Chapter 165: Unexpected Technique Part III
Chapter 165: Unexpected Technique Part III
“...Mister Sander, what are you doing?” Maysa asked.
“I’m preventing an unexpected event that is about to occur. ...Like I said, Lucy doesn’t know how to hold back.”
Hearing that, the owner of the light-green eyes paused, lips gasping slightly after her brain processed what this older man meant to say. She saw that he was glancing at Waree and Shin who started making a move as well.
“You two are thinking the same as I am, right?” Sander asked.
Both did not say anything in reply. Shin just tightened his grip around the spear, while Waree was smiling by the corner of her mouth with sparkling light illuminating on her hands, showing that she had been holding dozens of magic spells, too.
“Master, the enemy’s about to finish the battle now. We need to do something.”
Jinnie’s voice rang to gather Wisana’s senses before he lost them when he saw this familiar skill that was so close to coming at him.
“I already know that, Jinnie.” He said with a harsh voice.
“Would you like to use any item to encounter her? Currently, we have many types of bombs in the invention.”
“...No, I don’t think those bombs will work on her.”
Wisana said wearily. He held a hand to touch his lips softly. ...It was kind of weird that after he heard Jinnie’s voice, his mind unbelievably calmed down. The pair of eyes that were looking around panickily was now gone.
And all that was left were only the sharp amber eyes that looked determined like before!
“...Then what should we do? I suggest you wait for the enemy to approach and attack, then use the Jumper and Cicada Shed skills so that she would miss and lose the chance to cast a skill. And this would cause a delay after the attack as well.”
“This sounds good.”
The young man agreed, before staring at the other hard. ...Jinnie was right. In a situation like this, there was only Jinnie’s plan that might work.
“...I’ll try to do as you planned, girl. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it successfully, though.”
“Good luck, Master.”
The owner of a sweet voice wished her master luck, making him smile, even though the situation did not look so good. ...Then he bent down, getting ready to shift away from the other’s attack that could be coming at any time.
Seeing him in this position, she figured out right away what he was up to!
Interesting!
Lucy curled up a wide grin right away. He was trying to evade her attack, huh? This looked fun. Finally, this battle’s result really had to be judged by speed.
“I’ll remind you again.” Lucy smiled sweetly. “...If you don’t give it all you got, you’re dead for sure. So, whatever you’re hiding in there, just pull it out and use it. Make me satisfied.”
“...I’m not hiding anything.” Wisana smiled widely.
“We’ll see if that’s true or not!”
WHOOSH!!
In just a blink, the slender figure launched at Wisana instantly. One of her hands was holding the charged element and dragging it along the ground, leaving a long trail behind her!
“Here she comes!” Jinnie warned.
“Yeah!”
Wisana shouted as he braced himself, waiting for Lucy to release the attack. Then a blink later, he disappeared from Lucy’s sight again fast with the ability of the Jumper skill.
At the first second, he felt glad that he could escape from the other’s attack. However, when he looked at where Lucy was supposed to be, he did not find her there.
“...Did you forget that I could use the Jumper, too?”
Then, there was a cold voice speaking up from behind him. ...That was all to make that young man curse, before using the Jumper again. He disappeared from Lucy’s sight for the second time, before showing up at another spot with Lucy following behind cleverly.
“Damn, now this has turned into a tag game!” Wisana shouted loudly.
“And I’m so good at this game as well.” Lucy smiled sweetly at him.
And how they disappeared and popped up like this kept on happening dozens of times. Lucy was trying to be ahead of Wisana many times, but this man was as fast as her. Even though she wanted to catch him in her hands, his sense of fighting was so excellent that it probably suppressed hers now. She had to admit that.
If he had higher levels than this, this could not end up being just a play tag for sure.
It was such a shame. She thought, before smiling widely. Then she let out a sigh wearily.
“W... what?!”
That came with Wisana’s shout, who felt like fainting out of shock when Lucy decided to increase her speed to another level, making her able to wait ahead of him finally.
“Like I thought, the faster one wins this battle.”
Right after finishing her sentence, Lucy’s hand with the energy she had been holding on it crashed into Wisana’s body directly and instantly.
However, her attack was totally unsuccessful when the person that was supposed to get hit turned out to be empty air and a black glove with a cross on the ground...
This was... the Cicada Shed!
“...I don’t think so. The one who has a better strategy wins.”
In the blink of an eye, the tall body of a black-haired man stood behind Lucy with the fire sword that he summoned from the Element. ...There was a way to win, just stab the sword in her and blast it up. Even though her level was much higher than his, the speedy type probably had low armor points!
Then he stabbed her, aiming to pierce right through her chest at one time.
However, all he could feel was the emptiness again. ...Lucy, who was supposed to be standing right here, shattered into some particles. It was not Cicada Shed skill like his, but it was an illusion from her speed that had already fooled him once before.
This girl could read through his game!
And she probably knew two or three steps ahead of him, even!
“I agreed that having a good strategy already gets you halfway to victory. But this battle‘s result is still decided by speed anyway.”
Lucy said in a gentle voice.
She teleported behind Wisana’s back quickly with the elements’ energy that she had changed, and it was ready to strike.
“...Damn, having a strategy in a fight is really not my style.”
After Wisana’s voice, Lucy managed to push her palm at the opponent without hesitation or mercy. For a blink that he was careless, it was the blink that he could never avoid...
He smiled...
He was smiling so widely with the stinging pain in his brain!
At the same time, Maysa, who was watching them from afar cried out her buddy’s name out of extreme shock.
“Wisana!!”
BOOM!!!
The first second of the explosion came with a resounding thundering sound that shook the area. The flashing bright light hit the others’ sight, making them narrow their eyes. ...Even though Maysa wanted to look for the friend that she cared for, the dazzling light was still unbearable that she had to hold up her hands to cover her eyes.
“Wisana, don’t you ever die!!”
Her mouth could only shout her friend’s name with her worried heart.
Not only Maysa but even Waree and Shindanai both clenched their jaws with the same feeling. They were too slow to make a move, ...or maybe it was because their eyes could not catch up with those two’s movements. So, they could not interrupt the battle in time.
Right now, they had no idea about that cheeky guy’s well-being anymore!
A few moments later, the impact of Lucy’s attack started fading away. It seemed like the Pierce Charge was still confirmed as a deadly skill.
Even that blonde NPC only charged to energy for a brief moment, but the skill was still extremely strong that it caused a harsh wind and ground shake. ...Then how could Wisana survive it? Maysa thought worriedly as she slowly opened her eyes again when that dazzling light had died out.
“...This disciple is a superhuman now. Man, that’s really incredible!”
