Chapter 173: “Signetic Syncro” Part V

Chapter 173: “Signetic Syncro” Part V

“As you can see, it’s eleven p.m. now. So, you only have 7 hours before sunrise. ...And that’s when the castle’s gate opens for us to go in and hunt the boss. Are you sure that you’ll be able to do anything in just 7 hours?”

“7 hours is plenty, boy.”

A few seconds later, Sander walked in to join the conversation with Leonard, the big servant carrying a big bag behind him.

“7 hours farming will upgrade a whole lot of levels of my favorite disciple. And I assure you guys will meet the new Wisana in the morning.”

He finished speaking, then walked closer to place a hand on the shoulder of his favorite disciple with a smiley face. And without hesitation, Maysa, who was in doubt for quite a while, gazed up at the older man.

“...Isn’t it too risky rushing out to farm in a limited time like this?” She asked.

“It’s okay. This kid has to rush about developing his levels anyway since he has to hunt the boss and join the hunting gate.”

“Who said that I would allow him to join that event?”

Even though it did not sound like she was serious, Maysa would never allow it. She still disagreed with Wisana joining the event.

“...What, but you said that you would accept this if I won Lala in the test, didn’t you, May?”

The one who was losing his prize did not hesitate to object as well.

“Excuse me, since when did you win?” Maysa smiled sweetly. “...Also, even you actually did, but you won against Lucy, not Lala as we agreed in the first place, right?”

“What? That’s not fair!”

Wisana yelled when he was played by the trickiness of this cute girl Maysa. And that also made Waree, and Sander burst out laughing right away. Well, how could Maysa be so shrewd to him, while she was making a cute face like that? That was why Wisana lost his words to argue. That was why it was funny!

“Let’s discuss that later. It wouldn’t hurt if we test him again when he fights the boss, right? But right now, we need to hurry. We don’t have much time.”

Sander reminded everyone. And that got a tongue-clicking sound out of Wisana quite loudly, after he had been played by this cute fox girl.

“I’m not done about that either, Mister Sander. This guy hasn’t rested from the fight, yet. What if he slips and gets killed and sent back to the town?”

“Oh, don’t worry about that. I have Leonard bringing many rescue items.”

He finished speaking, before pointing his thumb to his back, showing Maysa the half-dog person who was adjusting the bag’s strap on its shoulders. ...However, her worries did not disappear that easily as her face frowned now.

“Let me go with you, then.”

Maysa could be scarily stubborn when she wanted to be as well. Seeing her like that, Wisana slipped out laughing as he glanced at Sander, before he winked, implying that he would handle this himself.

“No, May. I think you should stay at the camp.”

“Why?!” The stubborn one drawled a long word.

“Because you have work to do, don’t you?” Wisana smiled widely. “Tomorrow, we’re going to fight that Oro-oro, aren’t we? I heard that it’s even more difficult than Lord Inferno, you know. So, if my chief of staff doesn’t have a plan for it, then tomorrow will be a difficult day for us as well, right?”

“...”

He said and then glanced at the others like he was asking for an opinion. And that made Maysa quiet right away.

“I’m counting on you, so stay here and make us a fighting plan. Please.”

After his words, he held up his hand to stroke the other’s hair softly, making Maysa avoid his eyes in another direction. She made a tongue-clicking sound in her mouth out of displeasure, before pushing the other’s hand off.

“Fine!”

She replied grudgingly, frowning as she walked out, leaving Wisana and Waree laughing behind her.

Then, he looked at his master again, before he nodded as a sign that there was nothing to worry about now. And Sander just nodded back, getting ready to lead him out.

“Take care, Na.”

“Thanks. ...and I’ll be back soon.”

----------------

“That jerk! How could he smile like that when people were worried about him?”

The complaint of the little girl was resounding throughout the area. She was stomping away from the campfire because she wanted to avoid that annoying face of someone who did not care about the concern of the other at all when he kept his head in something that did not make sense at all!

“Wait till he’s alone with me. I’ll swell that head up!”

Maysa said aggressively, before walking to hide herself in a shabby garden in Ouroboros’s dungeon castle. She seemed like she wanted to sit down quietly to restrain her mood.

It did not take long before her eyes caught the remains of some broken pillar around there. So, she walked in and took a seat as she popped her information window up to browse the internet.

“Not only that he doesn’t care, but he also assigns me work to do. That guy’s the worst!”

The girl with grey eyes kept on complaining. Even though her mouth said that, her finger was still clicking on the screen to get on the website of the Association of Explorers to buy some information about Ouroboros anyway. So, she could plan something as some annoying man asked her to.

Her mouth would whine about it, but Maysa was willing to work for Wisana anyway.

“...What did you say?”

She had not finished downloading the information when her ears caught the voice of somebody from somewhere near her. At first, she was shocked, because she thought that it was a ghost. But then she realized, how was it supposed to be a ghost in the game? So, Maysa decided to pay closer attention to the voice before she knew that it was from a nearby bush around here.

“Who’s that?”

Maysa asked herself quietly before she sneaked to the source of the voice in the most cautious manner.

When she got to the destination, her tiny hands started splitting the bush in front of her apart to look for the owner of the voice. Then she saw a couple of a man and a woman standing just a palm away from each other. Moreover, the man was holding the woman’s shoulders tightly as well.

That was all to make Maysa blush.

Whoa! Isn’t that one of those climax scenes in romantic movies?

And the ones in front of her were someone remarkably similar. One of them was a good-looking, but bad-mouthing guy, Tunwa. And the other one was a bold girl who might look pretty if she had a better choice of clothes, Nuchjaree.

As she thought, the relationship between these two was more than just a typical friendship!

Then, Maysa smiled knowingly.

She knew it, they liked each other. That was why they sneaked out to make out in a quiet place like this!

“Are you serious? ...Then why didn’t you say anything sooner, huh?!”

Tunwa shouted at Nuchjaree loudly, making the girl look downcast instantly.

...Seeing that, Maysa gasped.

Wait, ...it’s not a love scene, but a fight scene.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know it could get so messed up like this.” Nuchjaree said with a sad voice.

“What we’re going to do now? It gets all messed up because you choose to keep it to yourself. You should have told me earlier!”

“It’s not fair to blame it all on me, Tunwa. How would someone say this kind of thing out straightforwardly?”

Hearing that, Tunwa held his hand to rub his temple instantly.

“Then you should learn to be subtle sometimes. Or at least come to speak to me. But what we’re going to do now?!”

That was another time that Tunwa spoke loudly, obviously making Nuchjaree feel down. And that was kind of rare for Maysa to see. Because as far as she knew, Tunwa was the type of guy who was always in a good mood and could not get mad at anyone. However, he had already shouted at Nuchjaree twice today.

...What they were fighting about seemed to be important.

She thought as she frowned her eyebrows together excitedly. But it did not take long before she paused, knocking her own forehead slightly and sticking her tongue out at the same time.

“...Why am I being nosy in other people’s business, though?”

After she was done whispering to herself, she then started sneaking out of this spot right away.

“Now how am I supposed to tell Na? Just walk up to him and say, ‘Hey, Na, Orn doesn’t have a crush on you, she already has someone else she likes’ like this? Huh, Tun?”

But it was Nuchjaree’s words that held her back to stand still in the same place. Her grey eyes were unmoving, as well as her gasping lips.

...What?
