Chapter 185: The First Assemble Part VII

Chapter 185: The First Assemble Part VII

And he got upset somehow just thinking about that.

“Your chief of staff is very clever. There’re only a few players who can do it like her currently. It’s such a shame that she has to be stuck in a small guild like this. If she got a chance to be with one of the four gods, Maysa would probably become famous in the blink of an eye, because her skills and look are the good selling points.”

Wisana paused, glancing at Shin instantly.

“What do you mean by that?” And his voice sounded a bit provoking somehow, too.

“Nothing. I was just saying.” But Shin was too lazy to pick a fight with him.

Hearing that, the talkative one frowned his eyebrows, feeling displeased but still managing to force a smile out.

“Yeah, sorry that she’s stuck with a noob guild like this.” He said, then cursed. “Anyway, why do you keep complimenting her? Do you have feelings for May, or what?”

“Me?”

Shin pointed a finger at himself, surprised that the other’s voice sounded more harsh than usual. And that made Shin amused somehow, even though his face still looked emotionless as usual.

At the same time, Wisana was feeling strangely sick in his stomach. Maybe it was because of Nuchjaree’s words that said Maysa was in love with someone, and that coincided with this Shin guy showing up, exactly the first time that the two met.

And that was when Maysa started looking different!!

“...Don’t tell me that you like...” Wisana started guessing with a deep voice.

“Why? You’re jealous?”

With Shin’s words, Wisana was still like someone pressed his pause button. His beautiful amber eyes widened as he was speechless, before he turned his face in another direction, looking like a robot running out of battery.

“I think... I should search somewhere else.”

He finished speaking and barely walked away from Shin in time. The cold, quiet one curled up his lips like a smile, before glancing at Maysa who was standing in another far corner of the room. Then he shook his head, amused by himself that he had just found a weak point of Vincent now.

After that, the two boys did not say anything more to each other, and Shin was glad that he could enjoy the silence again. Meanwhile, Wisana was upset, but he continued looking for the slot to place the bracelet as Shin told him enthusiastically, even though he kept glancing at Maysa with a strange look once in a while.

Until about 10 minutes had passed, the two started to feel at a loss, because they could not find the hidden slot at all. They looked at the group of their friends, who were now reviewing the plan over and over as they were waiting, looking like they were running out of things to talk about now.

“Can you find it?”

Shin asked after they agreed to look for it around the dome.

“No.” Wisana shook his head. “I start to think that maybe your bracelet slot isn’t in this room at all.”

Shin was speechless, or to be accurate, he was trying to recall when he was here two years ago...

Unlike Wisana, he was looking around the room again consideringly, before he rubbed his black hair, making it messier. He felt like giving up without even starting to fight right now. He had been trying to press every brick on the wall to make sure that the place to put the summoning bracelet was not really in some kind of a hidden room.

But there was still nothing.

He thought and let out a long sigh.

But it was not long after that when the pair of amber eyes glanced at the tall statue in the middle of the room. ...He narrowed his eyes as he considered, before something in his brain sparked a thought up, saying “The wood couldn’t be seen for the trees.”

“...I think this spot looks suspicious.”

And then Wisana walked straight up to the statue, making Shin stop and follow this man out of curiosity about what this man had noticed now.

“What’s up with the statue?” Shin asked.

“It’s shady. I’ve tried finding it in every corner of the room already, and I found nothing. So, I think maybe it’s something too obvious that makes us ignore it from the first look.”

He finished speaking and jumped on an arm of the statue, before jumping up to one of its shoulders, which was around 17 meters tall. Then the pair of amber eyes started rolling as he studied the huge statue thoroughly.

And something caught his eye!

On the throat of the statue, something was shining, reflecting the light of hundreds of torches in the room. Seeing that, Wisana jumped to cling to its chest which had some curves for him to hang on to.

That was all to make the amber eyes widen before a soft smile came upon his face later.

“Shin, I found it!”

“...What?”

He said it softly to himself before he managed to jump and climb the statue as Wisana did. After he could find a spot to cling to, the amethyst eyes saw a round cavity perfectly the same size as “the symbol of alchemy” bracelet. Also, the spot was made of silver, while the whole statue was made of stone.

“Do you think this is it?” Wisana asked.

“We’ll see.”

After the gentle voice of the Zero-Celsius Prince, he placed the bracelet on the silver cavity, and it fitted perfectly with a click! sound.

However, nothing happened for about ten seconds. The pair of different colored eyes caught each other, not knowing what to say. Wisana started thinking that maybe this cavity was not the slot they were looking for surely. So, he was about to take the bracelet out of there, but Shin stopped his hand first.

“...Wait,” he said. “...Do you feel something?”

“What?”

Wisana raised his eyebrows, before listening closely, but he still did not hear anything. A second later, he felt the statue they were climbing shake a little. And that was all that made the boys look into each other’s eyes instantly.

Bingo!

“May!!”

Wisana shouted loudly, drawing everyone’s attention to him.

“Get ready now. The god is about to come!”

The troublemaker yelled delightfully, before dropping himself down with the other young man. The tall one took many steps back as he tried to get a whole look of the statue.

“You found it?” Maysa ran to join them.

“I think so because if this isn’t it, I’ll be running out of ideas of where it can be,” Wisana replied.

“Great, I’ve been heating up for a while now,” Tunwa shouted out excitedly.

When everyone gathered in, the statue was vibrating ever harder. Behind it, something was appearing slowly. It looked like a creature with flesh and blood, a huge golden-colored snake!

“A snake?” Nuchjaree raised her eyebrows.

“That’s definitely it, guys,” Warunya said, making everyone look at her. “Ouroboros is the symbol of alchemy. And the other thing to confirm this is the image of a snake eating its own tail in the back of the statue.”

Hearing the girl who was in the alchemist class confirm that herself, the party let out a sigh of relief as they saw the golden snake circling back slowly to eat its tail finally.

After that, the 20 meters tall statue started cracking and shaking continuously!

“Just like I said, Shin,” Wisana said amusedly. “...People couldn’t see the woods for trees.”

Shin did not say anything in reply. He was just staring right at the statue. And if Wisana did not mistake something, he saw the prudent young man smiling like he was satisfied with something, or it could be a scary smile.

Even the one who was peeking at the man like Waree paused at that, too.

“Are you alright, Shin?” She asked.

“Yes,” Shin replied, before clapping his hands to summon his legendary weapon. “Finally, it’s time to climb up your wall, Rak.”

The last word that he said was almost too quiet for Waree to hear. And the Longinus spear, this time was pure silver, showing that it was made up of the holy element.

It was not just Shin, who was ready for the fight. Right now, Angie, who was sitting on Leonard’s shoulders had summoned out her favorite scepter, too. As well as Nuchjaree, she had a white bow in her hands drawn with the illuminating white arrow, ready to fire at any time.

And Tunwa grudgingly brought his oval-shaped shield out and spread it in full, ready to protect his friends as he was assigned.

There were only Wisana and Maysa who were still catching eyes, smiling at each other.

“Why don’t you look bothered at all, boss?”

The pretty girl smiled sweetly, showing her cute dimple.

“You don’t seem to be bothered, either.”

He retorted, and the other only shrugged back in response. After that, it was their turn to summon the weapons. Wisana brought out two fire swords from the Element. And Maysa brought out her illusion gun, getting fully ready to fight.

“This time is the same, right?” Wisana asked her.

“Yeah.” She smiled. “Have fun and destroy it all!”
