Chapter 213: Qualifying Round Part III

A-CHOOO!!

The sneeze sound came with a hard sniff as he was wiping his nose. The amber eyes were looking at the information he just got. And he started to feel a bit stunted now.

“Come on, there will be only 5 winners out of all these people I am seeing?”

Wisana said as he looked around himself and saw that there were approximately 800 players here. And 5 out of 800 was not even 1% of the players. ...This was so tough.

Also, how many monsters were they planning to release to be enough for this many players? And the fighting area was so crowded as well. There was not even enough space for them to breathe just by standing and doing nothing here. ...What were the staff thinking anyway? Would the monsters last longer than two seconds like this?

“The most important rule in this fight is that the players cannot attack other players. If we find someone who does this, the player will be banned from the event right away. And in the case that players are attacked and killed by monsters, those players will be out as well.”

Hearing that, Wisana let out a chuckle.

“Will someone actually get killed? There’re hundreds of players here. I don’t think that any monster will be able to kill us.”

He said and closed his information window down. ...He did not need to know more of the details. Right now, he only needed to be ready for the fight.

“So, the qualifying round will start in 2 minutes. Every competitor, please get ready!!”

After GM June’s voice, a sensation started coming from the competitors. Some of them got their weapons out, fully ready to fight. As well as Wisana who was now stretching his hands to make some cracking sound, showing that he was ready to fight, too.

The time passed slowly, while many of the competitors were starting to look for a good fighting spot for themselves. Those who were range attack players were climbing to the top of the buildings or hiding and waiting inside. Those who were melee attackers with heavy weapons were just standing there, unbothered about anything. Some of them were even standing in the middle of the street just in case there were some monsters coming towards them, they would be able to kill them right away!

And some of the mages started using their camouflage skills to blend into the surroundings cleverly, while the others were hiding in the trees’ shade, fading in it like a ninja.

There was only Wisana who was standing in the same spot. His eyes were glancing around to explore and study the area thoroughly. From his surroundings, mostly there were tall buildings, and the streets and the sidewalks were not that wide, so this could be his disadvantage if he ran into some large size monsters.

After he looked up to the sky, he saw that these buildings had about 3-4 floors. ...If those flying monsters were coming around, he would not be able to fight them either. So, he should just leave this kind of monster to the ranged attack players to deal with them.

TOOOT!!!!!

Right after that, there was a long horn pipe sound coming up as a sign that the battle was about to start in a few moments. The amber eyes of Wisana looked in front of him instantly at the street that led to the inside of the town that had many players gathering around there.

About twenty seconds had passed. The silence started growing around them, while the competitors were gripping their weapons tightly in their hands, getting ready to kill every enemy that came across!

GROOWL!!!

And another sign was a loud growl of something that caused a strong wind to blow against them, making Wisana hold his hand to cover his face from it.

“Here it comes.”

The man spoke quietly to himself, while the others around him were holding up their weapons firmly. But none of them had made any move when something was flying right toward them with full force.

Wisana’s eyes even bulged as he bent away from that thing, having it crash into the building’s wall with a loud noise!

“What the hell was that? How did it get here?”

A player yelled out after he saw the damage points popping up from the thing that just landed on the build’s wall. And when they could look closer it was the body of a player that was killed right on the spot.

“Sh*t, ...There it comes, the first corpse.”

Wisana frowned his lips because he just said that there would not be any players getting killed. But then a dumbass was just blown up all the way here and died in front of his eyes.

“Crap, what kind of monster is in the front line exactly?” A player spoke up with a shaking voice.

While Wisana was speechless, he looked over to the direction that the guy was cast away from. He had not found his voice to speak yet when a flame blazed up there, radiating heat to him, making him draw his steps back instantly. Many players started getting panicked, having no idea what kind of monster was possibly there. But just a moment later, the answer appeared...

“Minotaurus!! There’re three Minotauruses here!”

A shout came from the front line with a loud crashing noise that shook the whole ground. The owner of amber eyes now frowned his eyebrows even tighter...

“It’s Minotaurus, the front line said there were Minotauruses coming here...”

“Sh*t, would I be able to fight it? And those GMs really released Minotaurus in the qualifying round?”

“That’s brutal.”

Hearing the grumbling complaint from the players around, Wisana forced up a wry smile as he let out a long sigh, thinking that he might have to fight with something with more levels than him again!

RUMBLE!!

It did not take long before the ground started shaking again and the scene in front of him almost made Wisana’s eyes bulge out of their sockets. ...A group of players were thrown up in the air. Some of them landed on a building, crashing into the wall, breaking it into pieces. Some of them flew past his head. ...And there was totally something huge rushing toward him at full speed.

“Sh*t!” The sassy one yelled.

After he focused clearly, he finally saw that it was a monster that was supposed to be a bull, because he saw a pair of large, twisted horns that were shining there. But that was not the point.

The point was that the bull was definitely running through the crowd in his direction!

“I am so screwed!”

“Woah, there’s something dangerous going on in block A now, Da!”

At the casters’ desk, DJ Toei yelled out when he saw how brutal the monsters released in block A were.

“That’s right, Toei. I’m in shock, too. I’ve never thought that there would be one of the toughest monsters like Minotaurus in the event. But this means there’re a lot of competitors in that block as well.”

“But will they really be able to fight this? Since the Minotaurus is a high-ranked monster with the level up to 54.”

“Besides having a higher level than some other bosses, it’s known as a strength-type monster with high-speed movement as well. I think that block A is going to be the most ferocious one now.”

“If so, will there be someone who can kill the Minotaurus at all? It hasn’t been one minute since the monsters were released, and they’ve already got dozens of the players lying dead on the ground.”

The narrators’ voices drew a lot of attention from the audience to block A, especially Maysa who was watching the screen attentively.

“Did you see that just now? That was Na.” She turned her face to Waree and asked.

“Yeah, I saw him for a second as well.”

The girls said with an excited face. In the moment of a Minotaurus rushing in to attack other players a while ago, Wisana’s body flashed on the screen. However, they did not know what happened after that, because the camera had changed its angle totally!
