Pokemon : The Master of Dragon-Types

Chapter 417

Chapter 417

Typhlosion, Eruption!"

"Torkoal, Eruption!"

Adonis immediately commanded his Typhlosion and Torkoal to unleash their most devastating attacks.

Full-power Eruption!

As one of the most powerful Fire-type moves available, Eruption is a rather unique skill. Its power isn't fixed but changes based on the Pokémon's remaining HP. When used at full HP, Eruption's power reaches 150—exactly matching Blast Burn—but without any drawbacks or recharge periods.

With Torkoal combining forces with Typhlosion, the dual Eruptions from both Fire-type Pokémon became like raging infernos, instantly igniting the night. Rolling waves of flame engulfed the entire Fluorescent Forest. The surging tide of fire intensified the already sweltering summer heat, bathing everyone present in a fierce crimson glow.

"Blaziken, Swords Dance!" Pachart, however, wasn't in any hurry to launch an attack. While his other Pokémon pressed the offensive, he first had Blaziken use Swords Dance to greatly boost its Attack stat.

At the same time, Blaziken's Speed Boost ability was continuously activating, making it faster and faster as the battle progressed.

"Gothitelle, Psyshock!" Knox's voice rang out as he chose to have Gothitelle join the assault.

Psychic energy surged from Gothitelle, transforming into razor-sharp energy blades that violently struck at Lapras.

"Trevenant, Wood Hammer!"

"Palossand, Shadow Ball!"

The remaining combatant, Dick, also commanded his two Ghost-type Pokémon to join the encirclement.

The massive Trevenant condensed Grass-type energy in the air, forming a solid Wood Hammer, which it brought crashing down fiercely toward Gigantamax Lapras.

Meanwhile, Palossand fired a Shadow Ball from its body, which cut through the sky and flew straight toward Gigantamax Lapras.

The current scene reminded Jacob of how he and Raya's Pokémon had just overwhelmed Gigantamax Grimmsnarl together, but now the tables had turned—he was the one being surrounded.

"Lapras, Max Guard!"

Jacob's voice rang out. Faced with so many Pokémon attacking at once, he had no choice but to immediately have Gigantamax Lapras use Max Guard.

A massive protective barrier formed in an instant, enveloping Gigantamax Lapras like a crystal dome, isolating it from the outside world.

The sky-obscuring flames, Psyshock, Wood Hammer, and Shadow Ball—all these attacks were completely blocked.

Adonis, Pachart, Dick, and Knox were surprised by what they witnessed. This was their first time battling a Gigantamax Pokémon, and they didn't realize that Max Guard possessed such outstanding defensive capabilities.

"G-Max Resonance!" After blocking the attacks, Jacob didn't waste a moment. He continued to command Gigantamax Lapras to use its exclusive Gigantamax move.

Under Jacob's command, the azure Gigantamax Lapras arched its long neck, gathering Ice-type energy, and unleashed a towering beam of Ice-type light into the sky.

The dark clouds above were instantly dispersed, and countless massive ice spheres formed in the air, plummeting rapidly downward.

What kind of move is that?

This was their first time witnessing a Gigantamax-exclusive move, and they had no idea what effect G-Max Resonance would produce.

"Dodge! Be careful!"

Looking at the falling ice spheres, the four Champions didn't dare let their Pokémon take the hits directly and ordered them all to evade. For slower Pokémon like Torkoal that couldn't dodge quickly enough, they could only use Protect to minimize damage and preserve HP.

After the ice spheres crashed down, a shimmering Aurora Veil immediately appeared in the night, like a solid wall standing before Gigantamax Lapras. In the subsequent battle, Gigantamax Lapras would take significantly reduced damage from attacks.

"Don't give him any openings—attack quickly! His Max Guard can't be used consecutively!" Adonis stared at the Aurora Veil protecting Gigantamax Lapras while also reminding those around him. "Also, watch out for Darkrai's sneak attacks."

"Don't hold back anymore. Don't forget—one person just escaped. If that person calls for reinforcements for Giovanni, things will get troublesome."

"If we let Giovanni escape today, our lives will become very difficult in the future."

Adonis reminded everyone present. The three others were experienced battlers themselves; even when ganging up on "Giovanni," they didn't want their Pokémon to take unnecessary damage, and they all hoped someone else would charge ahead first. But there's no such convenient arrangement in the world.

Since they had accepted the benefits, they needed to do the job properly.

If Giovanni truly escaped today, once he recovered his strength, they would be the ones to suffer the consequences.

With Giovanni's power, he could completely crush any one of them in a one-on-one battle.

Listening to Adonis's words, Dick's deep voice rang out. "Since that's the case, I'll take the lead. Trevenant, full-power Wood Hammer—don't hold anything back!"

"Palossand, same for you—full-power Shadow Ball!"

Although they were the exact same moves as before, this time Dick's two Champion-level Pokémon unleashed their full strength without any reservation.

Trevenant's body became covered in brilliant green Grass-type energy, glowing brightly in the darkness, followed by a low growl from the ancient tree Pokémon.

The weathered wood was wrapped in grass-green energy, and its crimson cyclops eye locked onto Gigantamax Lapras before launching a fierce charge.

On the other side, Palossand was doing the same. Ghost-type energy surged from its body, and under the cover of night, it drew a dark arc across the sky as the Shadow Ball attacked.

With Dick leading the charge, Pachart and Knox could only go all-out as well.

Once any Pokémon reaches Champion level, a fundamental transformation occurs.

Champion level represents absolute dominance.

Like Knox's Gothitelle—with just a gentle lift of its hand, the Psychic energy within its body poured forth like a torrent, seemingly solidifying even the surrounding space itself.

The ancient trees around Gothitelle were involuntarily uprooted and floated into the air, slowly rotating with Gothitelle at the center.

"Psychic."

As Knox's voice rang out, an invisible shockwave suddenly spread outward, and the trees floating in the air seemed to be struck by an enormous force, instantly shattering and sweeping toward Gigantamax Lapras.

"Blaziken, Brick Break!"

Pachart also had his Blaziken, which had boosted itself with Swords Dance once, launch its attack. Although Brick Break isn't considered an especially powerful move, it deals super-effective damage against Gigantamax Lapras.

And most importantly, it could destroy the Aurora Veil!

Although the Aurora Veil created by Gigantamax Lapras was extremely large, it wouldn't be destroyed by just one attack from Blaziken. But with one or two more hits, it could definitely be shattered.

Finally, Adonis held nothing back either, still employing the powerful dual Eruption strategy.

"Typhlosion, Eruption!"

"Torkoal, Eruption!"

...

This time, facing the coordinated assault of six Pokémon, Jacob had no other means of defense available.

Jacob's eyes flickered with determination. At this moment, a daring plan came to his mind. "Lapras, Perish Song."

Jacob directly commanded Gigantamax Lapras to sing Perish Song.

Perish Song: Any Pokémon that hears this song will fall under the Perish Song status condition. After a certain period passes, all affected Pokémon will lose all their HP and directly lose all combat ability. Switching out or recalling the Pokémon can remove the Perish Song status.
