Chapter 208: The Parallel Night Part IV
Chapter 208: The Parallel Night Part IV
“How did you know about that?!!”
“Let’s just say that I do.” Maysa sighed again. “I understand that Warunya’s been awkward about this, but she doesn’t have to tell him tonight.”
The troublemakers were staring at each other tiredly as well. Tunwa placed a hand on Maysa’s shoulder, before shaking his head wearily.
“We understand that, too, May. But as his friend who’s done so many wrong things to him like me, I just want this to end soon before it can hurt him more than this. I hope you understand me as I’m the one who’s encouraged him a lot about this.”
“And I agree with him as well,” Nuchjaree added. “If we knew this sooner, things wouldn’t have been so messed up like this.”
Listening to what the two said, she agreed with them. Since they had been with Wisana way longer than she had, they probably understood that guy better than she ever could. But the one thing that she did not understand was why it had to be right now. It was not going to be too late, if they waited until the Hunting Gate ended, right?
“So, just let Orn handle it for now. Seeing her like that, she’s actually good at talking, you know.”
Nuchjaree said, trying to make everyone get more relaxed.
“I just hope that thing won’t turn out bad. That’s all.” Maysa spoke softly.
And suddenly, the worries were flashing on her gorgeous face again.
About ten minutes later, the three were still quiet, while they were watching Wisana and Warunya from a distance. Even though she was worried about him so much, Maysa could not see Wisana’s face at all. She was afraid that the truth would make him sad and completely shocked.
He could possibly stop playing the game for good...
Well, the reason he joined the game in the first place was that girl Warunya, wasn’t it?!
Thinking about it this way made her feel badly frightened. ...If that happened, she would not be able to see Wisana anymore. She would not see his smile. She would not get treated so gently by this man forever.
She thought as she looked at those two from afar. The darkness was Maysa’s barrier. She was so curious about what expression he was making right now, about how that guy was feeling.
“Hey, they start moving now. Let’s split!”
Tunwa yelled loudly, making the two girls pretend to look away unbothered. And a moment later, Warunya walked back to them who were acting like they were enjoying that party that looked like there were still many circus shows waiting in the queue.
Warunya stopped and stood next to Nuchjaree, while Tunwa and Maysa were looking at the beautiful girl without her realizing it.
“How was it?” Nuchjaree asked with a whispering voice.
The one who was asked forced out a wry smile, nodding wearily at her in reply.
“Was he okay? He didn’t blame you or anything, did he?”
“He understood it well. And he said that he was okay. Don’t worry about him.”
Hearing that, Maysa and Tunwa looked at each other’s faces, before letting a sigh out at the same time. ...It was where he said he was okay that was worrying. Maysa thought, hurriedly glancing at Wisana who just started getting up now.
She then turned her face away like nothing had happened after seeing that.
“The party’s not fun for Na now I guess,” Tunwa spoke up. “Should we end it here? He probably wants to rest now, too. He’s had a lot for today.”
“I guess so.” Nuchjaree sighed. “Also, it’s definitely not fun, if he has to watch this goofy circus of Uncle Sander right now.”
Maysa secretly agreed. She sensed their care and worries from these two. And she was glad that they understood Wisana so well. Also, Warunya looked more relieved that after she had taken it out of her chest, Wisana seemed to be okay with it, too.
It was good that things had turned out fine...
But she could not help but worry that Wisana had also been confirmed to be...
100% brokenhearted.
A moment after Wisana walked back and joined them, as if he purposely gave Warunya some time to come here first, so she could leave with Nuchjaree. Right now, there were only Maysa and Tunwa who were looking at him with worry. However, Wisana was still smiling like nothing had happened before, and he was acting more normally than the others were expecting as well.
And the party ended, with someone not quite willing.
Sander, who was completely drunk, still wanted to go on with his barbaric circus shows. However, the party had to end, according to the host’s order. And that troubled Lala, who had to shoot a sleeping poison dart at her master, so he stopped being crazy finally. And deep down, she really hoped that he would not remember anything about this when he woke up, or she would get punished for this surely.
After that party, Shin excused himself and left right away. He had the reason that he made an appointment with a blacksmith in Dores to repair his Longinus spear that seemed to be damaged so badly from the latest battle.
“Tomorrow, we’re going to be enemies,” Shin spoke to Vincent before he went back to the town.
“Yeah. ...Just so you know, I’m not going to go easy on you. So, don’t cry and beg me to do so later, because it’s just going to be useless.” The corky one replied sassily.
“Huh...” The quiet one curled his lips, looking like he was about to smile, before nodding as a goodbye to Wisana and Waree.
----------------
Their small party had ended, and the silence started surrounding them again, as well as the tents that were set up to be their camp for the night.
Maysa was lying on her mattress, feeling so uncomfortable that she could not sleep. She was staring at the tent’s ceiling, and she had been lying still like that since everyone was back in their tents. She was worried about Wisana somehow. A part of her still doubted his action which was so normal like nothing had happened before.
She was curious. ...Did Wisana really have a crush on Warunya? Because his reaction was so calm, even though he was just heartbroken so fleshly.
“Gosh, this is frustrating...”
The girl spoke up frustratedly, kicking the blanket off her with full strength. The slender figure that had only a t-shirt and shorts on, got up to sit on the small mattress in the tent, before those light gray eyes were staring at the tent’s door for a long while...
“Haaaa, ...Okay, I’m going out for a walk.”
Then she decided to get out of her bed, before opening the tent out for a walk to clear her head just a bit...
After she was outside, the cold breeze at night could refresh her a little. Her long hair was waving when the wind touched it. Her lips were curling up into a smile, before Maysa started walking forward, without any destination in her mind.
Her eyes were looking at the view around her as she was walking deep towards the forest near the town. Some nocturnal monsters were running past her, but with the levels lower than hers, they just left her alone without the will to pick a fight with her.
A moment later, she saw a walking path leading to a clearing ahead of her. Then she smiled, deciding to walk there. The moonlight in the night sky was shining upon her, reflecting on her smooth skin to be even fairer. She pushed her hair back softly, before looking up to see the stars above that were shining on the black canvas, looking like a painting by some famous artist.
“So pretty.”
Its beauty was so fascinating that it made the girl say that out loud.
“Can’t sleep, too?”
But suddenly, there was a gentle voice of someone speaking up, making her pause and look at where it came from. ...Then she saw the one who looked familiar lying carefreely there on the ground.
“Wisana, what are you doing here?”
The girl asked with a surprised face.
“The same as you, girl. Why are you here?”
“I can’t sleep.” The one who was asked the same question smiled wryly.
“Me neither.”
