Chapter 176: Training Part III
Chapter 176: Training Part III
“Whew... I made it in time. I actually thought that we might take a longer time than this.”
But before they could say anything more, there was a familiar gentle voice coming from behind them, making everyone turn to look at the voice.
It was Sander.
The master of the magic warrior class suddenly popped up behind them just like that. And Leonard was standing there, too. He was brushing the dust off his clothes with his clumsy gesture.
“Mister Sander!”
Everyone shouted.
“Hey, You guys woke up earlier than I expected.”
The middle-aged man looked up at them as he smiled sweetly. He was covered in dust, dirt, and strain all over, but there was not any wound on his body.
“What was that explosion? How did you get back to the camp?”
It was Waree who asked loudly. She still had a shocked face from the large bomb earlier, but right now, she was shocked about how these guys showed up here instead!
“Oh, don’t be panicked, kids. That was us trying a new skill and we lost control a bit.”
He said, scratching his cheek as he was laughing cheerfully.
“And we got here by using this item, ’Mom, I’m home.’ So, we could get back to the camp in a moment.”
After he finished speaking, Sander held out a tiny doll. It was a skinny boy doll wearing a cap as he cupped his hands around his mouth like he was shouting. It was a rare item called ‘Mom, I’m home.’ Its ability was to teleport the user back to the save point in the blink of an eye. But under the condition that there had to be a ‘Welcome home, son’ doll setting at that spot, too. It was a doll of the same size, looking like a senior woman holding a spatula, waiting for her son at the saved point.
And Sander had probably set the mother doll somewhere near that camp for them to teleport back quickly as they could see.
“That’s not the point now!”
Maysa cut them off, already knowing how this uncle traveled back. But there was something that she cared about more, ...about why Wisana was missing and why he did not get back with Sander.
“Where is Wisana? Don’t tell me that he died during the farm, and he’s sent to the hospital now.”
She asked worriedly, making the friends start getting worried about what Maysa thought as well. But Sander smiled widely at that question, bending himself away for them to see Leonard clearly. And that was all to make Maysa cover her mouth because what she was seeing was something shocking.
It was Wisana passing out and was carried by Leonard. His body had many bruises. And he was covered in dust and dirt, just like Sander. The new clothes he changed into before farming were now torn apart.
“Wisana!”
Maysa shouted, as well as the others rushed in to check on the one who was badly injured. ...Leonard, the servant of Lala, managed to put the tall young man on the ground. And without hesitation, Maysa went straight in to support him.
“What’s happened to you? Are you in serious pain? Hang in there. You’ll be fine.”
She said worriedly, while her tiny hand was patting his face softly like she was trying to get him to his consciousness...
And it did not take long before the troublemaker slowly opened his eyes. His mouth parted like he was trying to say something. At the first second that his eyes could focus again; he knew right away that the one who was holding him was definitely Maysa.
“M...May?”
“Yeah, it’s me,” Maysa said loudly. “...You’re alright? Don’t say much though, you look like you’re seriously injured. ...Nam! Could you check on his wounds, please?”
The chief of staff called out for the only one in the party who had healing skills. But Wisana reached up his hand to touch Maysa’s nape softly, narrowing his eyes as he was looking at her.
“N... no, May.” He said with a shaking voice.
“Why not? You’re seriously hurt, so let Nam heal you first. ...I told you that you shouldn’t go, but you never listened.”
“No, no healing.”
He told her with a gesture of pressing his lips tightly like he was struggling with the wounds that he got, making his friends look down at him with worried eyes. The one who was the nearest to him like Maysa was still holding his hand because he looked like he could die at any moment now!
“No, you don’t have to heal me, but I’m asking you for one thing.”
He said with a painful voice, making the listeners almost shed tears.
Wisana started pulling the little girl down slowly until her ear was on the same level as his mouth.
“What do you need?” Maysa narrowed her eyes.
“Can I...” Then he acted struggling more. “...Have ...a bowl of rice, please. I’m hungry enough to eat the whole elephant now.”
Not only that he said that with a nerve-wracking tone, but also with his stomach rumbling to confirm his words, harshly like a slap on everyone’s faces. Then the others widened their eyes as they made a sound ‘Huh?’ out of their throats in harmony.
----------------
“Na, slow down. You’re gonna choke on your food.”
The voice that sounded fed up belonged to Tunwa, who was looking at his best friend shoving the food into his mouth dementedly. The chewing noise sounded like a lawnmower. One of his hands was holding a rice plate, while the other hand was using a fork to stab the food on every plate into his mouth. Wisana did not even care what kind of food he ate (stuffed) or how it tasted.
“...Water, water, water.”
The troublemaker said, beckoning for some water at someone who was nearest to him, Maysa. She made a tired face before grabbing a water potion out of her inventory and tossing it to this cheeky man with annoyance.
And the one who never realized that he had triggered people’s irritation just took that bottle, before drinking it up quickly!
“Haaa! I thought I was gonna die.” He said delightedly. “...After I finished training, I thought that my stomach was flat down to my back for sure. I was so hungry, ...like I’d been starved for months.”
“That happened when you exercised too much, boy. Even I got hungry, too.”
Another voice rang up in support, Sander was laughing happily at his favorite disciple’s behavior quite a lot, while he was sitting in another corner with Lala’s food in his hand like the others.
But the kids did not believe that.
The thing that they were curious about the most was what kind of training these two just did. Why did they come back looking all defeated? And why did the one who had never been that hungry like Wisana have 6 plates full of food like this?
“Na,” Tunwa asked with a serious voice. “...Can I ask you something?”
“Sure, bro, what is it?”
Wisana said without looking at him because his eyes were busy looking for the pots in front of him to see if there was still something left for him to eat.
“You need to answer me honestly, okay?” Tunwa retreated.
“Yeah, stop being tardy and just ask already.”
“What kind of training did you do last night?”
CLANG!!
And that was the only answer Wisana could give him. The plate in his hand fell to the ground, making a loud noise. And the face that looked healthy was now pale.
His reaction made the others pause and then they started looking at each other, while the one who was the attention of every eye was shaking like a wet bird.
“...D ...do you really want to know, Tun?” Wisana repeated.
“Well... yeah, I’m just curious a bit.”
“...La ...last night, I... WAAAAARHG!!!
