Chapter 193: Versus “Ouroboros” Part VIII
Chapter 193: Versus “Ouroboros” Part VIII
“Me...?” Nuchjaree asked.
“That’s right.” Maysa smiled as she answered. “It’s the only spot that you and Angie can attack. And I’ll be supporting your attacks to destroy it faster. Because if this arm’s destroyed, things will be a lot easier.”
“I see.”
Angie was the one who spoke up like she understood everything now. And yes, after she could tear that Ouroboros’ arm off, then she would be able to attack every part of it.
Thinking about that, the youthful face was curling up a grin for herself.
“And Leonard.”
“Y... yes, miss!”
The dog jumped when Maysa called his name.
“I’m afraid that I have to change your role. I need you to be in the back line with Warunya instead.”
“Like, the furthest back?!” The dog yelled panickily. “Are you sure? What about Miss Angela, miss?”
A part of it was glad quite a lot that it would be in a less risky zone, but the other part of it was worried about the tiny one on its shoulders that there would not be someone to be her legs anymore.”
“I’ll assign Tun to guard Nuchjaree and Angie instead.”
“Me?” The one who got the same role raised his eyebrows.
“Yeah, ...we’ll be attacking this arm until we can tear it off. So, we need your skill, Tunwa. Until we can do it, don’t let these girls get any harm.”
Hearing that, the young man smiled broadly right away!
“Trust me on that, babe!”
Maysa smiled at that reaction, before glancing at Warunya.
“And you, Warunya, your job is to analyze the enemy’s movements. You need to keep watching for where it’s going, what magic skill it’s about to use, and warn us if things are going worse.”
“Do I need to throw the support items at you guys, too?” Warunya asked.
“Let’s leave that to Leonard.”
The one who was assigned a role flinched a little, before nodding rapidly right away. The dog monster was glad that at least it did not have to risk its life that much anymore. While Angie did not seem to like the idea of having to stand on her own legs again.
Finally, the chief of staff got her eyes on the monstrous siblings like Wisana and Waree. And both raised their eyebrows instantly after they got stared at with a strange look in her eyes like that.
“I haven’t explained about the last arm, have I?” Maysa asked, and everyone shook their heads in response. “The last arm of Ouroboros is the dark element. It’s the arm that mainly attacks with magic skills. Its ability is to shoot the magic out rapidly and continuously like we just saw. The attack has no cooldown or delay, and it uses up very few MP per one combo.”
She finished, then caught eye with Wisana directly, before she gave him a sweet smile.
“I want you to deal with this arm. Can you do that, Wisana?”
“Me?”
The young man raised his eyebrows immediately. After he saw this brilliant chief of staff’s eyes, he could sense something from those eyes instantly. Seeing that, he grinned as he slipped out a loud laugh.
“I got it. Let me handle that.”
“Great. I’m counting on you, boss.” Maysa winked at him.
“I’ll never ever let you down, babe.”
A brief moment later, Maysa looked at Waree, and the one who was stared at smiled in response right away.
“Now, it’s my assignment?” She asked.
“Yeah, and your assignment is not hard, Nam. You remember the last beam that Ouroboros shot at us?”
“I do. ...Why?”
“That’s called Final Flash, an ultimate of the boss. It will be shot every time its HP is lowered down for more than 8 million points.”
“And...?” Waree raised her eyebrows.
“I need you to stop the attack because its attack range is so wide, almost as wide as the room. If we get hit again, we’ll be put in a long sleep for sure, right?”
Listening to that, the guardian of light placed her hand on her lips as she considered. Her brain was running so fast to calculate her own abilities and magic skills. And it took just a blink before a cute angelic smile like Tinkerbell’s appeared on her gorgeous face.
“I think I have a way to handle that.”
“You sure?” Maysa smiled back at her.
“Yeah. I assure you it’ll work. But until then, what should I be doing, since the enemy will take quite a while to shoot another ultimate skill again.”
Maysa grinned at the question.
“In the meantime, you do whatever you want to. Let’s just say that I’m giving you a free movement pass, too.”
“Great.”
Waree smiled widely like she had been wanting to hear these words from the chief’s mouth for a long time. Because to have her waiting to support the party with her magic skills from behind was not her style at all!
“Anyway, how much HP does each arm of the enemy have? We wouldn’t be wasting too much time until we could destroy every one of them, right? Also, we have Ouroboros’ main HP that has up to 500 million points to deal with too.”
A moment later, a question came straight up from Nuchjaree. And that made Warunya who was reading her book put on a sweet smile as well.
“It’ll be alright, Nuch.” She said. “The 500 million HP of Ouroboros is already shared with the parts of its body. So, each arm has only 50 million HP, and the rest of the HP is in its torso.”
“I see.” Nuchjaree nodded. “Knowing that kind of makes the purpose more possible now. ...Even though the purpose has the HP up to 50 million.”
She said and then looked at Angie. And the little mage only let out a long sigh in reply, feeling exhausted in advance that she had to destroy that huge and very tough thing!
GEEEZE!!!
After that, a warning sign of a disaster came once again. Ouroboros’ screech made everyone pause before they turned to look at it at the same time. Right now, the chain that used to hold the enemy tightly in place started to loosen up as one of its hands tried to pull the sword, which was the main core of the skill, out of its red-blood eye.
“The skill is about to be ineffective now,” Wisana warned.
“Our meeting time is up, then. Everyone, get in your position!”
And it was Maysa who shouted a command again. The party glanced at each other, nodded, and then split up quickly. Maysa’s light gray eyes caught Warunya’s, before giving her a grin.
“And you, Warunya, find a safe spot for yourself first. Try to be somewhere high, so Leonard can throw the support items at us easily.”
“Yes!”
“Come on here, Miss Warunya. I’ll carry you up to that mezzanine!”
“Wah!”
She had not agreed to that yet, but Leonard already did its job by holding Warunya up to have her sit on its shoulder before it started running out of the chief of staff’s sight. Then Maysa turned to look at Wisana one more time.
“You still have some of your fancy tricks, don’t you?” She asked with a smile on her face.
“Am I that obvious?” The cheeky one smiled widely back at her.
Hearing that, Maysa’s smile got even bigger.
“Let me guess, you were told not to use it?”
“Yeah, Master said do not use it until I can handle it better.”
“But it’s on your face that you’re dying to try it out now, you silly.”
The one who was forestalled slipped out a laugh again.
“Is there something that you don’t know about?”
Maysa did not answer the question. She just glanced at Ouroboros hard, while the enormous monster was tearing the chain off its body before it screeched out in a treble tone.
“Just don’t push yourself too hard. I’m worried about you.”
She said with a slight blush on her cheeks, then the slender figure ran out of the troublemaker’s sight, leaving him stunned there, eyes bulging. ...And a moment later, he chuckled, shaking his head amusedly.
“You too, Maysa.”
