months now. You don’t want to change anything at all?”

“Change?” Maysa repeated in a high-pitched voice. “Of course, we’ve changed, Boss. Our guild has a lot of members now, and our level of business connection is brilliant with the increasing income in the guild.”

“No, it’s not about that...”

The speaker started to feel like giving up because the way he talked was too open-ended and got him further and further from the real topic that he wanted to talk about.

“What is it, then?” Maysa asked the same question again.

“Well, like, it’s been months now, right? So, I want to be more serious about it. Well, I want to make it not ambiguous anymore. I hope that you understand...”

“I ...understood now.”

Maysa said in a bit softer voice that made Wisana grin so widely as he hurriedly turned to look at this pretty girl right away. Finally, they were on the same page now!

“Ae asked you to ask me for the approval of building our guild’s safe house again, huh? I told you guys to be more patient about this, didn’t I? We don’t know how many more of the players will join our guild. If we build it and it turns out that it’s not enough space for all of us, then we have to waste more money rebuilding it anyway, right?”

“Come on!”

The hopeless one like Wisana wished he could stick his head in the ground right now, while Maysa was glancing at the man and creasing her lips a little before she realized that she probably was still out of the topic.

“That still wasn’t the thing that you wanted to talk about?”

Maysa asked as her hands did not even stop working. Seeing that, Wisana slowly got up. He brushed the dirt off himself, letting out a weary sigh.

“Well, it doesn’t matter right now. Just keep working. I think I should be offline now. And you don’t get carried away by those works, okay?”

Then he gestured like he was really about to leave, making Maysa tie her eyebrows together as she stopped typing for the first time. Her light grey eyes looked after the man who was walking away before she grabbed his arm and then sighed.

“Okay, don’t be sulky now, sassy one. Say what you want to say, quick.”

“Nothing.” Wisana shrugged.

“Liar.” Maysa disagreed smilingly. “I’ve known you long enough to know that when you act like this, you are sulking. So, what’s the matter? Tell me.”

After hearing that, Wisana scratched his cheek.

“Uh, ...can we talk about this later? I’m really not in the mood anymore.”

“Come on. Don’t be so dramatic. What’s going on that you can’t speak it out like that?”

“Well...”

He looked away as the words did not come out of his mouth. And that made the girl feel annoyed a bit. ...This guy would not stop talking when she was working. But when she stopped working to listen to him properly, the other suddenly acted too awkward to speak like this...

“We’ve known each other for quite a while now, right?”

“Yes. You already said that.”

“Uh, ...and I want to...”

“Be more serious about it. ...You said this, too.”

It seemed like Maysa had covered all of Wisana’s way. All the sentences that he had scripted so he sounded romantic were now stuck in his throat. Why was talking suddenly difficult when he had the most important thing to say? And why was it so easy for him to talk all the nonsense out...?

Damn it, Wisana!!

“Let’s talk about this later, May. I’m so tired. My head could not think straight right now.”

“What? Wait.”

He looked like he was going to walk away, so Maysa grabbed his arm tighter.

“What’s up with you? I’m getting serious now,” she said, squeezing his arm tightly. “I told you that being scared wouldn’t get you anywhere, didn’t I? Just say what you want to say, so I can understand you.”

Hearing that, the man was stunned right away...

Her words always influenced his mind. He was not sure since when the rhythm in his life had changed. He had fun every time he was with her. He also felt careless, like he was the safest if she was around. He trusted her, and she trusted him.

So, what else could he ever need more?

A moment later, the man finally made a move. He turned back to her, looking at her with a smile on his face. Maysa raised her eyebrows confusedly, but she started smiling with him anyway.

“Now, you’re talking, huh?”

“Yeah, I’m talking.” Then he grinned delightedly.

“Alright, say what you want to say, big brother. You little sis is ready to listen to everything.”

Wisana did not say it right away. He let out a soft sigh, before holding her hands gently. Those amber eyes looked softer. He was staring right into her eyes. ...Then, she could figure out right away what the context that the other had been implying to her.

Right now, her fair face had turned vividly red.

“Y ...you’re going to...”

“I don’t want to make it ambiguous anymore. So, let’s become official. May. I love you.”
