Chapter 220: Hunters Assemble Part IV

Chapter 220: Hunters Assemble Part IV

“I’ve been banned.”

Hearing that, Shin curled his lips up to look like a smile instantly.

“By your brilliant chief of staff again?”

“Well, ...she said she didn’t want me to draw too much attention. Also, I’ve been targeted by the item hunters now, so she wouldn’t let me wear the mask and the coat just like you see.”

“Including the Element as well?”

“I’m the only one who owns the Element, right? And this event is on live broadcast, there’re probably cameras everywhere. So, I don’t think I’ll be able to hide from them anyway.”

“That makes sense.”

Shin spoke up with a plain expression. And Wisana only forced a smile in response.

“You seem to obey, ...no, let’s just call it trust, you trust your chief of staff so well. No matter what she tells you, you will be ready to give 100 percent trust in her.”

Hearing that, Wisana grinned right away.

“That’s because she’s never let anyone take advantage of me at all. And I’m going to keep trusting in her, as long as she’s on my side like this.”

The listener moved his lips to look like a smile, amused by thinking about the many times that this guy got jealous of Maysa without him even realizing it. But in any case, he thought that Wisana should trust himself and figure out how to explain to her about that ‘kissing,’ too.

“Anyway, you’re really like a time bomb that is ready to explode at any moment. Your abilities are sealed with many conditions. So, I’m curious what it’ll be like if you can burst your energy out freely.”

He said, before his lavender eyes moved up to look directly at Wisana, making the one who was stared at pause as he gazed back at him. Shin’s lips stretched out to be a cunning smile right away. His words seemed like they were purely out of his curiosity, but his voice and tone were full of challenge so Wisana could sense it instantly.

This guy was actually like him, one of those who was obsessed with fighting!

“I’m curious what it’ll be like if the number one hunter in the game gives everything he got like when he fought Ouroboros in this event.”

“Well, ...how curious are you?” Shin asked challengingly.

“Pretty much. Anyway, it’s just a thought though, just thinking.” Then Wisana smiled cunningly. “Between the Element and the Four Seasons, what will happen, if they’re against each other?”

“There will probably be a big mess.”

Shin said, then stood up straight, before glancing at Wisana from the corner of his eyes again.

“Yeah, there will be, but it can also be something fun, don’t you think so?”

The listener chuckled softly, before turning his face away.

“It’s such a shame that players can’t attack each other in the event.”

“Right, ...a real shame.”

Then the cheeky one spread out his smile before there was a warm breath exhaling out wearily right away. After that, he decided to get up as well, before looking at other players who started getting up as well.

At the same time, Rattana walked back to the center of the town with GM June tailing behind her with a cheerful smile. And that was the sign for the players to stand up and walk to her in unison. ...As well as Shin who glanced at Wisana to signal him to go join the others.

And at that second...

The blink that he was about to step forward, Wisana’s body flinched. His brain had a stinging pain before something told him that, ...someone else was staring at him!

“What’s this?!” Wisana pressed his temples, while his eyes were looking around the place.

There was a disgusting feeling that made him want to throw up. His brain felt like being squeezed up, making his entire body numb. With all these symptoms, Wisana had to stand still, glancing around in panic. Then he looked up to the top of the buildings around there, and he found no one there, even though he was sure that someone was staring at him from there just now.

“...What’s wrong?”

Shin placed a hand on his shoulder softly, making his tall body jump so hard that it scared Shin as well.

“Sorry, I just...” Then he paused. “Nothing. Just don’t mind me.”

Wisana said and looked up with a wry smile. Shin only knitted his eyebrows at that, before nodding in understanding and walking to Rattana together...

Even though he felt better since Shin had grabbed his shoulder a while ago, ...the feeling was still left in him a little, just enough to cause him anxiety like when he was in Kravenza forest. It was the feeling of being watched by someone, and it was a stare of bad intention even!

“I apologize for keeping you waiting for so long.”

Rattana spoke up with a little smile on her face when all the competitors had circled around her already. In the area, there was now a large table with a lot of stuff on top of it, looking like a buffet table at a party. Moreover, there were many staff members dressed in black T-shirts with a tag that said STAFF hanging around their necks.

“In the next 10 minutes, we’re going to officially start the event,” Rattana said as she glanced at the competitors. “And for now, I’ll ask your permission to use a healing skill on you to restore your HP, just in case, someone’s still injured from the first round.”

She said, holding up her tiny hand before snapping her fingers with a clear, loud noise.

Song of Angel

In the blink of an eye, there was a cute blonde angel slowly appearing behind Rattana. At the same time, a pair of white angel wings were spreading up as she was joining her hand on her chest. Then the angel smiled and started singing a sweet, beautiful song that gave the listeners a warm feeling like a soft wind blowing against every one of the competitors.

“...What’s happening now?” Wisana spoke up confusedly, making the one who was standing close to him turn and explain it to him.

“It’s a high-ranked healing spell that can restore 100% of everyone’s HP in a range of 50 meters. It also has the ability to dispel any kind of curses as well. In Pride’s world, the only one who can cast such a spell is Rattana.”

Hearing Shin explain the details, Wisana curled the corners of his lips up like a smile, admiring GM Anne’s ability quite a lot. Okay, they might know each other just slightly, but he never thought that she would be this skilled. Well, he just forgot that she was a GM anyway!

“Alright.” Rattana smiled widely again. “Right now, everyone is now in their fullest energy again, so next, I’m going to explain the rules of the competition.”

Then she looked straight at a group of players among them right away.

“Anyway, there’s only you guys, right, Mister... Er...Black? You’re the one who’s asked to join the event in a team, aren’t you?”

Hearing the question, everyone followed Rattana’s eyes to them at the same time, revealing a group of five members. And the tallest one among them had black short hair blending with some white locks. He was wearing a long pitch-black coat. His face, which looked a bit aged, did not show any emotions. He just nodded at Rattana’s question without saying anything.

“Just a reminder that the score you make in the competition will be shared by the number of members in your party. I hope that you understand this rule well.”

“Yeah, no problem with that.” The huge man replied in a plain voice. “We just think that it increases our chance to win. It’s better to stick together.”

“Then we don’t disagree with your intention.”

Rattana replied smilingly, making that man bow in acknowledgment. Meanwhile, Wisana did not quite get their conversation, so he leaned in to whisper to Shin again.

“The Hunting Gate allows players to join as a party, too?”
