Chapter 234: The Awakened Emperor Part V

Chapter 234: The Awakened Emperor Part V

“Then I’m going to tell you something that might help you decide. About you running around, about the fact that no one would be able to follow you to the crystal, and about blocking anyone else out of the inner district seal, we have planned it all. So, right now, it’s like you’re dancing on our hand. ...Your life depends on us.”

Those words made the amber eyes glance around cautiously. His lips which were gasping for air exhaustedly now pressed together tightly into a straight line, and the panting started fading away.

“If I give you the items, what will happen next? How can I be sure that you will really leave me alone? I’ve seen your faces now, I might give the information about how you look to the GMs, you know.”

He tried to probe. And Black curled up a smile at how cautious the younger one was.

“I promise that we won’t touch you,” Black replied. “And we can change our looks to be like anyone, those GMs will never catch us. So, you can tell them what we look like all you want.”

“Can I ask you something, then?” Wisana spoke.

“Ask? Sure. I’ll answer if I know.”

Hearing that, those amber eyes gazed at Black right away.

“Have you ever felt pathetic for yourselves for doing this? Scumbags.”

Those words spoken in a harsh stiff voice made everyone stunned instantly. Red looked like he was about to say something, but Black, who was the boss, stopped him by grabbing his shoulder. He sneered widely.

“What are you expecting me to say, kid? I should say that I feel guilty every time that I go on a hunt?” Then he made a snorting sound out of his throat. “I really can’t help it. We need to eat, too, you know. It’s good to have money nowadays. And this kind of business can make a huge amount of money for us.”

“By stealing from people?”

“Why are you so serious, kid?” Black sneered. “It’s just a game. Stealing in a game doesn’t kill anyone. And soon you will get your items back as you continue playing anyway. It’s not like I murder anyone. I just work for a living.”

“Just a game?” Wisana raised his eyebrows. “Yeah, you’re right. It’s just a game. But even just in a game, you can be such a scumbag like this, I don’t think you’re any different in real life. You’re saying that you do this just for a living, but I think it’s just your true nature, ...you filthy swine!”

BOOM!!

The sound of the ground getting crushed in pieces by a foot resounded as the aged face of Black started looking furious immediately.

“The talking time is up now, kid,” he said. “I’m not going to listen to your babbling anymore. So, what’s your answer? Would you willingly give the items to us, or die like a dog, ...say it!”

----------------

There was complete silence all over the Light Ring like everyone had lost all the words to speak...

With the image they saw and the sound they heard, the conversation between Wisana and those item hunters was heard and seen by thousands of audiences. Many of them started talking, surprised about Vincent and Wisana’s real identity. That was shocking. But it could not be compared to the fact that Vincent was being ganged up on and stolen items by the hunters.

Right now, even Thada who was in the front roll of Light Ring clenched his fists tightly as he was watching the situation in front of him with a little frustration...

“Even Thada can’t do anything, I don’t think that Vincent could fight them.”

“Right. Those item hunters can beat Vincent down that badly? This is like Pride’s disaster now.”

“Damn it! GMs have to do something!”

“No, my Vincent...”

The chattering complaint started coming from behind him, making the rust-colored eyes glance back for a second, and then they moved back on Vincent again.

Damn it! He completely made a mistake because of his carelessness!

He never expected that the item hunters would dare to do this during the Hunting Gate event where it had hundreds of staff, including GMs around like this. and their plan was so clever that he could not do anything...

Crap! So, he was just going to watch and do nothing here, Thada? What a useless GM!

“Thada!”

Then, there was a voice of a girl coming from behind Thada, making the tall man turn around and see a girl with long black hair and a cute face who was in extreme panic right now.

“Miss Maysa?”

He said her name softly, while many of the audience were pointing at Maysa who was walking down with her friends like they were meeting another celebrity. And that was a good confirmation that the man on the screen was really Vincent. Because if he was not, Maysa would never look so anxious like this.

“What is going on? Do something. You’re a GM, aren’t you?!”

After she could get to him, Maysa snapped at Thada’s face, making him turn away.

“I’m sorry.” He spoke. “You already heard the item hunters. That’s the high-ranked barrier that even I can’t break the seal or hack in, except they’re the ones who cancel it out.”

“Then do something!”

She said with a frustrated face, refusing to listen to Thada’s reasons. Maybe the image in front of her made her heart drop, and the worry was making her go crazy!

“Relax, May. Da’s probably trying his best to fix this right now.”

Waree walked in to grab her friend by the shoulder, even though she still did not look so well.

“You don’t look okay, Nam,” Thada stated.

“I am. How’s the firewall doing?” Waree asked back.

“Bad. ...It got all messed up. Dysfunctional and useless. If I were in the barrier, I would have been able to do something. But I’m outside like this, I have no idea.”

Then he let out a long sigh. And that was all to make Waree look up and see her brother look worse in the fight than usual. Seeing that, she pressed her lips together tightly, before catching eyes with Angie who was standing beside her, looking like they were talking to each other silently. And then, the little one nodded in agreement.

“What if you let Angie help?” Waree asked.

The listener paused, looking down at Angie who was clinging to Waree’s arm.

“That’s right, Angie!” He shouted. “If it’s you, then we might be able to fix this.”

Angie was speechless because every eye was looking at her at the same time, especially Thada who was walking toward the little mage before holding a hand to her.

“I don’t mind helping, but are you really sure about this, Mister Thada?” Angie asked.

“I don’t think I have a choice. We don’t know what else could happen if we let this go on any longer. So, it’s better than just sitting here and waiting.”

“But if I hack the system, Pride’s data in Thailand could be dysfunctional for months. So, are you really sure?”

Angie asked, looking up at Thada’s hand that was held out. Even after he heard that, the man still nodded at her with a wry smile that said he had no other choice now...

“What are you thinking of having Angie do?” Maysa turned to ask confusedly.

“Don’t worry, May,” Waree said. “He’s asking Angie to help him hack the system back. He allows her to put some virus in there to destroy Pride’s database and this barrier, so we can take the area back.”

“Hack the system back? You can do that with Angie?!”

It was not just Maysa, but the party were all gasping as they raised their eyebrows. They had already heard about Angie being a genius and all, but who would have thought that this little girl was capable of this kind of thing as well?

“It’s okay, May,” Angie said in a drawling voice. “Hacking is what I do in the outside world anyway. I’ve done it with terrorists and some foreign government databases already. So, a crappy system like this isn’t too difficult for me.”

Hearing her say that, the party was even more stunned.

One moment later, she held Tada’s hand like she was taking something from him. Then, without wasting a second, Angie flicked her small hand once and a large number of information windows popped up in front of her. They were the same windows that Tada had called out earlier.

Angie hurriedly typed something on her illuminated keyboards below multiple information windows fluently. And working on three windows and three keyboards at the same time did not seem to be difficult for her just like she said.

Right now, how skillful the little hacker was made the adults here widen their eyes out of shock, while Thada and Waree were glancing at each other wearily.

“Angie is the one we can count on now. Thank you, too, Nam. Glad you’re here.” Thada smiled wryly.

“No problem. It’s my duty anyway.” Waree replied smilingly.

“Alright! What’s your answer, Vincent?!”
