Chapter 121: Hunter Guild (Association of Hunters) Part IV

Chapter 121: Hunter Guild (Association of Hunters) Part IV

SQUEAK!

The large wooden door of the guild office was opening slowly. Although it should have been like just another guest coming in, the appearance of the newcomer created a strange gloomy feeling in the surroundings quietly.

The chattering sound suddenly stopped, maybe it was because of the immense pressure aura radiating from the new guy.

Even Wolf lowered his eyes before leaning closer to whisper by Wisana’s ear.

“There, speaking of the Hunting Gate, he’s the front runner to be the champ this year.”

The amber eyes studied the said guy quickly. He was a tall slender guy, looking to be the same age as him. His black hair was slicked back untidily, letting some of it fall over his face. His pair of deep violet eyes were looking straight steadily like he did not care about the eyes that were staring at him at all.

The mysterious man was walking into the office with a big bag carried on his back. The moment the man walked past, Wisana suddenly got hurt in his temples that he had to hold his head as he was letting out a whine.

What’s this feeling?! I feel...like my brain’s being agitated.

“What’s wrong, Wisana?” Seeing the one next to her not looking so good, Angela tugged on his shirt many times to get his consciousness back.

“Nothing, just feeling a little bit dizzy.” He tried to sound normal, even though it hurt that his body became numb.

“That guy, what is this?” Wisana said quietly, his eyes staring at the man over there hardly.

That was the moment their eyes met. When he looked deep into the other’s eyes, his headache was gone, leaving him only emptiness. He then felt like his body was weightless, and the consciousness that used to control his thoughts steadily started fading away. He felt as if he was about to float.

This feeling... it’s like I’ve felt it before. The feeling that is both comfortable and like letting go of everything like this, what is it?

“Wisana!” The shout brought the consciousness of the one who was lost in thought back to him again. This time Angela even used all her strength to shake him.

Wisana could feel the heat growing up inside his body. Big drops of sweat started to wet his smooth face. His hands were still shaking when he turned to the little girl beside him anxiously.

“Angie, what is wrong with me?”

“You were clenching your fists and stared at him like you wanted him dead like that, I’m the one who has to ask, what is wrong with you?”

“I did that?” He yelled. “That can’t be. How would I do that without being aware of myself doing it?”

The man was trying to argue, as he was trying to stand up, but still glancing at the mysterious man from the corner of his eyes.

That black-haired man was wearing a light brown long sleeve shirt and a pair of dull-colored jeans. He looked very normal but radiated a frightening aura out all the time.

The owner of the good-looking face snorted, before taking his eyes off Wisana and walking to the announcing board of the guild. When the tall figure of him came through, the crowd there just avoided him, going in different directions instantly.

“Who’s that guy, Uncle Wolf?” His tone had a hint of an unexplainable feeling.

“His name is Shin. Like I said, he’s the one who’s expected to win the Hunting Gate this year. It’s not surprising that everyone seems to be in awe of him, because he’s so strong that he could even defeat the earth dragon Dorien level 120 on his own.”

What?!” Both Wisana and Angela exclaimed in unison.

“You heard me right. The man killed a rare monster that the guild listed 6 hundred thousand for the bounty by himself. Moreover, he only took two days to hunt the dragon down. He’s a very skilled young man. Many people admire him as a genius fighter. I’ve never seen him fight, though. But I heard that it was exceptional.”

“That’s so cool.” The little mage exclaimed softly.

“He’s really that good?”

The middle-aged man sighed at the question before he pointed to the announcing board instead.

“You see the board Shin’s looking at?”

“Yes, why?” When Wisana followed, he saw a board that had less paper than the others, there were only 5-6 pieces of paper on it. Compared to the other ones that had about twenty pieces of paper, it significantly had fewer notice papers.

“Why are there fewer papers on that one?”

“There aren’t.” Wolf snorted in reply. “At first, there was the same number of papers as the others. But since Shin has joined our guild, that’s all it has left.”

“You’re kidding...” Wisana gasped in shock.

“He’s always gone hunting the gold class monsters by himself?” Angela asked, not believing her ears.

“Correct.”

This time, both turned dumbfoundedly to the man at the same time. That one normal-looking guy had defeated more than ten monsters with a level of more than 100?!

An absolute monster.

“Exactly like a monster, huh?” Wolf said the words in their minds out loud. “Apart from that, the monster’s information he pulled out was always from the board with the most difficult and dangerous monsters than the other boards.”

“No, he did not...”

“He only chose to hunt the most savage gold monsters all these two months. That’s why his collecting points rapidly grows, making him the hunter with the most points of the year.”

“Within only two months?”

“Yup, just two months.”

Absolutely the greatest monster of all time!!

Wisana yelled in his mind. Within a short period of time, he had met another superhuman being aside from Waree and Angela now. And this one could possibly be scarier than these girls, even. Because one of the superhuman players like Angela was also in awe of this guy’s skills that she got speechless like this!

“Oh, Mister Shin, you’re here.” A chubby man spoke, while he was hurriedly running from the back of the bar. He was an old man with round glasses and white hair. He was dressed in a suit that was neatly ironed, looking like an office worker.

He stopped in front of Shin in a respectful manner, completely breaking the old Thai custom that the younger had to show respect to the older.

“And who’s that grandpa?” Wisana could not help but turn to whisperingly ask Wolf.

“Mister Wason, the guild’s manager.” The answer got his eyes bulge.

Oho, even the manager bowed at him. How VIP this man was?!!!

“Why are you late? I don’t have all day to wait for you.” His powerful deep voice spoke plainly, while his violet eyes were staring at the man in front of him steadily like he was trying to read his mind.

“My apologies, Mister Shin. I was trying to clear some wor...”

“Whatever.” Shin cut him off before his large hand tossed the bag he was carrying on the floor. “I’ve brought what you asked for.”

“Oh! You really got it! I owe you big time. Thank you very much, Mister Shin!” Wason shouted happily. The chubby figure hurriedly grabbed the bag to check inside, before the eyes behind the glasses widened with excitement.

“T... this is it, the heart of the wind dragon, Grem. The real one has to smell exactly like this!” After the name Grem slipped out of his mouth, those hunters around started whispering, making a sensation throughout the bar when they realized that the young man here had killed the famous wind dragon already.

“I’ll say this again, Mister Wason, this is the last time that I’ll help you. Later, before you take an order from anyone, please consider your capability if it’ll be enough to complete the task or not.”

“Yes! I’ll keep that in mind. Mister Shin, thank you so much for lecturing me.” The older one bent his head down like he was awkwardly showing his respect for the black-haired man.

The scene made Wisana feel offended. What was wrong with this guy, just standing there and letting the elder bow at him like that? He even made an unabashed face, too! How could one be this disrespectful?!

“Just so you know, even though you get pressured by any authoritarian, I won’t be involved with it anymore.”

“Understood, Mister Shin,” Wason assured with a withered face. “And about your price in return...”

“Transfer to the same account.” The other replied briefly and coldly. Then the tall man turned and walked away, without looking back at the manager. Maybe he did not care about anyone in the first place.

His sharp eyes glanced through the notice board in front of him with incredible speed before they caught a piece of paper on the top. The large hand reached out to grab and pull it out of the board right away.
