Chapter 239: Strike Back! Part I

Chapter 239: Strike Back! Part I

“Guys, hurry up and gather over here!”

“Shin, behind you!”

“Damn it!”

BOOM!!

“Hey, does anyone have any HP potion? There’s someone dying here.”

“I got some...”

“Back line, please hold a little longer. We almost made it to the center of the town now!”

A lot of hollering and bawling came along with the disaster that was about to go out of control. Many of the competitors in the Hunting Gate event had to work together because the situation forced them to, and they had to make it to the center of the town...

Because if they did, the chance that they survived would be higher. at least there should be GMs and Pride’s staff to help them over there.

“Tryne, a swine dragon behind you!”

“So annoying!”

CRASH!!

Two aces of the competition like Shin and Tryne were fighting as an enemy resistance team right now. They also had to work together to buy some chance for the rest of the competitors and injured people to survive and get to the GMs’ hands.

The tall man, the owner of the green grass hairstyle, just used the chain on the tip of his blade to slash a 4-meter air dragon’s throat and dragged it down to the ground with all his strength!

“Shin!”

“Yeah, yeah, I know.”

Gravitation Spear!

682,024!!

As fast as he thought, the other tall man leaped up in the air, before launching the spear at the middle of the green air dragon’s torso, making it screech out loudly and die the next second.

“This is bad,” Tryne spoke with a tense face after Shin was back to the ground. “The enemies keep coming nonstop, and they all are high level. Even though there’s you and me here, the number of injured players is still increasing and that will doom us, too. Also, we’ve given all our HP potions to the others already.”

“What are we supposed to do then? Just let them die?”

“That’s not what I’m saying!”

Tryne drawled wearily as the prudent one pulled his spear out of the dragon. He glanced at other players who were going closer to the center of the town now.

“Anyway, if those GMs don’t fix this soon, the Jammer Effect will screw us after we die for sure.”

“If you’re to die, die by yourself, Tryne. I’m not dying with you.”

“I was just saying, this jerk.”

The green-grass-haired man snorted in his throat like he was annoyed by these plain words from the Zero-Celsius price somehow!

After that, Shin glanced toward somewhere far away from this place, the southern side of Dores. ...And then, a trace of worry appeared on the face that rarely showed any emotion for the first time. Maybe that was because around ten minutes ago, there was a large dazzling light from an explosion happening there.

Moreover, if there were not the district magic being set up around there in the first place, the explosion would have blown the entire town away by now. He did not know why this happened, or why there was this hell district surrounding the town, and there were so many high-level monsters going wild in the town that he, Tryne, and other players had to team up and resist them.

But something for sure, he had the feeling that this situation had something to do with that guy somehow. So, maybe some item hunters did this because he could not think of anyone who would disrupt the event of the year so blatantly like this if it was not this group of people.

“Shin! ...Here they come again!”

After that, Tryne’s shout brought him back to the present again. Then those lavender-colored eyes glanced forward, and his well-shaped lips spread up without a smile right away.

“This isn’t funny anymore,” Shin spoke in a soft voice.

“God damn! They even put this kind of thing in here, too?!”

And then, the two men held their weapons up in a ready-to-fight position. However, Shin felt nervous in his guts somehow. Why? Because in front of him, there was a large group of savage monsters coming out, and they were the kind that did not get along so well with Shin that much.

This kind of monster was half goat and half lion. It had three tails with a snake head at the tip of each one. And it had the elements up to three types, Chimera!

Moreover, it had come in a large pack with at least 10 members!

“This is going to be hard work,” Tryne said in a shaking voice.

“You’re scared?” Shin asked without looking, making the other pause.

“Tch, such a rude mouth you got there, Shin. Who do you think I am?”

“If you’re not, just forget I said that then,” Shin replied plainly. “And for the record, you need to make your own getaway out of this, okay?”

“Huh, you, too! Don’t piss your pants off and cry for your sister later. Because for the record, I’m not going to have the time to take care of anyone either.”

Even though their words were obviously full of mockery, they both knew that the other did not have any intention like what they said at all. Because they knew that the real meaning was to run and save themselves without worrying about the other if one of them lost to this huge mob of enemies so that they did not go down together.

A second after that, these tall men tightened their grips around the weapons in their hands firmly, before rushing straight toward the enemies instantly!!

----------------

“I got it!”

A small voice rang excitedly, even though her face was emotionless just like usual. Angie looked at Thada who was standing next to her. And the man smiled, satisfied, before leaning closer to her.

“How’s it going, Angie?” He asked.

“I’ve hacked into the system, and I can make a spot of the district stop working for about 20 seconds.”

Hearing that, Thada grinned widely, before leaning down to hug the little girl happily.

“That’s already brilliant, Angie.”

“But I’m not sure if I could take all the systems back. Maybe it’ll get easier if I do it from the inside of the district.”

“Got it.” Thada smiled broader as he let go of Angie.

A moment later, he glanced at Maysa and friends who were standing in the back, while they were all staring at him already. Seeing that, Thada let out a sigh. He could guess from their eyes that they wanted to follow him inside as well. Especially Maysa, she was gazing at him in a way that could imply that “Your brain would definitely get blown off if you’re not taking me in there with you.”

“Even if I say no, you guys will still insist on going with me, right?”

Hearing Thada’s question, Maysa grinned widely right away.

"You know us well,” Maysa said in a clear voice.

“But there’s a condition.” Thada cut in with a serious tone. “I can only take 4 people with me. Because I’m not sure if I can teleport more people than this without causing any problems or not.”

Everyone looked at each other instantly without saying a word before Maysa was the first to volunteer.

“One of the four people who are going in has to be me.”

She shouted, and nobody disagreed. Well, of course, since she sent a deadly gaze to each one of them like this.

“I’m going as well.” Waree was the next one to hurriedly volunteer. “I don’t know what the situation down there is like, but as a healer player, I think I should be there to help protect everyone.”

No one disagreed with her words either. After that, the little one quickly yelled from behind Thada’s back as well.

“Me too. I have to hack the firewall from the inside anyway.”

Angie already had a job to finish. And that made only one ticket to the district left, but there were so many of them. So, everyone was looking back and forth at each other, not sure who would be the last one to join them inside there.

And then, Manoch was the one who let out a long sigh, before stepping up forward.

“Let me go with you, too.”
