Chapter 415 415: 415. Danger lurks on every side

Inside the Secret Realm Gap.

The heavily wounded Gigantamax Grimmsnarl was already assured defeat, and Jacob calmly commanded his Pokémon to continue their assault.

"Raya, leave Grimmsnarl to Iron Valiant. You focus on Hatterene. Iron Valiant, use your final Moonblast!"

"Lapras, Ice Beam! Target Hatterene!"

"Return, Darkrai."

At this point, Darkrai was already critically injured and couldn't withstand even a single attack from Gigantamax Hatterene, so Jacob recalled it into his Dream Ball.

"Gardevoir, Shadow Ball!"

"Cresselia, continue using Lunar Blessing!"

As their voices fell, Moonblast erupted, striking Gigantamax Grimmsnarl with perfect accuracy and depleting its last reserves of stamina. It crashed to the ground with a thunderous impact.

After eliminating Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, the remaining Gigantamax Hatterene no longer posed a significant threat. Defeating her was merely a matter of time.

Jacob finally allowed himself to relax slightly. He observed both Gigantamax Grimmsnarl and Gigantamax Hatterene. This battle had been considerably simpler than he'd anticipated.

Although Gigantamax Grimmsnarl and Gigantamax Hatterene were formidable, without a Trainer's guidance and lacking certain core moves, they couldn't unleash their full potential.

If Gigantamax Grimmsnarl had known Reflect and Light Screen, abandoned offensive tactics, set up dual screens, and focused purely on support...

If Gigantamax Hatterene had learned Trick Room and deployed it first to compensate for her speed disadvantage...

With both Pokémon working in coordination, Gigantamax Hatterene could have transformed into an unstoppable cannon, simply unleashing endless Dazzling Gleams to completely overwhelm Jacob and Raya.

Outside the Secret Realm Gap.

The hot, humid summer breeze blew through the area. Even deep into the night, waves of heat could still be felt.

"How's my sister been recently?" Davis asked Caleb. Having wandered abroad for so long, he hadn't been home in ages. The last time he'd seen his sister and mother felt like a lifetime ago.

"They're doing well," Caleb replied. "Last time I took leave and visited your house, they're living much better now. Your sister's grades are excellent, and she's far more cheerful than before. Your mother had eye surgery recently, and she's recovering nicely."

Ever since Jacob had visited their home previously, he'd been providing financial support to Davis's sister and mother, dramatically improving their quality of life.

"Thank you," Davis nodded gratefully.

"Why thank me? You should thank the boss," Caleb said with a smile.

"I'll thank everyone," Davis smiled as well, looking at Caleb. "What about you? What are you planning to do after the Patrol Team training ends?"

"I don't know. I'll just follow the boss's arrangements."

As they conversed, a sudden whooshing sound came from overhead. They looked up sharply and spotted several Flying-type Pokémon soaring above. Fortunately, the thick darkness of night concealed them from detection.

"Someone's here! That was fast!"

Caleb and Davis exchanged glances, a flash of gravity in their eyes. Caleb immediately pulled out his phone to make a call.

Although the Secret Realm Gap interfered with regular phone signals, their phones had been modified by Sylvia and could bypass the Secret Realm's interference within a certain range.

Of course, such phones were expensive—but they could be lifesaving in critical moments!

Inside the Secret Realm.

With a resounding crash, Gigantamax Hatterene collapsed under the combined assault of various Pokémon. Jacob and Raya's faces lit up with triumphant smiles.

Although they'd successfully defeated two Gigantamax Pokémon, they'd paid a heavy price.

Among all the Pokémon, except for Gigantamax Lapras whose condition remained good, the others were in poor shape.

Darkrai was critically injured, and Iron Valiant was severely wounded as well.

On Raya's side, besides Mega Gardevoir, Cresselia was gravely hurt, and Hydreigon had long since fainted.

Jacob retrieved two Gigantamax Poké Balls and captured both Gigantamax Hatterene and Gigantamax Grimmsnarl.

A massive haul!

Gigantamax Grimmsnarl and Gigantamax Hatterene—two extraordinarily powerful Pokémon that could unleash tremendous combat potential once trained properly and taught essential core moves!

"Jacob, can I have Gigantamax Hatterene?" Raya looked up at Jacob, her bright eyes and radiant smile captivating even in the darkness.

"Of course. You can choose either of the two," Jacob replied with a smile.

"Beep."

As they spoke, the phone suddenly rang, startling both Jacob and Raya. Their expressions darkened immediately.

A call from Caleb at this time certainly meant trouble outside the Secret Realm Gap—something had happened!

"Hello."

"Boss, people have arrived. Probably around four individuals, no more than six. They're all riding Flying-type Pokémon. Strength unknown, and they're waiting for you outside now," Caleb explained concisely. "Looks like they're setting something up—probably a spatial sealing device."

"Understood," Jacob said, his expression grave as he nodded. "You two protect yourselves first. Don't worry about us."

"Okay."

After ending the call, Jacob and Raya exchanged glances, both recognizing the severity in each other's eyes.

Jacob's face was quite grim. Clearly, these people were targeting "Giovanni," and if they dared to hunt him down, their strength couldn't be weak.

At minimum, they all possessed Champion-level Pokémon.

"After we leave the Secret Realm, you go first," Jacob said to Raya seriously.

All of Raya's Pokémon, except for Mega Gardevoir who still retained fighting capability, were either somewhat weak or critically injured.

And Raya's Mega Gardevoir was a Shiny Pokémon—essentially her signature. Once she deployed it in battle, her identity would be exposed.

Having her identity exposed meant her reputation would be destroyed, which was tantamount to social death.

Similarly, Jacob's Iron Valiant couldn't be used either. It was also his signature Pokémon. Once deployed, many would realize "Giovanni" was actually Jacob.

Therefore, Raya staying here was essentially useless and would only become a liability for Jacob.

"We can break through together," Raya looked at Jacob earnestly. Although rationally she should leave without hesitation, she had reasons compelling her to stay.

Women are inherently emotional, and even the most rational woman loses her composure when in love, burning like wildfire—especially someone like Raya who'd been single for so many years.

She gazed at Jacob's serious expression. She didn't want to flee alone. "I still have Togekiss and the others. They can help us break through."

Jacob shook his head and gently embraced Raya. "If they dared to ambush me, they've made thorough preparations. Their strength definitely isn't weak. Right now your main Pokémon have lost their battle capability, and a Togekiss without Champion-level strength won't help much. Don't be reckless."

Raya took a deep breath, her gaze locked on Jacob. Just as she was about to speak, Jacob raised his hand, cutting her off.

"You go first," Jacob said with a smile, looking at Raya, his tone carrying a hint of reassurance. "I have my own methods. You staying will only hinder me. I've made full preparations and will definitely break through successfully."

Observing Jacob's confident demeanor, Raya's eyes held slight doubt, but Jacob continued, "Don't worry."

"You..." Raya still wanted to protest, but meeting Jacob's stern gaze, she could only modify her response. "Alright, then you must be careful. I'll wait for you."

"Mm." Although Jacob agreed readily aloud, he wasn't 100% confident internally. If four or five Champions were truly waiting outside, his chances of breaking through were genuinely slim.

He said this merely to reassure Raya.

However, even if the odds were one in ten thousand, he wouldn't surrender.

"Raya, have your Cresselia heal my Pokémon's injuries as much as possible. We don't have much time—this Secret Realm Gap is already beginning to dissipate."
