Chapter 249: Nemesis Part I

“Hello everyone, You’re with me, Kannika, reporter of Pride Station Channel One.”

The melodious voice rang, started reporting the situation with a panicked look on her face. The field reporter was now working on a helicopter. Her brown hair was blowing in the wind, showing that she was flying quite high up from the ground.

“Now, we’re in Dores town, in the northern part of the Pride. We got a report about the incident in this town today during the Hunting Gate event that there were some agitators invading the data server system and creating a district seal to process the town. It’s reported later that the cause of this incident is done by the 5 item hunters who GMs have been trying to capture for so long.”

She said, then moved away from the camera a little to show Dores town from the bird’s eye view. And right now, the town was in the worst condition. Many areas were racked and ruined by many intense fights, especially the southern part of the town which seemed to be the most damaged area.

“Currently, the staff and GMs have got everything back in order by hacking the system from the item hunters again before they can get the town back. And those five item hunters who are suspected of causing this chaos are now arrested with the cooperation of Vincent, or Mister Wisana, the one who takes the item hunters down. ...So, the situation right now is under control. And we haven’t yet got a report about any injuries...”

GROOOWL!!!!

Kannika, the reporter, did not finish her sentence when she trembled hard, because there was a loud growl coming from the town below. She raised her eyebrows at the camera, while the cameraman who was recording a wide shot of the town, was gasping, before pointing behind the report instantly.

“Kan, Kan, behind you. ...Pilot, get us up higher, quick!”

The cameraman spoke almost too fast to be heard in a proper language as Kannika glanced back behind her. And that was all for her to gasp in shock. She hurriedly turned back to the camera, while her reporter’s passion was running wild that it was obvious on her gorgeous face!

“Something is happening, everyone, something unexpected.” She shouted, hurriedly pulling the cameraman to get a shot of what was occurring inside the town barely in time. “After the staff can take Dores town back, and the barrier starts fading away, there’s something appearing instead.”

GROOOWL!!!!

Right after that, the thing that the reporter just mentioned screamed out a loud growl, causing a strong vibration through the vehicle. Even though it was flying high above the ground, it still got hit by the impact of the growl.

Right now, the nightmare had come out for the second time. It was an enormous monster with an 18-meter-tall body. Its skin was deep brown with massive arms and long sharp claws. Its face was long, looking like a dragon’s. And its eyes were blazing like flames.

“I ...it’s ...Lord Inferno!!”

“Lord Inferno? In a situation like this?!”

The panicked shout came out of a gorgeous girl named Waree. She was widening her eyes at this 18-meter-tall monster that suddenly blasted the ground up and crawled out of there, just like that.

“They put the virus under the town, huh? Such a pain in the ass.” That was Rattana speaking up with an unwell face. “It’s activated right away after we take the system back. They have really planned this through!”

“Anne!”

Waree yelled at the top of her lungs, making Rattana flinch. After that, the image they were seeing before their widened eyes was the bright red flame that was blazing in the wide mouth of Lord Inferno, a sign of a disaster that was about to happen in the next second.

“Damn it. Nam, get your shield out. Quick!”

Rattana shouted resoundingly, whipping her hand to put a medium-scale defense up fast. Meanwhile, Waree hurriedly rushed in front of Shin and Tryne as she cast the same defensive spell as Rattana!

Hell Blaze!

Within a blink, the fire-red aura had swirled together in the monster’s mouth, before it was shot out in a missive beam that had a diameter longer than 8 meters.

BOOM!!!

The explosion shook through the whole ground with an enormous size of flame spreading out in a large area, destroying a part of Dores easily like letting out a sigh. The remains of this disaster were blowing off scatteringly.

At the same time, two women were putting up light shields to protect themselves and the other two men who needed to keep themselves down as low as possible.

“W ...what the hell is this? Nuclear bomb?!” Tryne shouted.

Meanwhile, Shin clenched his teeth tightly, glancing at Waree who was holding the shield to protect them. Her face did not look well, and a good proof was how she pressed her lips together tightly into a thin line!

After the explosion had settled down, a large cloud of smoke was spreading up in the sky. The black cloud that was a sign of the recent chaos made the four who started to regain their senses blink at it as they gasped. Then, Rattana was the first who took her eyes off the smoke and the fire, blinking.

“This is insane. With just one attack?” Rattana spoke, before clenching her jaws, while Waree was holding up a hand to cover her mouth in shock.

“It’s blown half of the town away.”

Her words made it hard for Shin and Tryne to swallow. A part of Dores was destroyed in the blink of an eye with only one attack from the king of the fire monster, Lord Inferno.

GROOOWL!!!!

The fire monster growled out loudly, so everyone had to cover up their ears. And a second later, Lord Inferno glanced its firing eyes at the four quickly, as if it had just sensed that there were some creatures standing here.

“Let’s hide!” Shin was the fastest one who could get himself together. He managed to drag Waree and Tryne inside a large building around there, just in time before the fire monster could see them.

“So, this is Lord Inferno, huh? Why is it so brutal like this?!” Tryne spoke out aloud.

“No, that is not.” Rattana corrected him. “Normally, Lord Inferno isn’t this strong. This one’s made from a virus program, so its abilities are all messed up. No doubt that this Lord Inferno’s been upgraded to the highest level now. It could possibly be on level 220 even.”

“220?! That’s even higher than Thada’s level.”

Hearing that, everyone was back to being speechless again. And Shin was the only one who kept checking on Lord Inferno that seemed like it was looking for a victim to bring its violence upon.

“Is there any way we can fix this, Anne?” Waree asked.

“I don’t know either.” Rattana tied her eyebrows together tightly. “We don’t know what kind of the virus is, nor how long it’s been buried there, so I can’t be sure how to fix this. But I think that we should just kill this Lord Inferno, so the virus will be eliminated with it as well.”

“Kill it?!” Tryne shouted in panic. “Lady, can’t you see that it’s just blown half of the town away with just one attack? And you told us that we should kill that thing?”

“I just wanted to say that killing it was the surest and fastest way to handle this. Because if we shut the server down to eliminate the virus, we don’t know how badly it could destroy our data while we’re fixing it. Can you assure me that it couldn’t?!”

“Oh, God! ...so, you’ve decided to fight, Miss GM? How are you so confident that you’d win? But whatever, if you want to fight, fine. But don’t drag me in this with you, too.”

PROOF!

He had not even finished his sentence when he disappeared before everyone’s eyes. Shin and Waree paused, glancing at Rattana, who was pressing her lips together like she was trying to keep her emotions calm.

“No one is going to ask a coward like that to fight anyway.”

Hearing that, Waree and Shin looked each other in the eyes...

It was obvious that GM was in quite a hot temper, and Tryne’s words pushed her mood up even more. So, it was not surprising that he got teleported out to somewhere so coldly like this.

But when Waree saw that, she raised her brows instantly.

“Anne, didn’t you just use the GM’s skill?”

Waree pointed out, making the older one pause.

“Right. Yeah, I did,”

“So, it means that the Jammer Effect’s probably gone now, right?”
